Transcript of Iran Attacks U.S. Warships, Diesel Hits Record: Get Ready For Tomorrow
StockedUp
0:00Iran fired ballistic missiles towards a0:01US aircraft carrier and guided missile0:03destroyer. Both ships evaded the attacks0:06and CENTCOM responded by destroying0:08three Iranian oil tankers. Japan likely0:11dumped US Treasuries to fund yen0:13intervention. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang0:16said that artificial general0:17intelligence or AGI has officially0:20arrived. And Israel's continuing their0:22deadliest stretch of attacks on Lebanon.0:24Today we cover where the action is right0:26now and what to know for the stock0:28market.0:33Iran fired ballistic missiles at two US0:35Navy warships on Saturday and the US0:38responded by striking three Iranian0:40crude oil tankers. Saudi Aramco's Jizan0:43refinery near the Yemen border was also0:46struck by Houthi rebels on Monday. And0:48in response to the Iranian attacks,0:50CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper said, "If0:53you shoot at two of our ships, we will0:55impose an even higher economic cost0:57taking out three of yours." Iran's1:00parliament speaker said the US must1:02understand that the rules of the game1:03have changed warning of a faster,1:06heavier, and more painful response to1:08further US strikes. Diesel just hit an1:11all-time record high in the United1:13States. Truckers are paying $5.90 a1:16gallon nationwide on average right now,1:19a nearly 60% jump from the last year.1:22And in California, it's even worse at1:25$7.82 a gallon. And when diesel prices1:28rise, it becomes more expensive to1:30produce and transport everything from1:33food to consumer goods, which can push1:35prices higher across the board.1:38The EU has now formally joined the1:40US-led sanctions campaign against Iran1:43aimed at cutting Iran off from the1:44global financial system. South Korea is1:47also considering offering military1:49assistance to the US in order to reopen1:52the Strait of Hormuz. South Korean media1:54outlets have reported that Seoul is1:56preparing to send troops to the Gulf1:58region before year end and could take2:01parliamentary approval as soon as this2:03month. Although the South Korean2:05government denied that a decision has2:07already been made. Iran says a shipping2:09agreement with Oman is just days away2:12and would establish a temporary safe2:14route through the straight. Iran also2:16said it is planning to unveil a new2:18exclusion zone near the straight of2:20Hormuz warning that ships entering2:23without permission could face sanctions.2:25And Israel launched strikes in southern2:27Lebanon that killed at least 11 people2:29on Monday. Last month was the deadliest2:32stretch since the June ceasefire took2:34effect with Israeli strikes killing 112:37people and wounding 19 in southern2:39Lebanon. Lebanon's president says the2:42step up in Israeli attacks are intended2:44to undermine the US-backed ceasefire2:47framework.2:48>> Trump is threatening to stop trading2:50with every country the US runs a trade2:52deficit with if the Federal Reserve2:55doesn't cut interest rates. That threat2:57would effectively cut off roughly 50% of2:59all US trading partners including3:01Mexico, China, Japan and more. But this3:05threat was in response to the jobs3:07report on Friday showing 162,0003:10jobs were added in August exceeding the3:13estimate of 56,000 which is very strong.3:16And something that's pretty interesting3:18women accounted for nearly all of August3:20job growth adding 158,0003:23out of the 162,0003:25new jobs or roughly 98% of the total.3:28And much of that strength came from3:30health care, local government and3:32education positions.3:34>> Trump said the stock market should be3:35going up from the strong jobs report but3:37it actually fell because the jobs3:40numbers gives the Fed more room to hike3:42interest rates. The Fed's next interest3:44rate decision is on September 16th and3:47rising interest rates are generally bad3:49for stocks because it tightens the3:51economy and increases the discount rate3:53used to value stocks. Interest rate3:56hikes might be needed though because the3:58war in the Middle East is causing an4:00energy supply disruption pushing up the4:02price of everything. As of today, the4:05CME FedWatch tool is showing a 60%4:07chance of a hike at the September 16th4:10meeting.4:11>> With the spy falling down on Friday4:14because of that jobs data, it's now4:161.17%4:17off of the all-time high. And we4:19actually saw something start to play out4:21that is a bit bearish. And it's the fact4:23that the spy is rejecting at major4:25resistance. Back on August 28th, spy4:28posted a recent high close to 775 and4:31rejected very hard. And now the spy got4:33very close to that, also rejecting back4:36down. And as we rejected down on Friday,4:38we got pretty close to a major support4:40zone right around 768 to 770. There's4:44been multiple bounces within this zone4:46over the past few weeks. And if we end4:48up seeing this zone give out, I think4:50that we could see more bearish, more4:52bearish price action, and also more4:54selling pressure start to come into4:55play. And of course, if that happens,4:57there is support on the way down. First5:00off, 765 is going to be a first first5:03closer one, 762, and then 759 to 7605:07will be the largest area there. 