How to Download a YouTube Transcript as TXT or PDF

YouTube lets you view a transcript but not download one. There is no export button, no 'save as file' option — the panel is display-only. If you want the transcript as a file you can keep, annotate, or drop into a research folder, you have to get it out yourself.
The simplest path
