Unlearned Wisdom by Johnny Chang
0:00In this episode, we're going to be0:01talking about how to tell if God is0:03saying wait or no. Why sometimes God0:06feels silent. And also why people get0:09blessed over you or why you feel like0:11sometimes people receive blessings that0:13you've been praying for. And towards the0:15end, we're going to talk about how to0:17remain hopeful even in all of the0:20silence and the patience and the waiting0:23for God.0:23>> I also have some questions I want to ask0:25you about when you crashed out. So,0:26we're saving that to the end. Welcome0:28back to another episode on the Unlearn0:29Wisdom podcast with yours truly Johnny0:32Chang. And this is episode 51. We're0:35going to talk about delays and waiting.0:37Waiting on God, delays with God. All of0:40that.0:42Let's begin.0:42>> And each episode0:45is a And each episode0:47I [laughter] thought that we're going to0:47say that on And each episode is a0:48gospel-centered lesson that you could0:50apply to your life today.0:54Hey, you.0:54>> you ever introduce yourself as Pastor0:56Johnny Chang?0:56>> My name Because I'm not greater than0:59Oh, this guy's so humble. I'm the humble1:02[clears throat] man. So hungry.1:03>> Wow.1:04>> [laughter]1:06>> Just kidding. All right. So, what do you1:08guys want to talk about? I'm just1:10kidding.1:11Okay, there was a time where I was1:12starting Bible class. This is before all1:14of you guys. This was the time of book1:16Johnny Chang. This is before core to1:18hot. This is before It was no script1:22fellowship days. If you guys know,1:24like and comment. You guys know who the1:27old script fellow Who's the OG no script1:29fellowship people? Anyways, no script1:31fellowship, I started my own Bible class1:33because you guys were asking me, "Yo,1:35you literally break down the Bible."1:37That was when I had 30 to 70 people in1:39my in my Instagram live and I only went1:41on Instagram live. I didn't go on1:42YouTube. I didn't go anywhere else. And1:45you guys would [clears throat] ask crazy1:46questions. I'd give you guys unlocks1:47like I normally do. And you guys were1:49like, "Oh, let's start a Bible study."1:51And I was like, "All right." So, we1:53coined it Bible study at first. And the1:55first thing I thought was, should I talk1:57like the Gospels? Should I start with,2:00you know, the tough books? And then2:02Pastor Kim was like, oh, you know,2:04you should [clears throat] start with2:05Genesis and go all the way to2:07Revelation. I was like, genius. So, I'm2:09expecting him to give me all of his2:11notes.2:12For some reason I'm like, all right, I2:14came to you. Obviously, I've never2:16taught from Genesis to Revelations2:18truly. Like I know about it, but like2:20help me out here, you know? And then2:22Pastor Kim straight up was like, no.2:25Like, start a Bible class, but I'm not2:27going to give you any of my notes. He's2:28like, he even like wrote down on the2:30thing. He's savage. He wrote down his2:32name on the on one of his notes and he's2:33like, do you see what this is? And I was2:35like, no. And he's like, that's my name2:37in Korean. That means he's her my notes.2:39[laughter]2:42I was like, what?2:42>> a troll. Like, bro's trolling me. He's2:44like, so this is mine. He's like, so2:46you're going to have to make your own.2:48And at that time I was I did feel a2:49little salty cuz I was like, okay. Cuz2:51first I became very offended cuz I was2:54like, why? Why wouldn't you help me? I'm2:55trying to teach other people the Gospel.2:57You told me to teach the Gospel.2:58Secondly, I was scared. I was like,3:00dude, I literally started this Bible3:02class off of the coattail that I could3:05take your notes and just preach it to3:07them. So, like I wouldn't have, you3:08know, have to come up with my own3:09thinking and whatever. So, now I'm3:11locked into this like not this verbal3:13contract with my people, right? And I'm3:15like, dude, I got to preach the Gospel3:17and I don't know how to like teach from3:20Genesis. So, I just prayed about it and3:22Pastor was like, you have to pray about3:24it. You have to lean on God and God is3:26going to work. So, when I prayed, I was3:28praying till the very end to have God3:30change Pastor Kim's heart to give me his3:32notes.3:32>> [laughter]3:35>> Had to find the loophole. Legit. I was3:37like, God, please make Pastor Kim give3:39me his notes or Pastor John. Pastor John3:41works pretty well, too. So, then I went3:43through all these other people. I went3:44to Pastor John. Pastor John was like,3:46bro, if Pastor Kim says it, I can't help3:48you with that. I was like, cool. Then I3:50went around Pastor the and Pastor the3:52and I went to past James and past James3:54was like3:56you know respectfully I don't share my3:57notes with anybody. He has 500 plus4:00power points on like all kinds of things4:02and I'm like bro like hook a brother up.4:04He's like I'm sorry and they all told me4:06do it by faith and honestly4:08>> [clears throat]4:09>> it was during that time that I was like4:10praying to God and I was like where are4:12the answers cuz you're literally closing4:14every door and going no no no no no all4:17this and I'm like dang but I don't feel4:18like I'm qualified to teach. Yes I'm a4:20minister but like and I teach the4:22prisoners but I teach more of like real4:25world stuff. I don't go straight to4:26exegesis of the Bible and I was like4:28dang so at that time I was like all4:30right God I know it's not me preaching4:32the gospel. I know you had mentioned4:34that in Moses's you know4:36experience you fill his mouth your word4:39never returns void so by the Holy Spirit4:41I'm just going to really start studying4:43looking back and I realized how much4:45notes I actually took. Like I looked4:47back at my actual notes all in my Bible4:50and I was like dang almost every verse4:52in Genesis cuz4:55originally [clears throat] I was going4:56to just do the most important verses of4:58Genesis and then move on so I could5:00speed through it but then I had a heart5:03to be like you know what5:04if I have all these notes like let's say5:06there's 20 verses 18 of them are are5:08like annotated. I'm like I'm just going5:10to do verse by verse Bible class and so5:13I just started and everyone was loving5:16it. They were just like oh my gosh and5:18we started with like seven people. So5:20does past the Kim when he would normally5:21teach a Bible class it's not like you?5:24So okay okay so you you came up with5:26verse by verse?5:27>> Yeah he doesn't go verse by verse. He5:29goes verses by verses so he'll he'll5:31connect he's he's made scripture. So he5:33he goes okay in John and then it talks5:35about in Galatians and it comes back to5:37Genesis and then Exodus like he goes5:39back and forth. Me I was like nah we're5:41going verse by verse and we're going to5:43tie it all in because God's meticulous.5:45He's not going to just put something in5:47the Bible and be like, "Yeah, whatever.5:49I'm just going to fill this like empty5:50space." Every single line he has is5:52about Jesus and it ties into the5:54prophecy some way, shape, or form. And5:56so, through doing that, I had to wake up5:59in the morning and the first thing I6:00would pray my prayer changed. My mind6:02changed. Everything changed to be like,6:04"How do I serve these people with the6:07word of God?" Because now you have this6:09thing where it's like, "I'm nurturing6:11people for the first time and I'm going,6:13'Dang, like I'm discipling them, so this6:16isn't a joke.'" And so, I I realized6:18during that time I was leveling up crazy6:20on my spiritual life because I was6:22seeking God every single day, every6:25single moment, not just for6:26church-related stuff that I could hide6:28behind the pastor, but now I had to step6:30out like a minister and have actual like6:32repercussions if I mess up. And James6:34chapter 3 hit me, it was like, "Be not6:37many teachers cuz they get the greater6:39condemnation." The teacher gets a6:40greater condemnation. So, I'm like,6:42"Sheesh, all right, God, you got to help6:44me."6:45And from then [clears throat] on,6:46it is what it is now. You know, we're in6:48Numbers and it's like super amazing,6:51super deep. Everyone loves the Bible6:53classes. And even if I do 30 minutes6:55free, they're getting crazy unlocks just6:58from the 30 minutes free. People don't6:59even sign up, they'll just jump on the7:0130-minute free one and like, "Dang, like7:03I got my food for this Sunday or this7:05Saturday." How did you know that it was7:06God helping you and how quickly did it7:08happen because I think a lot of times7:09when people pray to God, there's a7:11timeline on it. They want it on their7:12own time. So, it took when I prayed, it7:15was really almost like7:18not instantaneous, but it took like7:19maybe 2 weeks cuz I prayed for prayed on7:21it for like 2 weeks and then I started.7:23What does it feel like when God is7:25talking to you? It doesn't feel like7:27anything. It's more of just the fruit.7:30Like you start to see what other people7:32are saying, not what you're feeling. So,7:35like I want to I know you guys know I7:36teach feelings are like deceitful, so I7:38don't go off of feelings. Just cuz7:40something feels holy doesn't mean that7:41it is, right? And so, I was like, "Okay,7:44aside from all the euphoria, aside from7:47all the dopamine and serotonin, what are7:49these people saying, and are they7:51changing?" And I realized just after one7:54Bible class, people's minds were like7:56flipped and were like, "Oh my gosh, I7:59see that Genesis is about the world of8:01the heart. It's about Jesus being there8:04in Genesis chapter 1. I've read the8:06Bible X amount of times. I've never seen8:08it this way." And like, it wasn't8:10forced. It wasn't like, "Hey, everyone8:12agree with me." They were literally8:14changing, and then I started to see8:16people grow cuz I didn't have any,8:18honestly, before like Core of the Heart,8:20I had no goals. My goal was just to8:23preach the gospel. I didn't care if8:24there was 10 people in the Bible class8:26or 10,000 people. It didn't matter to8:28me, right? Now, we have like more than8:30like 900 people. It's kind of crazy, but8:32it started with seven people, and then8:34the next I noticed every single week8:37there would be more and more and more8:39and more. And I'm just like, "Dang, like8:41this is kind of crazy. It's like8:42catching fire." And it would just jump.8:44100 people, 200 people, three And I8:47didn't feel anything. I wasn't like,8:49"Wow, I have 400 people." Even today,8:50I'm not like, "Oh my gosh, there's 9008:52people." I'm just more like, "I've8:54always stayed the same with my8:56feelings." Whether there's people there8:58or they dip or they don't. Some people8:59stay for like 6 months and then dip out.9:01Some people stay for 6 days and dip out.9:03I mean, it doesn't matter. To me, it's9:04more of like, do people walk away9:07changed? And