759 to5:10760 will be huge if that ends up5:13testing. This ended up being a crucial5:15double bottom before we started to see5:17the recovery in the middle of last week.5:20>> Very interesting. And another thing, as5:22we know, is that markets are closed for5:24Labor Day. And historically speaking,5:27the first trading day back has been5:29rough for the S&P 500. Since 2017, the5:33S&P 500 has fallen on the first trading5:36day after Labor Day every single year.5:39The full four-day week hasn't done much5:41better either, finishing positive just5:43three of nine times.5:45>> And 170 trading days into 2026, the S&P5:49500 is still tracking alongside 19785:53more closely than any other year on5:55record, which was also coincidentally a5:57midterm year with a second wave of5:59inflation. And it was also during an6:02energy crisis tied to Iran. Surprise,6:04surprise. The crisis was sparked by the6:06Iranian Revolution, which gained6:08momentum throughout 1978 and led to6:11massive refinery strikes by late autumn.6:14Now, history can often be a useful guide6:16for the future, but of course, there's6:18also a lot of differences between now6:20and 1978. One of the biggest things6:23being AI. And on Monday, Nvidia CEO6:26Jensen Huang said that artificial6:28general intelligence, or AGI, has6:31officially arrived following the release6:33of OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra. AGI is defined6:37as a hypothetical type of AI that can6:40match or exceed human capabilities6:42across virtually any cognitive task.6:46>> It's quite a bold statement, and the AI6:48boom is now putting additional pressure6:50on Treasury yields with big tech6:52combined bond issuance on pace to hit a6:55record $3206:57this year, up 60% from 2025. That's7:01equal to 70% of total Treasury bond7:04issuance, meaning big tech is7:06increasingly competing with the US7:08government for investors in the bond7:10market. And Japan likely sold a portion7:12of its US Treasury holdings to fund its7:15record intervention to support the yen.7:17Japan's foreign securities holdings fell7:20by a record 87.8 billion dollars in7:22August, while the government spent7:24roughly 98.6 billion dollars intervening7:27in the currency market, marking their7:29largest monthly intervention ever. Japan7:32hasn't confirmed that Treasuries were7:34sold, but analysts believe shorter-term7:36US government bonds were likely used to7:39help fund the intervention. And this7:41week is definitely set to be pretty7:43eventful as well. On Thursday, PPI data7:46will release 1 hour before the market7:48opens along with some existing home7:50sales data 30 minutes after the market7:53opens, but the big day will really be on7:55Friday. The CPI inflation report will7:59release 1 hour before open, and this8:01will heavily influence the outcome of8:03this month's FOMC meeting on September8:0516th. Friday will be a big day.8:08>> It definitely will. If you're going to8:10wake up early, Friday will be the day of8:12the week to do it. But also in the8:14earnings lineup, Oracle and Adobe report8:17Thursday in after hours, but besides8:19that, the earnings lineup is pretty dry8:21this week. But also, we cannot move8:23forward without talking about our8:25biggest giveaway ever. Yes, we're giving8:28back to the community. And Tom, let's get right9:11into the good stuff of today's video,9:13which are some setups and predictions. A9:15stock close on the radar is UGA. This9:18follows gas prices, and as we know, gas9:21has been rising quite a bit. We've been9:23talking about UGA for a while now, and9:26it's really great to see this upside9:27movement. I know many people have done9:29well with this, and it's it's really9:30great to see. UGA is still on the9:33bullish radar, but also ticker symbol9:35CRAK, which tracks oil refining9:38companies. So, basically the companies9:40that are turning raw oil into refined9:44products like gasoline. Uh, these stocks9:47have also been doing extremely well. And9:50also, XLE is still on the radar as well,9:52which just tracks the broader energy9:54sector. As we know, the energy supply9:58disruption in the