How to Search Inside a YouTube Video for a Specific Quote

You know a video said the thing you need — a statistic, a name, a specific claim — but not when. Scrubbing the timeline to find it is slow and error-prone. The trick is that while you cannot search a video, you can search its transcript, and the transcript points back to the exact second.

The method

1. Get the full timestamped transcript of the video.
2. Use your browser's find (Cmd/Ctrl+F) to search the transcript for the word or phrase.
3. Click the timestamp on the matching line to open the video at that exact moment.