that's how you know it's9:09it's God answered. And he did because if9:11he didn't like the Bible class, he9:13probably would have shut it down. He9:15probably would have made it complicated9:16and difficult. Like, all it needs is a9:19is a is a, you know, a Zoom and a and an9:22internet connection, and people were9:24able to just join. And again, this is9:26before you guys set up any platforms for9:27me to like, you know, paywalls and ACH9:30and all that. There was none of that. It9:32was just Venmo,9:34Cash App. Just straight gangster. Like,9:36I was hustling Bible class like yo, you9:38guys want some freaking9:39Genesis chapter 2? I got Genesis chapter9:413 next week. Like it was literally like9:43that and people were just like jumping9:45in and they loved it. And what's crazy9:47was it was way more expensive during9:49that time. Like it was like 20 bucks9:51each class. So four weeks 80 bucks. No9:54hangout session by the way. Just9:56straight Bible class and they were9:58>> jump the price?9:59>> [laughter]9:59>> No, and we're obviously super cheap now,10:01but it's like back then it was that. It10:03was one price10:05and it was every week and people were10:06lining up and people were just like like10:09and I was navigating I was helping them10:10and I was like dang, I can't do this10:12alone because there's some people who10:14are just like, "Where is the unmute10:16button?" You know that? "Bring me my10:18ginger ale." You know, it's like it was10:20difficult, but from that I learned and10:23I'm like, "Okay, God, there's trials and10:24tribulations with this, but there's just10:27it's not scalable to that point." But10:28even then I think by myself I had 40010:31people like 300 people, something like10:34that, right? Some crazy like that and it10:35was it was amazing. So, yeah. It's10:38crazy. You're not mind-blown by it, but10:39I'm mind-blown by it.10:41>> Yeah. It's crazy. And like when you see10:43these numbers online, sometimes it feels10:44kind of fake sometimes, just certain10:47just anyone online. You see a bunch of10:49numbers or it's hard to conceptualize.10:51But when you're in the Zoom and you see10:53hundreds of people with their cameras10:54on, you're like, "Wow, there really is10:56hundreds of people here right now." Like10:58you don't really notice or see that on11:00typical live streaming apps, but11:01>> True. it is crazy to see. It's different11:04to see a face because like like we'll go11:07on TikTok and there'll be 2.6 thousand11:08people and then like 1,000 1,200 on11:11YouTube and like collectively there's11:125,000 people, which is still nuts. But11:15you don't see faces, right? So you're11:16like, "Oh, it's just a number, 2.5, 1.11:19And then but when you go in the Zoom,11:20you're right. It's like every single11:23person is cammed up and you're just like11:26"Oh, that's how you look. Okay, you're11:27always commenting, but that's how you11:28Okay." And it's like kind of amazing and11:30I have to watch them to see if they're11:31paying attention. So, it's kind of wild,11:33you know.11:33>> genius little UI hack that any11:35livestreaming platform should do where11:37the creator can see on another screen11:39their faces if their audience turns it11:41on. Dude, that's actually genius.11:44>> You can see them laughing or reacting.11:46>> just be able to have like cams on.11:47>> Cams on cuz like I changed the mode from11:49like spotlight to gallery, and there was11:51just seven, eight pages of people11:55with cameras on. It's just crazy.11:56>> Figgity facts. Um Wait, okay. So, just11:59[clears throat] to summarize it, you say12:01you know it's God speaking if it's12:02working. But then it's still that12:04precursor, it's like should I do it,12:06right? A Bible class, no offense,12:08obviously you should do it because it12:10helps God. What about somebody who it's12:12the decision is not necessarily Like a12:15lot of times you say um God cares about12:17it most that you preach the gospel, but12:19that doesn't necessarily mean everyone12:21become pastors, right? So, and maybe the12:23decision isn't so specific like what job12:25should I do, right? But when the12:28decision is a little bit more blurry,12:31how like it's not just do it is it12:34really just do it and see how it Well,12:36the goal of everything is dependency,12:39right? So, like God works in formation,12:41so he's going to form you to then depend12:44on him. So, whatever it is that you're12:46doing, whatever decision you make, as12:48long as it makes you depend on God, it's12:50okay. Like Bible class, for example, I12:53did I had to depend on God. I couldn't12:55just pull it out and be like, "This is12:57what it means." cuz there's12:58repercussions to that, right? So, I'm13:00like, "God, I don't know what it means."13:01so I'd wake up in the morning and people13:04in my Bible class know, every time I do13:05a Bible class, before I start I read the13:08chapter five times. Like I just read it13:10over five times every single chapter,13:12whether it's Numbers 28, whether it's 4813:14verses, whether it's 56 verses, whether13:16it's 20 verses, I read it five times cuz13:18I know, right, through wisdom that five13:20represents grace, and I know by the13:22fifth time you read something, there's13:24going to be something that like it's13:25different than reading it the first13:26time. This is with everything,13:28regardless of the Bible, of anything13:29else. If you read something five times,13:31it's better than reading it one time,13:32right? So, start to retain information,13:34I start to grow, but I had to learn even13:37that thing. Like, "Dang, do you want me13:39to do the Bible class?" No answer.13:41Right? Okay, and when I'm doing the13:43Bible class, am I doing it right? No13:45answer. No answer whatsoever, but God is13:48like, "I don't need to answer because13:50just cuz you don't see me answering you,13:52like as you keep moving forward, you're13:54going to gain something out of it.13:56Whether it's an answer of no, you13:57shouldn't be doing this, whether it's13:59okay, you're doing it wrong, but if you14:00tweak this, it'll get better." Like, I I14:02had to learn that whatever I'm doing, at14:05the end of it, you're going to gain14:06something out of it. And that's why I14:08said, "It's either a lesson or a14:09blessing." Nine times out of 10, it's a14:11lesson, and then, you know, sometimes14:13it's a blessing or it's both. The lesson14:15is the blessing. It depends. But14:17basically, like to answer your question,14:19it's not about, again, if or, you know,14:22if I do this, if I do this. It's go14:24ahead and do it. If God doesn't like it,14:26you have to have faith that he's going14:27to stop you, he's going to close a door,14:30he's going to do that, right? How do I14:32know if God is saying wait or no or keep14:34going?14:36So,14:37very simply, if a door keeps closing14:39repeatedly, you apply for a job, let's14:41say, and then you keep it keeps on like,14:44okay, you get rejected here, rejected14:45here, rejected here. Like,14:47let's say I want to be14:49front desk at Walmart.14:50>> Yeah, front desk. Let's just say like14:52like14:53an assistant. And you keep wanting to14:55apply to this specific job as an14:57assistant, and it keeps closing. Nine14:59times out of 10, that's going to be God15:01saying no. But what people don't realize15:04is, when you're asking this question,15:06"When do I know if God is saying wait or15:08no?" They ask this not because they're15:10afraid of the wait or the no.15:12They're afraid of I don't want to do15:15something and waste my time. That's the15:17number one core issue. But that's what I15:19just suggested earlier. You're never15:21wasting your time, technically. Like,15:23even if you do something, it's going to15:25you're going to learn something from15:26that, right? So, all we ask, and what15:28we're told to, is move forward, because15:31when you move forward without having all15:34of these distractions in your face, or15:36having these answers, then you start to15:38shift from transactional mindset to15:41going, "Dang, I need to depend on God."15:43I legit have to depend on God for every15:47single thing. So, just move forward and15:50be like, "All right, what is it? You15:52know, is God going to show me this? Is15:53he going to show me that?" That's number15:54one. Now, how to know if it's a no,15:57again, he keeps on closing the door. But15:59again, when God closes one door, he16:02always opens another door. When God16:04subtracts something, he always does it16:06and then multiplies it. If you look at16:08the story of Job, if you look at Jesus,16:10like Jesus was in the Garden of16:11Gethsemane, and he prayed for God to16:13remove the cup of wrath according to his16:15will, and God didn't even answer him. He16:18didn't say yes, he didn't say no. He16:19just didn't answer him. So, even these16:22things happened where Jesus had to go16:23through it, Job had to go through it. We16:25are definitely going to have to go16:26through it, but that's the whole point16:28is called is when you go through it, you16:30grow through it, right? So, you're never16:31going to go through something and not16:33learn something. That's really, really16:34important. Now, how to know if God is16:37saying wait,16:39right? It's very simple. When you sit16:41there and you have this sense of desire16:44to do something, and you have this sense16:46of urgency to do something, you'll know16:48when God says wait is when your desire16:51is still there, but your urgency gets16:52removed. So, I'll give you an example.16:55If a person is sitting there like, "I16:56want to be a doctor,"16:58right? And they failed an exam, but17:00their heart is, "No, I'm still set on17:03wanting to be a doctor." And no matter17:04how much they fail, there's this heart17:07that like, "My calling is to be a17:09doctor," let's say. Then that is God17:11just shifting you, informing you, and17:13molding you, because he's closing the17:15certain doors to kind of like build you17:18up, right? He can't give you a certain17:19blessing that you can't handle at that17:21point in time. So, he's going to mold17:24you and open your heart a little bit so17:26you can carry this type of blessing. So,17:28waiting is very simple. It's If God is17:30telling you to wait, it's it's because,17:33you know, he's going to give you this17:34desire of I want that still, but you17:37won't have that urgency anymore, and17:39then you'll start to actually lean on17:40God. Okay, if this isn't for me right17:42now, that's not a problem. That's when17:44you know you've entered into waiting.17:46Now, a lot of people have gone through17:47that, myself included, where I sat there17:49and I was like, "Okay, I don't want to17:52do the Bible class.17:53Um I feel like it's Pastor Kim just shut17:56the door. So, maybe during that Bible17:59class, God is saying to Pastor Kim,18:02"Don't start your