Middle East has9:59changed a lot of things and some10:01companies like these ones are benefiting10:03more than others. Energy is still close10:06on the upside radar.10:08>> Yeah, ticker symbol CRAK is a wild in10:11the short term. I'll be watching this10:13along with both of the other ones as10:14well, Mike. They are going crazy. But10:17with my first play, I'm looking at10:18ticker symbol F, which is Ford. I know a10:21lot of people uh, know Ford, one of the10:23biggest automobile companies in the10:25entire world. Uh, but it is trading at a10:28pretty low price right now, especially10:29compared to recent highs. Because back10:32in May, Ford actually popped as they10:34released a Ford Energy. It's a $210:37billion subsidiary designed to repurpose10:39under utilized EV battery factories and10:42start producing battery energy storage10:45systems, which are essentially used in10:47uh, AI data centers and hyperscalers.10:50But now, Ford is also going to be10:51releasing a new electric vehicle, which10:54is the Ford Fathom. And they're touting10:56that this truck will start at $30,000.10:59And for those of you that have looked at11:00new trucks recently, that is a pretty11:02insane price. So, um, that's pretty11:04interesting. You know, they're going to11:05be coming out with this truck and11:07they're actually targeting to sell11:08100,000 of these in the first year11:11alone. And if they do that, that11:13essentially puts them up there with with11:15Tesla, you know, kind of competing with11:17the Tesla Cybertruck and, you know, even11:19getting into Model Y, Model S territory.11:21So, I will be watching Ford very closely11:23here over the next coming weeks and11:25couple of months. I like the way in11:27which it's bouncing here and it's also11:28very close to support, making the11:30risk-reward ratio pretty solid if you do11:33target that recent high. Now, that will11:35be quite the push from where we are now,11:37but I also think there could be scalping11:39opportunities off of this recent push,11:41too.11:42>> Yeah, the stock has been rebounding11:43pretty strongly over the past few11:45trading days. It is also on my radar, as11:48well. But, another stock that's close on11:50watch is Enphase, ticker symbol ENPH.11:53This is an energy technology company11:55that designs, manufactures, and sells11:57home and some commercial solar and12:00energy management systems. It has been12:03pretty volatile over the past few12:05months, but it appears to be offering a12:07nice risk-reward as it is holding this12:1035 area of support pretty strongly. And12:13it's also in the energy sector, which12:16does appear to be benefiting from the12:19energy supply disruption caused by the12:21Iran war. Uh the stock doesn't have that12:24much bullish momentum at the moment, but12:27I think that this can be an early type12:30uh multi-week, multi-month uh support12:33bounce. We'll see, but I do like the12:36risk-reward that is being presented off12:38this $35 support. It would be really12:40great to see if the stock can continue12:44developing more bullish momentum and12:46potentially getting closer to that area12:48around $40 or so throughout this week.12:51It will be a little bit of a uh12:53challenge to do so, but it is close on12:55the radar.12:57>> Yeah, Enphase is a pretty insane stock.12:59Its average percent rise over the past13:01year is 3.8%, so it's definitely a stock13:04that can move quite a bit. And I also13:06like that support zone. But, with my13:08next play, I'm looking at Tesla to the13:10downside. I know Tesla has had some13:12cyber cab hype in the short term, but13:15even with that hype, it still fell down13:17nearly 6% on Friday at close. And13:20something that we saw happen recently is13:22that Tesla reported earnings and they13:24gapped to the downside. Well, now Tesla13:26actually filled that gap to the upside13:29and even attempted to break out with13:30some good news on Thursday. But, like I13:33said, it turned around very hard Friday13:35and now we're actually back under the13:37previous resistance that it broke above,13:39$370.13:41And that's going to be a big level to13:42keep on the radar throughout this week.13:44I think that Tesla could hold underneath13:47that level and then start to move back13:49towards the middle part of this range.13:51I'm not necessarily looking for Tesla to13:53fall all the way back down13:56although it is possible with how much13:57Tesla can move, but at least for the14:00beginning portion of this week, I will14:02be looking for a pullback, more14:04specifically down to around 330 to 332,14:07which was the low on August 18th. So,14:10I'll be watching for that level to come14:11into play as a possible target. Uh keep14:14Tesla on the radar. It's