Current answers about transcripts, summaries, the Chrome extension, MCP beta, product limits, and privacy.
JumpWatch helps you decide whether a long captioned YouTube video deserves your time. The Chrome extension puts a configurable AI brief and follow-up chat beside the video. Signed-in users can save useful videos into collections, revisit their briefs and notes, and search their library. The transcript remains available for source checking and navigation, while JumpWatch MCP brings saved research and YouTube tools into compatible AI clients.
JumpWatch retrieves an available video transcript and sends relevant transcript text to the selected AI workflow. Generated summaries can miss context or repeat caption errors, so important claims should be checked against the transcript and original video.
Yes. Free extension tools include transcript access and search, configurable prompts, and summary workflows that open in supported AI platforms. Server-powered Premium features and the MCP beta have separate usage allowances. Check the pricing page and MCP dashboard for the current terms before relying on a specific limit.
JumpWatch needs a retrievable transcript. Public videos with usable captions generally work; private, unavailable, region-restricted, live, or captionless videos may not. A failed transcript or summary request is not presented as a successful result.
JumpWatch does not promise a fixed accuracy percentage. Quality depends on the captions, the video structure, the model, and the requested format. Treat generated text as an aid, not a substitute for checking important details in the transcript or video.
There is no fixed generation-time guarantee. Transcript availability, video length, the chosen model, provider demand, and retries can all change how long a request takes.
The JumpWatch extension is currently a desktop Chrome extension. JumpWatch does not announce an iOS or Android release date on this page.
No. Retrieving YouTube transcripts, generating server-powered summaries, syncing the library, and using MCP all require an internet connection.
The free extension includes transcript access and search, a configurable global prompt, and summary workflows that open in supported AI platforms. Usage allowances vary by server-powered feature and are shown where they are metered; JumpWatch does not promise unlimited server-generated summaries.
Premium currently adds server-powered summaries and chat on the YouTube page plus available model choices. Signed-in workspace features include a saved video library, collections, notes, and search.
You can copy transcript or generated text where the product provides a copy control. JumpWatch does not currently offer dedicated PDF or Word summary export.
JumpWatch does not currently provide direct one-click sync to Notion, Obsidian, Roam Research, or Evernote. You can move copied content manually, or use the MCP beta with a compatible AI client for the YouTube tools it exposes.
Yes. The MCP beta currently exposes six authenticated tools: youtube_library_search, youtube_channel_videos, youtube_transcript, youtube_summarize, youtube_insights, and youtube_usage. Library search is limited to literal matching over your own saved JumpWatch research; it does not search transcript bodies or use semantic similarity. See the MCP page for current client setup, pricing, and limitations.
JumpWatch stores the account and product data needed to provide features you use, which can include saved videos, generated content, collections, settings, and usage records. User-supplied LLM credentials are encrypted before storage. Review the Privacy Policy for current data practices and security details.
JumpWatch uses service providers for functions such as authentication, hosting, AI processing, payments, and analytics. A generation request may send relevant content to the configured AI provider. The Privacy Policy describes the current categories, purposes, and available choices.
Self-service account deletion is not currently available in account settings. Contact care@jumpwatch.cc for an account or data deletion request.