Bible class." But,18:04that's not what he said, cuz there was18:05still this itching in my heart to be18:07like, "I want to steward people and and18:09and disciple them." Cuz the Bible says18:11make disciples of many nations. Pastor18:13Kim is not giving me the notes. Ah, God18:16was basically saying, "Johnny, wait.18:17Don't lean on even your own teacher.18:20Lean on me." And so, when I leaned on18:22him and prayed and all that, all these18:24unlocks started to come to the point18:26where even Pastor Kim is like, "Good job18:28with that unlock. Like, that's deep."18:29Pastor John's like, "Dude, that's deep."18:31Other pastors in our in our mission,18:34even in the Bible class, they're like,18:35"Dude, how come Pastor, you know, this18:37pastor, that pastor doesn't preach like18:38you?" They're all from the same mission.18:40Well, it's because I've learned 100% to18:42study and like lean on God 1,000%18:45because of it. So, yeah. If you love18:47biblical lessons like this, then you18:49would love my weekly Bible class. Bible18:51class brings clarity, community, and18:53consistency. There are a lot of us who18:55read the Bible, but we don't know how to18:56apply that to our lives. Consistency18:59also, a lot of you guys want to read the19:00Bible, and you don't know where to19:02start, how to start, and therefore it19:04kind of discourages you guys to read the19:06Bible. So, every week at on Saturdays at19:0810:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time, we go19:11through one chapter, and we break down19:13every single verse and apply those19:15verses to your life. And after the Bible19:17class, we also do a group mentor session19:20where it's you can ask me customized19:22questions and anything about the class19:25and anything about your own life. If19:27this sounds interesting to you, you guys19:29can check the link in the bio and use19:31code wisdom to get 50% off your first19:33month. See you guys this Saturday19:36at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time.19:38Why Why again? You may have said, but19:40why don't they share their notes? Like19:42why is it what cuz multiple pastors19:44wouldn't share their notes?19:45>> more of like they saw my heart posture,19:47which was true.19:49It It was like I don't want to go and do19:51the research. I don't want to go and19:53like I don't have the confidence. I19:55don't have faith in God essentially. I19:57want to like be an immaculate Bible19:59class, which in itself is not bad, but20:01that's very transactional. It's like20:03saying like they'd rather me mess up and20:06move by faith than not move by faith and20:09have this perfect Bible class. That's20:11not what the goal is, but I couldn't see20:13that my mindset was the goal is to make20:16perfect disciples and perfect It's like20:18but who is the perfect disciple? There20:20is no perfect disciple. Everyone had a20:21blemish. God had to go through certain20:23things. Jesus had to fight people. There20:25was 70 disciples that then brought it20:27down to 12 cuz they felt like he was too20:29harsh and they left him. So it's like20:31these things even Jesus has to go20:33through, but I'm over here thinking like20:34I had arrogantly like I'm going to avoid20:36all these things and I'm going to find20:37loopholes and I'm going to be the best20:39gospel preacher and I'm going to The20:41best gospel preacher is not a person who20:42has everything down pat. The best gospel20:44preacher is even though they don't have20:46everything down pat, they trust and20:47believe and lean on God to make sure and20:50clean up all of the stuff. And that's20:51what I had to learn. I wanted cuz I'm a20:53perfectionist. And God was like,20:55"Johnny, you cannot be a perfectionist20:56when it comes to Bible class because20:58then they're going to lean on you and20:59not me." And that was the thing that he21:01taught me was like you need to learn21:04that and so I'm thankful to all the21:05pastors that didn't share their notes.21:07That was like, they were literally21:08propelling me to only lean on God.21:11That's right.21:12>> Yeah. Well, so do people in your Bible21:14class ask you for notes now? Like They21:16do. They do. But actually, it's not even21:18that. They take all of my notes, right?21:20Whether it's our Bible class, you guys21:22see it, whether it's21:23after service, they're literally like21:26taking hell of notes. People send me21:29making videos and scripts, screenshots21:32of like just Dollar Tree is making21:35bookoo money off us, man. Like they're21:36literally like buying all of these21:38notepads and like, "Oh, this is my21:40seventh notebook filled with notes." And21:42I'm like, "What the heck?" Like, that's21:45crazy. So, shout out to y'all if you21:46guys are, you know, taking notes and21:48stuff.21:48When do you think it's overkill and21:50they're taking too many notes and they21:51should just lean on faith? I think such21:54a good question. You're21:56If you're sitting there and you're21:58relying on the notes rather than the22:01hearing of the word, then it becomes a22:04problem. Like, I would say take main22:05points. Main points, take your notes.22:07But some people write every single thing22:09and they even tell us in the Bible, "Can22:11you stop? Let me like write it all." And22:13I'm like, "Here, look. It's recorded.22:15Let's move forward." But it's when they22:18start to be like, "These notes are like,22:21you know, I need to know every intricate22:23detail." That's when you're like, "No,22:25you don't." Because you don't know every22:27intricate detail of the Bible and yet22:28you still call yourself a Christian. So,22:30in the same way, it's not about knowing22:32every intricate detail. In fact, if you22:34know every intricate detail, then you22:36won't I would say you don't lean on God.22:38You then become very like knowledgeable22:40and logical and and puffed up. And then22:42you have no surrender. The whole point22:44is I may not catch up with these notes.22:46Notes are a tool. But when notes22:49replace, right? The And when they step22:52up from being a tool to being like an22:54idol, then it becomes a big problem22:56where you're like, "Dang. I need to know22:58these things. Like, I need to understand22:59this and then I can move forward and23:01have faith." No, having faith is I don't23:03understand but I can still move forward23:05no matter what cuz God got me. Do you23:07know what I also kind of notice in my23:09cuz I was also like when when you first23:11come to church or you first learn from23:12you, it is23:13v- mind-opening and you're like I need23:15to record this because it's helping my23:17life so much. So I was very much like23:19we'd go to church and take notes the23:21entire time Pastor Kim is preaching or23:23whatever it is or listen to your Bible23:25class and pause, right, you know, play,23:27keep going. But and and I was only23:30memorizing that stuff so that if people23:33ever ask me the questions, I can answer23:35them like you or Pastor Kim.23:36>> Yeah. And then it just got exhausting.23:39But what I noticed was like lately when23:41people ask me things, in the beginning23:44I'd be like I have no idea. I'd always23:45text you and be like, "Yo, how do I23:46respond to this?" or whatever it is.23:48And then now23:50the thought has changed where sometimes23:52someone's asking me a question or23:54challenging something of about how they23:56feel about God. And instead, the thought23:59comes to my head where I'll pause for a24:00second. Usually I'd rack my brain and be24:02like, "What does Johnny say about this?"24:04But instead what I've noticed is like,24:05"Okay, I'm going to just pause. God,24:07help me give the best answer and if I24:09don't know, just I'll tell them I don't24:11know." Level up.24:12>> And a lot of times a lot of times it'll24:14just be just an earnest answer that24:16they'll be like, "Oh, that's24:18interesting." or I just won't know but24:20they'll be like I'll be like, "I don't24:21know but like that's just part of faith,24:23you know what I'm saying?" And it'll24:24open up a different conversation. Yep.24:26So it's kind of interesting that it's24:28like over time that process does happen24:31where24:31>> Yeah. you feel less of the need to need24:34the perfect answer to be like,24:36"All right, God, like Yeah. I'm just24:38going to say something and see where the24:39cards fall." I think that that ties into24:41confidence, right? So like every new24:43believer24:45goes through that because they're24:46they're going through this validation24:48era where it's like24:50oh, like24:51I feel like I need to answer everybody's24:55question. And when you answer, it feels24:58good, but you also kind of don't want to25:00mislead people. So, it kind of puts you25:02in the position of I got to lead them,25:04but I don't know how. But, and if I25:06don't do that, then I'm not a good25:08Christian. So, God shifts us out of that25:10from performative feelings like that and25:12validating feelings to actual faith. And25:15that builds confidence. So, that that25:17changes with when your confidence get25:19built, right? So, as you're going25:21through these motions, which everyone25:23has to go through, it's okay. You don't25:24have to answer everybody's question. The25:26more you become confident with25:28everything,25:29the more you and more secure and like25:31become fluent in the gospel and literate25:33in the gospel,25:35the more you actually don't talk as25:36much. They say that about us all the25:38time. They said about me. They're like,25:40"Johnny25:41with his guests, I seen it in the25:43Georgenko. They're like, man, I wish he25:44would have said more." James Sexton's25:46part, "I wish he would have said more."25:48Like, "Why doesn't Johnny just say more?25:50He could have said so much. They should25:51have listened to him." Blah, blah. But,25:53what they don't understand is most25:54people, you kind of go from spitting25:57game,25:58the level up is going from spitting game26:00to listening to a person's heart, and26:02then gaining their heart, and then26:04letting them kind of just feel heard and26:07comfortable and understood. Because when26:10a person feels understood, you don't26:12have to say much because your heart is26:14connected. So, you could say a couple26:16things and they're like, "I got you."26:18Versus when you're trying to gain us a26:20person, you almost have to sway them.26:23So, you have to have bomb arguments, you26:25have to have good articulation, you have26:26to know what you're talking about, and26:27then they go, "All right." So, my job is26:29always to switch people out of check26:31boxing to going, "No matter what it is,26:34Johnny understands my heart." And that26:37part right there is what's going to open26:38up people to even listen to what you26:40have to say. And you And during that26:42time, if someone's listening, you don't26:44have to say much. It's