moving quite a14:15bit in the short term and it's a pretty14:17fun stock to trade. It's a stock that14:19likes to trend for multiple weeks to14:21multiple months at a time as well.14:24>> Yeah, and like you said, there's a lot14:25of news with it right now, too. So,14:27let's keep it close on the radar, but14:28let's also jump right into today's14:30momentum plays. With the first one, we14:32have Advanced Micro Devices, ticker14:34symbol AMD, to the upside.14:37>> Yeah, if AMD can break out above $479,14:40keep watching it up. That was a very14:42strong close.14:43>> With the next one, we have POET14:45Technologies, ticker symbol POET, also14:48to the upside.14:49>> Yeah, POET had a great move Friday as14:51well. If it breaks out above $7.95, also14:54watch POET to the upside.14:56>> And then with the last one, we have14:57Netflix, ticker symbol NFLX, to the15:00downside.15:01>> If Netflix ends up dropping under15:03$78.20,15:05watch it down. That sell-off Friday was15:07pretty insane for a stock like Netflix.15:09>> These three stocks are on the radar for15:11potential continuations tomorrow if and15:14only if they break through the levels15:16listed. These stocks are volatile, so15:18always protect yourself, use stop15:20losses, and focus on what matters, which15:21is making smart, disciplined trading15:24decisions. We have a lot of great15:25information in the StockDweebs Discord,15:27so definitely check that out. But, let's15:29also jump right into today's $930,00015:33big money trade. Today, we are looking15:35at ticker symbol NIO. This is Nio. The15:39trader here bought the four strike call15:41options that expire on April 16th of15:442027. This is a Chinese EV manufacturer15:48that specializes in smart electric15:50vehicles, power solutions, and battery15:53swapping technology. This stock has been15:55quite volatile over the past few years,15:58and the stock does have some pretty16:00interesting news. So, first off, this16:03trade will naturally be a higher risk,16:05higher reward trade than most others16:07just due to the nature of this company.16:10The stock is down 94% from its all-time16:13high in 2021. It recently reported16:16earnings where its revenue missed16:18estimates. Its earnings beat estimates,16:21and the company reported, and this is16:23pretty interesting, a 49.4%16:26year-over-year increase in deliveries16:28with margins and cash flow moving in the16:30right direction. The trader here is16:33positioning themselves to profit from16:34the stock turning around, and it16:36potentially has a lot to gain if they're16:38right.16:40These options have 224 days until16:42expiration, so this is more of a medium16:45to longer-term trade. Again, this stock16:48is volatile, so it's a higher risk,16:49higher reward.16:50If the trader here is right, they can16:52make a lot, but again, they need the16:54stock to turn around.16:56>> Yeah, and this play has a lot of time to16:57it, going out to April of next year, and17:00that's going to be important to remember17:01with a trade like this because right now17:04the stock is in freefall, and I always17:06like this old-time saying for the stock17:08market in that it's hard to catch a17:10falling knife, at least without getting17:12cut. And whenever we look at Nio right17:14now, it is kind of pulling to the17:16downside. Now, there are some big17:18supports coming up right around 340 to17:20350 where the stock has bounced17:22significantly in the past along with $317:25even. And I'm a little bit worried that17:27there could be some traders out there17:28that hop into this trade thinking it's17:30going to pop up right away where in17:32reality it could trade in this lower17:34zone before maybe at the beginning of17:362027 starting to truly recover up and17:39break out past $4 again. Now, I'm not17:42saying that it can't do it sooner, but17:44I'm just saying to be ready for that17:45especially given the time on this trade.17:48I really like the technicals though with17:50the support coming up. It makes for a17:52decent risk reward ratio, but of course17:54it's a $4 stock. So, it moves a lot and17:57uh especially with the way that it17:59trends it can have some insane moves18:01like even in 2025, you know, it peaked18:04out around $8 and dropped nearly 50%18:07back down to $4.50 within just a few18:10weeks a couple of months there.18:11>> Yeah, so let's keep it close on the18:13radar. Should be interesting. And if you18:15guys are into short-term trading,18:17definitely check out that first link in18:19the description and the comments down18:20below to get in on the Stock Up Trading18:23Floor. Keep up19:36the great work going forward and thank19:38you all so much for watching and let's19:40crush it in the market this week.