just a simple26:45couple of things. It's a couple tweaks.26:48And you're basically like a spiritual26:49chiropractor. You're just realigning26:51certain parts. You don't have to do the26:53whole body. It's like, oh, you have neck26:55pain, boom, it's one of these like, all26:57right, I'm going to align this26:58spiritually for you. And27:00that's the level of for a lot of people27:02is they go from performative to finally27:06going, let me listen and hear, let me27:08listen to understand them rather than to27:10to assume or to protect or to project or27:13to, you know, formulate my my answers27:15before they're even speaking. When you27:17when a person sits there and goes, dang,27:18they hear me, they understand me.27:21Everything else doesn't become a27:22problem. Things become very minimalized27:25after that. The other part to that is27:27like why you didn't say much is you got27:28me on the podcast. So, it's like you27:30don't need to27:31>> [laughter]27:31>> I'm just27:32I'm just kidding. Okay, so how do you27:34make sure that when you're leaning on27:36God it doesn't become transactional?27:39Does that make sense?27:40>> Yes, by leaving the outcome with him.27:43So, leaving whatever he's going to do27:46with him. You can make your desires27:48known to God, but your desires can never27:50become expectations. Okay, so I want to27:52make 100k a month, let's say, right?27:54God, I prayed for you, you need to give27:56me 100k a month cuz I prayed and I27:58tithed. That becomes transactional.27:59Versus God, I would like to make 100k,28:02but if you don't think that's okay, then28:04you handle it, either you give me the28:06heart not to have want that heart of28:07100k or you make it so that it is28:11possible according to your will. So, you28:13just have to align with people. It's not28:15about28:17do I do this or do I stop? You're always28:18going to have your desires. If I tell28:20you guys to be humble, like that doesn't28:22matter, right? At the end of the day God28:24is going to humble you where he sees fit28:26and he's going to exalt where he sees28:28fit. There's times where you can't help28:30that. And all of this is part of God's28:32plan, right? You obviously have a choice28:35to sit there and28:36decide if you're going to follow God's28:38plan or not, but that's the whole point28:40is following God's plan is going, Lord,28:43can't do anything, you're You're to do28:45everything. I'm only going to make my28:47questions and answers and my feelings28:50and my desires known to you.28:52That's it. And you do with it what you28:55feel what you see fit. And it's it you28:58get to this position where even if you29:01get a dub or even if you take a L, you29:03don't react to it. Cuz you're like,29:05"Okay, the L was cuz God allowed it."29:08And sometimes you're wrong. Maybe I'm29:09like the L is, you know, I took a loss,29:11but God's like, "No, no, no, that's not29:13a loss. You just think it is." And then29:14he'll fix that, too. "Oh, I thought it29:16was an L, but actually it's a dub. Oh my29:19gosh, I didn't know that." We're trying29:21to figure it out. That's the biggest29:23problem. The biggest problem is like29:25I need to know an L is an L and a dub is29:27a dub. If that's the case, you're not29:30going to have faith. You You're29:31basically saying, "I don't want to have29:33faith in you, God." You know, it is okay29:35to want to know that, but even that you29:37have to bring it to God. Lord, if you29:39want me to know what this is what this29:41path is, then you let me know what this29:43path is.29:44If it's not,29:46then give me the heart to cultivate and29:47form faith inside of my heart to not29:50worry about the path or the the loss or29:52the W or the knickknacks and the29:53semantics. Rather, let me lean on you. I29:56believe, help my unbelief. And And And29:59it's very simple. It's very simple.30:02But it In In everything though, God's30:04primary goal in our trials and30:06tribulations, like why does God allow us30:08to go through hardships? Why does God30:10allow us to nurture faith? Like what's30:12the point of it? Why can't he just give30:14it to us? Because it's dependence. God30:17wants us to depend on him. When he When30:19you go out into this world, everything30:21is teaching you from kindergarten to30:23college to just social media to every30:26outlet is depend on yourself. God is He30:29has a lot of work to do, and then he has30:31to undo all of these things of30:32self-reliance, self-dependence. And so30:35he's going to use everything in your30:37life to make you depend on him. Good and30:41bad. Good and evil, right? People always30:43ask me this too, like Satan or earlier30:45this this morning we had a main stage30:47and the guy was like30:49why does God allow Satan to to to be30:51alive? Like I get why he created Lucifer30:53and then Lucifer chose to become Satan30:55and but why doesn't he just get rid of30:56him? Because Satan has a has a job to30:59do. People think Satan is doing all31:01these evil things. Satan is an exposer.31:05He will expose God will use him as a31:07tool to expose what you lean on.31:10For example, if you care about money,31:12then Satan will draw your heart to money31:15to then and then God will show you, see31:16you don't like me, you like money. He's31:19just exposing because love honors31:21choice. If God created everyone to love31:24and he removed Satan, then where is the31:27choice and the true authenticity of31:29choosing God and loving him? Everyone31:31would love him if that's the case,31:32right? So, God will allow certain things31:35to happen in your life so that you can31:37depend and also see yourself for who you31:40really are. Because the one thing I31:42notice about any human being, myself31:44included, we cannot see ourselves31:46accurately.31:47We think we can, but it always comes31:50down to like hearts change. Your first31:53love, for example, you can do this test.31:55Are they still your first love? You sat31:58there and you explored your life with32:00them, you loved them, you kissed them,32:02you you know, explored your bodies with32:05them, you gave up things to them. Some32:06of you guys have kids with them.32:08But what happened? You you're intimate32:10with them. You felt that deep desire.32:13You looked into their eyes, you're like,32:14dude, I'm never ever ever going to like32:17change. This is a person that I love32:19forever.32:20And yet things change. Why though?32:23Because God wants to show us. College32:25applicants as well. You go to college,32:27you get into college, you're like, this32:28is my degree, this is what I'm going to32:30do. And then you switch majors. Right?32:32It's like you're you're so set on32:35something32:36and yet the heart changes and it's32:38because you don't know that. Why does32:40God allow that? For you to know that.32:42For you to see who your heart it can be32:44deceitful32:45desperately wicked who can know it means32:47no one knows this. So the whole point is32:50dependence on God. That's why he allows32:52everything in our lives to just depend32:55on him. So the shortcut is depend on32:57him. It's to go hey God I don't know33:00what's going to happen. I'm going to33:01start this business like I did with33:03Jeremy and Aaron and be like I don't33:05know what's going to come out of it. If33:06they use me, if they don't, if we33:08collapse, there is a lesson or a33:10blessing in all of these things. And I33:12think that's how God has led everything33:15cuz me as a leader if I don't do that33:18then they're going to also do the same33:20and they're going to follow my lead and33:21things would just go worse. We get33:23people random people who just fit like33:26at the craziest times and I'm not33:29surprised by that because I know if you33:31surrender to God, this business is not33:34you know, your business, it's God's33:36business. In in the same stroke, if you33:38surrender your life33:39to God, your life is no longer your33:41life. God has to now take care of it33:43because you're depending on him. So the33:46smartest hack is to depend and lean33:49everything on him. Like I said, plan33:51boldly but surrender daily. Every day33:54you must plan, of course, right? If you33:56want to build a house, you have to have33:57a blueprint. But you have to also33:58realize like God will hold the materials34:00together, he will provide the materials,34:02he will all it's his house at the end of34:04the day and he's going to do what he34:06sees fit with it. Guys, daily34:08devotionals are back. Every morning I'll34:10send you a devotional that I personally34:12write rooted in scripture to help you34:13with your spiritual walk with God and34:16make the gospel a habit in your life.34:18There's nothing more powerful than34:19starting your day with his word. Join34:21over a hundred thousand others for your34:23free daily devotional. Sign up with your34:25email using the link in the description.34:27My hope's to help you guys grow with34:29your spiritual life each and every day.34:32And that's really tough. That's really34:34tough to do when you're on the {quote}34:36like downside of of what that plan could34:38be. Like34:39>> Yeah. Like for example, if the business34:41did collapse or you do have to lose it.34:43You're saying like it's about being34:44comfortable with that happening anyways34:46or just knowing that's a part of the34:47plan. It's like that's where I think a34:48lot of people struggle to Mhm. have that34:51submission when it's super34:52uncomfortable. As you talk about all the34:54time, but34:55>> Sure. it's tough. Yeah, but that's why34:57it's God's job, too. Like people think35:00that they have to submit and surrender.35:02No, no, the byproduct of surrendering is35:05you get defeated so badly that you just35:08give up. Giving up and surrendering is35:10synonymous with one another. It means35:12that they correlate, right? So people35:14think I need to surrender. When they ask35:16the question, "How do I surrender to35:17God?" It's like saying, "How do I get35:19knocked out by freaking, you know, Mike35:22Tyson?" It's like, "No, you just get35:24knocked out. You get laid out,35:25stretchered and everything, right?" Life35:27is like that Mike Tyson. It will lay you35:29out. And you will go through certain35:31things and God will press your limits.35:33He will test your limits. He will test35:35your faith to show you you don't have35:37faith so that you can distrust and35:39depend on him instead of rely on35:41yourself. He literally does that to35:43everybody I see, from Pastor Kim to35:45Pastor John to you guys to me. I just35:47watch from afar and I'm like, "Dude, God35:50is working right now in this brother's35:51life, in this sister's life." To do35:53what? To make them surrender. And when35:55they surrender, right, he saves the35:57spirit and rebuilds them. He breaks them35:59down, it says in the Bible, to then36:00build them up. Like we need to be broken36:03down because we're built up by something36:04else on a crooked foundation, which is36:06Satan, the enemy and through sin. And36:09then he breaks it down to then build it36:10on a holy foundation, which in the end36:13you can be thankful for. The level up is36:15you look back in hindsight and go,36:17"Dang, I wish I'm so glad I went through36:19those things." Because at that moment I36:21couldn't see, but now I understand why I36:23cultivated this, why I had to go through36:25those heartbreaks, those types of36:27relationships to show me what a real36:28relationship was, why I had to fail at36:30this business, why I had to quit this36:32job, why I had to get played and get36:33cheated on, why I had to cheat, why I36:35had to do all of these things to then36:37see who I am as a person that I cannot36:39rely on myself ever again, and I have to36:41fully rely on God. So, everything you36:43talked about beforehand was like about36:46how Satan exists for basically the36:49duality of like God36:51>> Yes. and how to exemplify love is36:54choice, all those things you just said.36:57But, if you guys could take a magical36:59bean and you would just follow God and37:01not have to deal with37:03figuring it out on your own, would you37:05eat that bean?37:06>> Oh.37:07Oh. Mhm. Whoops. I would I would eat the37:09bean. Yeah. I would take your bean, too.37:11I need37:12That's crazy.37:13>> not going to eat your bean. Wait, why?37:15Why? Because that's what happened to37:16Satan. He literally didn't take a37:18magical bean, but he was created to only37:20follow God. And in the end, when you37:23only follow somebody and you don't have37:25your choice, right? Cuz I think free37:27choice is a very good thing. I think37:28free will, obviously God designed it37:30into the plan for a reason. Because then37:32you're able to truly change, right? I37:34was talking to Mark Laidler about this,37:36and Mark was like, "It's so crazy. All37:39these people who are on Soft White37:41Underbelly, they changed drastically37:44because they went through the most37:46craziest things in their lives to then37:48make the decision to go, 'Yeah, I I went37:51through that and I don't want that37:52anymore.' And then they had this amazing37:55change where it's like37:57they they're solidified in their choice37:59where they're like, 'I walked that path38:01and there's nothing there for me.' And38:03that they're determined to change. And38:05he's like, "It's such a beautiful thing,38:07right?" And he was like getting38:07emotional when he was explaining. He's38:09like, "It's beautiful to see people go38:11walk the streets and do crazy stuff and38:14then come back and go,38:15'Yeah, I don't want to choose that. I38:16walked it and I realized it wasn't for38:18me.' And now when they do choose,38:20they're super disciplined, they're super38:22like hard working, they're super ethical38:25people and they're just it's just a38:26beauty inside of that. He's like versus38:28me and he was talking about himself.38:30Grew up in the suburbs, you know, white38:32American family, loved me and I'm over38:34here like yeah, like grass is always38:37greener on the other side. Oh, there's a38:38shiny object syndrome, you know, and he38:40said it straight up like that ruined my38:42marriage. I found a Colombian girl and38:44she was super beautiful and that's what38:46caused my divorce. And he goes and it's38:48it's because I didn't walk that path38:49early on. I was like, you know, suburban38:52kid, everything was amazing. God taught38:55me, you know, family and taught me38:57morals and and about God and all that38:58and I tried to live by that. But I was39:00still always like itching like, is this39:03it in life? Like no, there there must be39:05something else. And so for me, like I I39:08I think it's there's something about not39:10following God like Saul who then goes to39:14the road of Damascus and becomes Paul39:16and then really goes ham for God and39:19it's true authenticity versus like yeah,39:22I got everything I handed in like I took39:23this magic bean and of course I'm going39:25to follow God.39:26So you guys lose. I know, he's just39:28trashing my idea. Anyways, I'm selling39:30magical beans if anybody wants to buy39:32them.39:33>> [laughter]39:33>> Why would God even give you the thought39:35that there could be something better,39:36you know what I'm saying? He doesn't39:37give you that thought. What's up? He39:39doesn't give you that thought. No, but39:41I'm saying when he made all the angels39:42and he made Lucifer39:43>> Yeah. there was no no other evil entity39:46to tempt him, he just created that39:48thought so There wasn't evil entity to39:50tempt him, but it wasn't the temptation39:52that got to39:54uh Satan. Satan wasn't tempted, right?39:56Satan was39:57um he just thought he was good and40:00that's the whole point. When you eat a40:01magical bean and you only follow God,40:03there is that itch where it's like is40:06there there must be more to this cuz40:08think about it, it wasn't just Satan40:09that fell. Did you know there was a40:11third of heaven?40:13That means a third of the angels were40:15like40:16you're right, like they have the same40:17heart as That's a lot. Like I don't know40:20how many angels are in heaven. I'm I'm40:22assuming a lot, 3.7 billion. How do I40:25know?40:25>> sure if there's an if they say there's40:27an angel assigned to each person and a40:28demon assigned to each person, then that40:31means there's like billions, okay? So a40:33third is crazy amount. And and that just40:36goes to show it magnifies the the this40:39this almost poisonous thing of choice,40:42where it's like it's a beautiful thing,40:44but it's also poisonous, where if I40:46don't get to choose, I always want to40:48choose. And if I do get to choose, I40:50don't ever want to make the choice40:51again, right? It's it's very40:54I don't know, it's simple, but it's40:55difficult to explain. People40:58for me, I know a lot of people in the41:00church, for example. The church kids are41:02always like, "Johnny,41:04what if I lived the life you lived, made41:06money, women, cars, clothes, and then41:09right before I die, I receive41:10salvation?"41:11>> [laughter]41:11>> I've asked that question.41:12>> Literally, they they're like, "Why do I41:14receive salvation?" Cuz the kids are41:15like 16, 15, 17. They receive salvation.41:19And they're like, "Dang, I can't trust41:20my thoughts and I can't go and41:22experience women and have, you know, fun41:24and blah blah blah."41:25And and and that's why a lot of kids end41:27up leaving the church is because they're41:29like, "Nah, I want to go and do stuff."41:31But every time a kid leaves the church,41:33church doesn't panic. Like our church,41:36we don't panic. We actually are almost41:38like celebratory. We're like, "Amen. Now41:40they're going to go and discover why41:42it's bad to trust me." Like they know41:44theoretically and hypothetically and41:46they've been kind of under the the41:48fellowship of the church, of course, but41:50now when they go out there,41:52they're able to see41:54like what it really means to follow your41:56thoughts and be miserable. And then the41:58kids who do come back42:00always bomb testimonies, super upgraded,42:04super like, "I'm wrong. I should have42:06never followed myself."42:08Yeah, I get what you guys are saying.42:09And they have almost this renewed42:11respect and heart for all the servants.42:15I'd say that that's kind of me.42:17Yeah? Oh, you don't feel that?42:18>> Nah, you said you wanted to eat the42:20beans.42:21Well, I'm saying if there was42:23No, no, no, no, no, no. I'm just42:25kidding.42:25>> I'm not allowed to eat the beans? Then42:26I'm like a good God follower, you know?42:28>> No, no, you would be Satan and Jeremy.42:30Especially you.42:31>> that. I'd be the two-thirds of the42:32angels. There's42:35two-thirds that were fine.42:37>> no, no. They chose They chose They chose42:38too. Listen, when the When the angels42:40split, they chose too. They were like,42:42man, I'm going to follow God, too. That42:44was a temptation for them, right? Cuz42:45they're like, dang, I could go and do42:46whatever I want. Now, imagine you're42:48serving God all day. And you're just42:50like, man, I'm tired of this. You put me42:51in this in a role where I'm just stuck42:54here.42:55But Satan's issue was that he had42:57everything. That's the problem.43:00Following God, right? If you're a43:02perfect follower of God, you become a43:04Pharisee. Because if you look at the43:06Bible, these Jewish Pharisees had no43:09sin. There's no part where it could43:12it even records them sleeping around and43:14do They were like literally immaculate43:16almost, right? And they had their own43:18righteousness. But that made them super43:20judgmental. The reason why Satan wanted43:23the throne was because he thought he43:24deserved it. How could you ask for God's43:27throne? Because you think you're good43:29enough for it. And it's the good people43:31that crucified Jesus Christ. If you look43:33at it, it wasn't the woman caught in the43:34act of adultery. It wasn't people who43:36slept, you know, with with people and43:38boiled babies and whatever. No, it was43:40literally43:42the Pharisees who went to the Romans and43:44crucified him. So, it's always the good43:47people good people that end up going43:50against God the most. Because God wants43:53the unrighteous. He wants the lost. Good43:55people are not lost. They're43:57level-headed. They're logical. They're43:58big-brained. They're found. They They44:00have direction. They have discipline.44:02With all of these things that God44:03They're supposed to rely on God for,44:05now they have it all of a sudden like44:07Satan did and they're thinking, why do I44:09need to rely on him? And that's exactly44:11how their hearts are. A lot of these44:12atheists, a lot of these44:13philanthropists, a lot of these people44:15who rely on themselves are extremely44:17intelligent. They're not stupid people.44:20When you I see them like debating44:21Christians and Catholics, they even tie44:23them up. They're like, oh yeah, well if44:24this is this and this and they're like,44:26they're so studied44:28that people stumble even in their faith.44:30And it's because they don't need God.44:33Satan was number two in heaven. He was44:36made out of bagpipes. He was beautiful.44:38He was wise. Bro had music. Bro was that44:42dude. And everyone loved him and almost44:45worshipped him in a way. And his heart44:48wasn't that he was too evil. His heart44:50was that I'm so good, how come I don't44:52deserve the throne? And this is exactly44:55what causes people to err. Good people44:58judge because they're like, you're not45:00like me and I don't do that, so you're45:03you're bad.45:04Evil, wicked people can't judge others.45:06They know, damn, I messed up. I'm a45:08liar, he's a liar. I can't be saying45:10that I'm a freaking liar. I'm I'd be a45:12hypocrite. So it's always good people45:15who go against God the most because God45:17came for the lost. He came for the45:19ungodly. He came for sinners. He came45:20for the sick. Sick people have to go to45:22a physician as it says in the Bible,45:24right?45:25Same thing. Evil sinners search for God.45:28And so it's very, very, you know, it's45:31important to be able to have free will45:34and have free choice and actually come45:37to the position of a sinner because then45:39you have nothing to boast about. And45:41then God becomes everything for you. And45:44that's ultimately what God wants. Again,45:46the primary goal of God is forming45:49dependence in you to make you depend on45:52him.45:53That's it. We're hiring, guys. Core of45:55the Heart is hiring, but listen45:57carefully. We're not just building a45:59company, we're building one of the46:00fastest growing Christian communities in46:02the world. If you want to be the podcast46:32producer, show me the shows that you've46:34successfully produced.46:35>> We've learned the hard way not to hire46:37off potential. We just want to hire off46:38of pure experience. People who have46:40already proven that they can perform at46:41their skill set at the highest level. We46:43have jobs available in many different46:45departments, media and content, live46:47events, and marketing. We also have46:49remote jobs and LA-based jobs available.46:52If you're an A player that has mastered46:53their craft and wants to do something46:54that glorifies God, then please head to46:57the link in our description and check46:58out the job board. And lastly, if you're47:00an absolute beast at something and you47:01don't see it on the job board, please47:03reach out. I mean, you know, you might47:04be able to do it for us.47:05>> It might work out. So, if you're amazing47:07at something, you don't see the perfect47:08job description, just reach out. Tell us47:10what you're good at. Maybe it'll work.47:11Genuinely, I can't do this without a47:13team. So, I'm very thankful for anyone47:14who supports the mission. I look forward47:16to hearing from you guys. Mhm.47:19So, eating the bean would lose the47:20dependence.47:21>> 100% cuz now you can depend on yourself.47:24You can follow him and be like the47:25prodigal son's older brother. What if47:28the the bean has an ingredient that47:30makes you dependent on him?47:32Yeah, then we would just be human47:33beings.47:35>> [laughter]47:36>> Human beings? Them human beings.47:39I thought that you said human beings.47:41I thought [laughter] that you said human47:42beings. That is what I said, human47:43beings. Human beings. Then we'll be47:46human beings. Yeah.47:48>> [laughter]47:49>> And we're kids here. I'm sorry.47:50>> Um okay.47:53Why does it sometimes feel like God is47:54blessing others and not me? Mhm.47:56>> Because of timing.47:59So people don't understand timing.48:01God blesses everybody.48:03>> of time?48:04What do you father time?48:05>> Yeah, yeah, this guy he said people48:07don't understand time.48:09>> understand timing because different48:11timing, people equate timing to love,48:14right? So they think different timing48:16means different love. No, God loves48:19everybody equally, right? He's a just48:21and fair God. But there are certain48:23things that you receive at a certain48:24time and there are certain things that48:26somebody else receives at a certain48:28time. So they have this confusion that48:30if I don't get blessed based off of my48:33time, even if it's 10 years from now,48:35which I'll be patient enough to wait,48:37still your timing by the way, then48:40you know, all of a sudden it's almost48:42like they feel forgotten or they feel,48:44you know, not acknowledged by God or48:45they feel less favored because somebody48:47prayed and then they got it right away,48:49right? And so a lot of people get48:51frustrated.48:53But it's because they don't understand48:54that everything is in God's timing. So a48:575-year-old cannot get the same blessings48:59at a as a 45-year-old, right? If I'm 549:02and I'm in kindergarten, I can't start a49:04business at 5 years old. Like if I'm 45,49:06however, I can't be in kindergarten. I49:08should be starting a business, right? So49:10there's timings and and and things and49:12it talks even Jesus talks about this in49:15the parable in in the Bible where he49:17says people come to a vineyard and they49:19work and they get paid one wage. Let's49:22say it's $10, right? For the whole day.49:24And there's certain people that came in49:26the beginning and they're like, "1049:28bucks? All right, I'll work 8 hours.49:30I'll get paid 10." They agreed to that.49:32Then another person comes and it's49:34literally 2 hours left in the work day49:36and he's like, "$10."49:38And now all of a sudden this $10 that49:41they agreed upon doesn't look so good49:43because they only worked 2 hours. So49:45it's not about fairness, but when human49:47beings who are unfair use their own49:50standard for being fair, then they start49:52to judge God and dumb him down to like49:54if I feel like this, that's what it49:56should have been. God is talking about49:58grace. Hey, regardless if you worked two50:00hours or you worked 10 hours, you're all50:03going to get blessed the same. That's50:04what he was trying to prove in this50:06story, which is a very big unlock. But50:08people50:09they confuse different time with50:12different love. Okay, so if I get it at50:14this time and I didn't or I didn't get50:16at this time, it means God loves me more50:17or he doesn't love me as much. It means50:19I wasn't obedient enough or I was I was50:21obedient. No, different time is just50:23different time. It's not different It's50:25different timing, same love. People50:27think different time, different love.50:28God doesn't love me. He would he I'm50:30still struggling for 20 years. I've been50:32praying for this. And this guy freaking50:33literally came to church for two weeks50:35and he got the same thing. I've been50:36wanting that job and I I want to be an50:39electrician or something and in two50:40weeks he became an electrician. What the50:42hell is this? They start getting50:43frustrated. But God is trying to show,50:46do you trust me in the timing? It's not50:48your time to do that. So in that50:49scenario right there, 20 years wants to50:51be electrician, someone gets it in two50:53years. Is the 20-year person that like50:55let's say they were trying their hardest50:57to depend on God it from from their50:59viewpoint? Were they that dumb to be51:02ignoring the signs from God that they51:04shouldn't be an electrician or it's true51:06like It's all comparison. So51:09what God does when he withholds certain51:11things is to expose other things. So for51:13example, most people if you get if you51:16get mad that someone is getting blessed,51:19for example,51:20and the fact that you get mad is already51:23exposing your heart that you're51:25comparing. Like you feel like I need to51:28compare and I need to receive that51:31blessing. So you're already comparing.51:33Now God can't bless you if you're51:35comparing because then you're only going51:37to count your blessings based off of the51:38comparison. Okay, I have a million51:40dollars, but he got 10 million. So why51:42can't I get to It's He has You have to51:44get rid of that first. So at the core51:47root, right? If you feel like God, you51:50know, has skipped you because you51:52because others are blessed, that's what51:54he's exposing. Hey, you feel skipped not51:57cuz I skipped you cuz I'm God, I would51:58never skip you. That's absurd. I would52:00never show anyone favor over you, but52:03you think I do, so I can't bless you52:05right now. Because when I do, then52:07you're going to think the other way. Oh,52:08I'm favored by God, which leads to ego,52:11which leads to pride, which leads to52:12arrogance. I know so many people who are52:14blessed by God and they're like thinking52:16that it's their own blessing. It's like,52:17oh, because I tithed, because I fasted,52:19because I prayed. Oh, I finally52:21distrusted my thoughts, that's why God52:23gave it to me. No, God gives it to you.52:25He's the God of the good and the evil,52:28right? He blesses the poor and the rich.52:30He's not He's He's He's just because52:32he's graceful and he's faithful. So,52:34he's always trying to make us again52:37realize who we are. God will expose our52:40hearts. Even if it takes 20 years, it52:43only takes 20 years cuz you didn't you52:44didn't get it. You don't see your heart,52:47which sounds crazy, but God cannot bless52:50that. Like, if a kid if a kid is 5 years52:53old52:54and he, you know, loves I I see him,52:57let's say, stabbing things with pens,52:58right? Stabbing the couch or whatever it53:00is. Some of you guys have kids who do53:02that where they mess up the furniture53:03and they're five.53:05If they're 10 years old and they watch53:07things like samurai movies and like53:09swords and ninjas and they want a sword,53:11I'm not going to give it to them cuz I53:13know that they're going to stab up53:14stuff. Like, it's not cuz I'm cruel,53:16it's because the kid is not He's still a53:18kid in his faith. Now, you could be 4553:21years old, but you're still a child to53:22God. When your heart is not in the right53:25position,53:26you're asking God to bless you is53:28actually cursing you. Because if your53:30heart is not ready for that blessing,53:32you will fumble everything and you may53:33even hurt yourself or hurt other people53:35with it, right? If you give $10 to a53:39a drug addict, for example, they're53:41going to squander it like 100% but if53:44you give $10 million to like an53:45investor, somebody who's, you know,53:47mature enough and disciplined, then they53:49would probably multiply that. So, God is53:51he's smart. He's not going to give you53:53something that you can't handle. That's53:55what you have to accept. Okay, there's53:57probably something in my heart. If you53:59can have this heart to go, "If there's54:01something that I've been waiting for and54:02God hasn't been giving it to me."54:05You have to ask God to expose that part.54:08Rather than asking God fix it, you have54:11to ask God to expose it. "God, what is54:14it that you're not giving this like I54:15feel like I'm ready. Clearly, I'm not54:18cuz you could snap your fingers and give54:19it to me. What is it that I'm not54:22getting here? And if it's not for me to54:24get, then give me that heart to not54:26understand and just move forward and54:28move on from this cuz this desire in my54:29heart, this burning54:31thing in my heart wants it so bad and I54:34realize that you're probably not going54:36to give it to me54:37and I've already prayed for patience.54:39It's been 10 years, 5 years, however54:41many years. I'm obviously not getting54:43it. So, please show mercy on me and and54:45and give me the heart and give me the54:47grace to be able to learn. I guarantee54:49you if you ask it that most people don't54:50even pray like that. They never pray54:52like that. They pray for, "Okay, I'm I'm54:54going to wait and then I'm faithful and54:55then I have to have a job. Okay, you're54:57going to give me this job." Boom, they54:58don't get a job. "Okay, what what am I55:00doing wrong?" Like they pray this way55:02but it's still the heart of what? Give55:04me the job. Rather, it's like, "Okay,55:06you could have gave me the job. So,55:07let's move forward from that. You55:09didn't. Fine. It's been this long. You55:11could have healed me from this. You55:12didn't. Fine. What is it that you're55:15trying to teach me through this? Cuz I'm55:16not getting it. And if I'm not getting55:18it, please help me with that." I55:20guarantee you guys, you pray like that,55:22God is going to show it to you because55:23that you need a certain heart posture to55:25even pray like that. And we're giving55:26you guys a shortcut for that. Also, the55:28mindset that you guys have to have is55:30not why them. So, if if God is blessing55:33somebody, your mindset should not be why55:35them. It should be me, too. And what I55:37mean by that is55:38that same God that's blessing them, he's55:40going to bless me too in his timing. I55:42don't need to worry about that. He God55:43is a fair God. He's not going to just55:45give blessings to one guy and then be55:47like la la la la la like you know you55:50like he is not going to do that. He's55:52going to go oh wow, them being blessed,55:54I'm going to be blessed too. That's why55:56when I look at all the people who hate55:57on me, I'm like you guys are calling me55:59heretics, you guys are doing all that.56:01Why don't you see it as like dang if God56:03can help this guy who's a freaking56:05criminal, who literally has a GED56:07education, who's horrible, manipulated,56:10did all this of lied and everything and56:12was a biggest sinner, didn't even care56:13about God.56:15Man, I've been following God since I was56:1610 years old. Like how is God not going56:18to help me? Man, amen that Johnny Dang56:20gets lifted up because that means God is56:22going to lift me up and that means God56:23really is good to let somebody like that56:25step up and and and get a platform and56:27get famous etc. But instead people have56:29no faith. They look at it and they go56:31why not me? And then so they they tear56:33people down and they go yeah, you56:35shouldn't be doing that. You shouldn't56:36be doing this. Like I should be over56:38there. No, you should be in the same56:39position. Instead of why me, you have to56:41ask me too, right? You have to go me56:43too, me too God, you're going to help56:44me. Do you pray like that? What? Me too,56:47me too. I feel like you'd be like why56:49not me? Yeah. Why him? Anyone but him.56:53>> No, no, no, no, no.56:54I'm pretty good.56:55I'm I'm pretty good The other question I56:57was going to56:58First of all, you jerk. Oh, I'm just57:00kidding. No, you're not. There was truth57:03in there. Yeah, sometimes you're a57:04little bit of a doubting Thomas.57:07Me out of all the people? Me?57:10>> [laughter]57:11>> This guy's the kid. I don't know.57:14I don't know. All right, that's fair. I57:16am guilty.57:17I'm joking. The one thing I wanted to57:19ask was57:21why does it sometimes feel like God is57:23blessing me right when I don't feel like57:25I necessarily deserve it or in my head57:27I'm like there's still parts of me that57:29are feel selfish, you know what I'm57:30saying?57:31>> of feel he's trying to get you off of57:33your feelings. So, if God is blessing57:35you,57:36right? It's he's trying to prove that57:38you don't deserve it. That's another57:40thing that's a common misconception. I57:42only get blessed because I deserve it.57:44That's such a lie. We don't deserve57:47anything, right? In fact, if you look at57:48a human being, what is one thing that57:50we're going to receive, like every human57:52being? Death. 100%. So, we're all going57:55to die. In 100 years, none of this is57:57going to matter, right? And so, God is57:59like, "Even though you deserve only58:01death, I'm still going to give you life.58:02I'm going to give you all these58:03different Do you deserve it?" No,58:05there's evil people58:07every single day roaming this earth,58:10literally hurting people, and yet God58:13allows them to live. Why? Because God is58:15blessing everyone. That's what grace58:16does. It levels the playing field for58:18everybody. It doesn't matter about your58:20actions. It's, "Hey, I love you even if58:23nobody loves you." Now, I'm not58:24condoning that you guys should go out58:25and be evil, right? Because God doesn't58:27bless you more or less based off of your58:29behavior. He blesses because he's good58:32and his covenant. So, if you are asking,58:35"Why does God bless me even though I58:37don't feel like I deserve it?" That's58:39the whole point. He's trying to show you58:41that he's so good58:43that even though you don't deserve it,58:44he's going to give it to you, right? And58:46in the other end, even if you're doing58:48so good, your goodness is not the58:51goodness of God. Good intention is not58:53God intention. So, if you're [snorts]58:55doing things transactionally, then you58:57will get mad and be like, "Dude, I've58:58been doing all these things. How come58:59I'm not getting blessed?" Well, that's59:01the point. Well, how can he bless you59:03cuz he's going to nurture a59:04transactional mindset when he wants to59:06nurture a relational mindset. And a lot59:09of people are not relational with God.59:10They're transactional with God. "God,59:12give me this. Give me that. I did this.59:14I did that. Thank you for giving me59:15this. Oh, why are you not giving me59:17this?" That's like 90% of people's59:18prayers. Instead, you have to sit there59:20and go, "Lord, regardless if you give me59:23this or that. Whether you give me this59:24or that, you've given me everything else59:26that I didn't pray for, like my life,59:28like waking up in the morning, like my59:30children, like my money in my bank59:31account, like the clothes on my back,59:33like the food in my belly. Everything59:35that other people don't have,59:37literally. We had a59:38a kid recently pass away, right? In a59:41very tragic way. And he received59:43salvation. He was in Miami, and he59:44preached the gospel to a lot of people.59:46That's proof right there that although59:48he preached the gospel, he was his his59:50life was taken. He was 19 years old,59:53right? And he makes me he reminded me a59:54lot of my youngsters. And at the same59:56time there are people here who are59:58complaining on main stage, are59:59complaining on, you know, on Google, and1:00:01complaining on Reddit, and complaining.1:00:03And I'm like, how much more if this kid,1:00:06rest in peace Christian,1:00:08if he had one more day to preach the1:00:10gospel, if he had one more day like1:00:11them, would he be complaining? He'd be1:00:13preaching the gospel. And yet he can't.1:00:15So, people would say that's unfair, but1:00:17his own mom is in our main stages1:00:18saying, "I receive life from these main1:00:21stages. I'm thankful that he received1:00:22salvation." At his funeral, 40 plus kids1:00:26came, and they all received salvation.1:00:28They were all preaching the gospel.1:00:29Like, bro was putting in work even1:00:31though he passed away, right? That's1:00:33such a humbling, most beautiful thing.1:00:35And when I see videos of him, he1:00:36literally says the things that I say,1:00:38right? Like, he made this joke where1:00:40he's like, "I look at myself and I'm not1:00:42the savior. I'm just FedEx, right? I'm1:00:44just USPS. Like, I just plant the seed."1:00:47And everyone's like laughing and stuff.1:00:49So, when I see him, I'm like, man, it's1:00:50so cool. Like, he's like a mini me. And1:00:53yet, even though he's like that, God1:00:55took him, right? And it was like more1:00:57like, okay. And I remember him saying in1:00:59Miami, like,1:01:01"Johnny, I want to I want to be able to1:01:03like be up there with you one day. I1:01:04want to preach with you one day." And1:01:05the only thing I'm sad about is that he1:01:07can't do that with me. Other than that,1:01:09I'm very proud that for death, you know,1:01:11even though he passed away, people think1:01:13death is a is a sorrowful thing. For1:01:16Christians, death is not the end, it's1:01:18the beginning, right? He's up there with1:01:19God. He's rejoicing. He's happy. And you1:01:22don't got to worry about, you know,1:01:24dealing with crazy things anymore and1:01:26lust and, you know, the world and all1:01:27that. How I see it is he's free. He's1:01:30finally able to rest. Why would I be sad1:01:32about that? You know, I'm actually very1:01:34happy to have met a very very clean soul1:01:37like that. It's a to see a pure kid in1:01:39this day's generation where there's1:01:41distractions everywhere, there's lust1:01:42everywhere, there's vape everywhere,1:01:44there's weed and drugs and alcohol1:01:45everywhere. And he's like, "No, I'm1:01:47going to choose a priest the gospel to1:01:49my family and my friends and anybody I1:01:51came in contact with." And so, yeah, to1:01:54me, you know, death was a transition for1:01:56him to transition him up to God. He1:01:58really was like a1:02:00anomaly almost, right? A lot of people1:02:02are not doing that. Most people are1:02:03doing it for clout. They're doing it for1:02:05performance. They're doing it for look1:02:06at me, look at how great I am. He was1:02:08just like, "Bro, I just love the gospel1:02:10and I want to preach it. I want to be a1:02:11good dad to my kid. I want to preach the1:02:13gospel to my kid." And so, how beautiful1:02:15is that, you know?1:02:17Can the devil trick people into think1:02:19they're getting blessed?1:02:20>> Yes. The devil can also bless people.1:02:22How can you be aware if you're getting1:02:24blessed by the devil or not? Yeah, by1:02:26not focusing on the blessings and1:02:28focusing on the dependency. So, your1:02:31blessings should always make you depend1:02:32more on God. That Satan makes he will1:02:35use your blessings, even blessings from1:02:37God, to make you miss the blesser for1:02:39the blessing.1:02:40So, God will make God will always make1:02:42you will bless you to to make you depend1:02:45on him to formulate faith and nurture1:02:48your life.1:02:50Satan will always utilize blessings to1:02:52make you become God and be like, "See, I1:02:54got blessed. And now I have this and I1:02:56lean on this and this is all I want."1:02:58And that's the danger, right? We have to1:03:00be careful not to miss1:03:02the blesser for the blessing, right? We1:03:04We really have to be careful of that. A1:03:06lot of people miss the blesser, which is1:03:08God, and go, "This is what I want." And1:03:10that's why Jesus mirrored this in the in1:03:13the gospels. He was like, "I'm going to1:03:15heal you, but I command you not to tell1:03:17anyone about it. Why? Because he knew1:03:20people who would want to be healed would1:03:22only come to him because they want to be1:03:23healed. They want the blessing of being1:03:25healed with no surrender, no obedience1:03:27to God, no love of God, just1:03:29transactionalizing and using him and1:03:31accessorizing him. And so, that's how1:03:33you can tell, right?1:03:35What do you think would be worse,1:03:37believing in the wrong God or believing1:03:38that there's no God?1:03:40Mhm. Believing in the wrong God or1:03:43believing that there's no God. That's a1:03:44good question. Or are they the same? I1:03:47think it's the same. I have my own1:03:49thoughts.1:03:50>> the wrong God1:03:51is the same as believing in no God,1:03:53because there's no other God except God.1:03:55So, the wrong God is still a no God.1:03:59It's just maybe a God of this world, but1:04:01it has no power.1:04:03My thought was this. If you believe in1:04:06the wrong God, there's at least you1:04:08believe in a higher power. There's an1:04:09opportunity that you find the right God.1:04:12If you believe in no God, then you're1:04:15But what if your God is Satan?1:04:18Like there's Satanists. Yeah, but but1:04:20I'm saying you still believe in Oh,1:04:22their core values? Got you.1:04:24>> in the spiritual realm and maybe the the1:04:26real God you you could come across the1:04:28cuz I believed in the wrong God.1:04:29>> I hear what you're saying. Yeah, but but1:04:31no God to me, it's like you will never1:04:34accept it even if the right God came to1:04:36you.1:04:37>> I agree. It's almost the way I think1:04:38about with grace space and work space. A1:04:40lot of you guys who are followers were1:04:42work space. I would say 100% of you guys1:04:44who before you came to me didn't know1:04:46anything about grace. You thought you1:04:48were serving God. You thought you were1:04:49loving on God. And you did everything by1:04:52works. And then when I showed you grace,1:04:54you're like, "Oh my gosh." Like, so I I1:04:56think it's okay. Amen. Where it gives1:04:59you the foundation because Satan flips1:05:01everything, right? But God will also1:05:03flip everything back. And so, God wants1:05:05us to recognize that it's okay to follow1:05:08your heart and do spiritual things.1:05:11Um and even with the witchcraft stuff,1:05:13like I noticed that so many of our our1:05:17congregation used to be like1:05:18ex-witchcraft people, Wiccans, and1:05:20paganistic things, and they believed in1:05:22all of that stuff. And at the end of the1:05:24day, they realized, "Dude, I was1:05:26following the wrong god." I would But1:05:28they did believe in a higher power,1:05:30which, you know, if you think about it1:05:32foundationally, there is a higher power.1:05:34They're just trusting in the wrong one,1:05:35or they're misplacing that trust, right?1:05:38And so, yes, I actually agree.1:05:40>> When when you explain it like that,1:05:42that's pretty barbaric.1:05:42>> curious what more people come from what1:05:45more new Christians come from converting1:05:47or just finding faith, cuz it's like I1:05:49would think that no god is a clean slate1:05:52in a sense. You're more likely to just1:05:54hear something and maybe believe it1:05:55versus1:05:56the wrong god, that takes a lot of1:05:58unwinding. It's like if you grew up1:06:00learning something or your family1:06:02learned something, that's way harder to1:06:04convince someone out of than just a1:06:06clean slate. But I don't think it I1:06:08think in our congregation1:06:11though, most people are converted.1:06:13Really? Okay.1:06:14>> Yeah, like I know most people, yeah, are1:06:17converted. Sorry.1:06:18You're touching me. Sorry.1:06:21But yeah, okay.1:06:23Well, I just think about like I just1:06:25think about if it's clean slate and I1:06:26say Jesus walked on water, somebody that1:06:30believes in a god would be like, "Oh,1:06:31that's pretty crazy. Like I've been1:06:33possessed or I can see that." Where1:06:34someone else makes "That's No, dude,1:06:36you're crazy." Well, [laughter] I mean1:06:37there's levels to not believing in god.1:06:39Pe- people believe in certain things and1:06:40not others. True.1:06:43You pu- The thing that's bothering me is1:06:45you pulled that off the equipment.1:06:46That's the tightener for the base of the1:06:48mic. Yeah, but they're always floppy1:06:50anyways.1:06:51>> [laughter]1:06:52>> This can always happen at any time. I1:06:53just I know, but he's always just got1:06:55little pieces and parts.1:06:57>> Just know that this can happen at any1:06:58time.1:06:59>> You better Or we're going to ground you.1:07:00We're literally going to ground you.1:07:01jumping up. No, it's good. We're good.1:07:03Now, trust me. It's good.1:07:05Very fully intentional, by the way.1:07:07>> Yeah.1:07:08>> [laughter]1:07:08>> Okay, so a while back Pastor Kim had1:07:11said to you, he was like, "I hope God1:07:13can hold on to you and you can preach to1:07:14the very end." And that made you mad.1:07:16Yeah. Why did that make you mad? Because1:07:19I had a thought of like, "God is holding1:07:20on to me, bro."1:07:22What's up then, bro? Yeah, but like,1:07:24what was the context where you would1:07:26take that ang- like in a angry way?1:07:29>> I got frustrated because I thought that1:07:31I was a good person. There's times where1:07:33my heart will also shift in a way where1:07:35it's like, "Man, I'm a good person, you1:07:37know?" And I think I'm doing okay. Look,1:07:39God is blessing, God is working,1:07:42um you know, he's building our1:07:43congregation, we recently became a1:07:45church, etc., etc., like It's working.1:07:47>> It's working. And he's like,1:07:50"I hope." Right? That those words of "I1:07:52hope God can hold you hold on to you1:07:54till the end."1:07:55>> [snorts]1:07:55>> made me think like it almost sounded1:07:57like1:07:58>> Condescending? Like, "Okay."1:07:59>> not condescending, but more of like,1:08:02"You1:08:04It was It was I think for me it was1:08:06scary.1:08:07I think for me it was like, "Dang, so is1:08:10God not holding on to me?" Mhm. And then1:08:13and then it made me feel like, "Oh, he's1:08:15attacking me." Because when I get1:08:18afraid, my fight or flight when I get1:08:20scared, I don't get scared. I'm not Like1:08:23I don't freeze, I get mad. Like I'll1:08:25I'll I'll legit fight, right? So,1:08:27when he said that, immediately I felt1:08:29the callousing and the tightness in my1:08:31chest. It was like,1:08:33"So, what do you mean, Pastor?" Right?1:08:34And I tried to listen, but at that1:08:36moment I just couldn't. And he's like,1:08:37"No, I'm just telling you1:08:39that my hope is for you is for God to1:08:43hold on to you till the end. Because who1:08:46knows?" And he And later he clarified1:08:48what he meant, which was, "We don't know1:08:50if we're going to go or not, but all of1:08:52it we count it as glory." But I didn't1:08:54see it like that. I saw it as like,1:08:57"What do you mean?" And then just that1:08:59word, I'm so glad he said that, revealed1:09:01many things. That number one, I wanted1:09:03to hold on to my congregation. Number1:09:05one, I wanted to hold on to my destiny1:09:08and that I want to preach the gospel1:09:09till the very end. Little did I know1:09:11there was already expectations rooted in1:09:14that was very subtle, but like that one1:09:16word revealed my heart. I wasn't Pastor1:09:19Kim didn't say anything bad. And when1:09:21that happened, I realized something. Oh1:09:23my gosh, I'm good. I think I can hold on1:09:26to my congregation. I think I can stop1:09:28sinning whenever I want. I think I can1:09:30preach the gospel till the end whenever1:09:31I want. I think I'm things are working1:09:34and I'm getting blessed because I'm1:09:35doing the right things like1:09:36surrendering. No, no. God is blessing us1:09:39because he's pity he's pitiful towards1:09:41us. He's giving me mercy. It's not just1:09:43because I'm obedient. There's tons of1:09:45people who are obedient like the people1:09:47in the Bible that didn't get blessed.1:09:49People got their heads chopped off. They1:09:51got shot down with arrows. They got1:09:52stabbed to death with swords and God1:09:54promised them that they would make it to1:09:56the end and they didn't. And so, a lot1:09:58of the times I was misconstruing this1:10:01mind this idea of if I do good, that's1:10:04why I'm getting blessed. And I didn't1:10:05even realize cuz the heart is deceitful1:10:08that you get into that position. And so,1:10:10so1:10:11>> [snorts]1:10:11>> um1:10:12I started to condemn myself after that.1:10:16Right there, I had these thoughts and it1:10:18was in the Discord. I cried [snorts]1:10:19because I was like, "Dang.1:10:21My mind is telling me, Johnny,1:10:25you're getting butt hurt and it's been1:10:2710 years with Pastor. You're still1:10:29getting butt hurt. So, right there, what1:10:32is that what what is the heart1:10:33underneath that? You're good. You need1:10:36to stop doing that. Bro, it's been 101:10:38years and you haven't changed. What the1:10:40hell is wrong with you? Are you really1:10:42listening to Pastor? Are you really a1:10:44Christian? Dude, you're a fraud, bro.1:10:46You're not happy. What the hell's wrong1:10:48with you? And it started to spiral like1:10:50this. And the number one thing I learned1:10:52that day1:10:53was Satan can never stop me from1:10:57preaching the gospel, but he wants me to1:10:59forfeit. He wants me to give up. Pastor1:11:02Kim wasn't the one that said leave.1:11:05I It wasn't even me. It was the enemy1:11:07going, "See? You spent 10 years, right?1:11:09You fraud. You suck. You still struggle1:11:12with anger and depression and lust,1:11:14let's say, and all these things. You're1:11:16a fraud, bro. You can't do this. Look at1:11:18you. You know, they're right about you.1:11:20You are a heretic." You And I was just1:11:22like, it wouldn't stop. And I realized,1:11:26all right, I had made a determination in1:11:28my heart to be like, I got to talk to1:11:30Pastor, but I'll be honest, my heart1:11:31already left the congregation. I'm like,1:11:33man, whatever, dude. I never did this1:11:34for fame anyways.1:11:36It's so much better to sit there and1:11:38just go to prisons and talk to real1:11:41dudes who I feel I can connect to and1:11:43not have cameras around and have an1:11:45honest discussion cuz they hella show1:11:47respect. They don't ever question and1:11:49and you know, try to act crazy and I'm1:11:51not under a microscope of everything and1:11:53they look, literally every week they're1:11:55waiting for me to go and visit them than1:11:57to deal with people who don't even know1:11:58who I am and all these unsolicited1:12:00opinions. And so I I I I quit in my1:12:03heart. But during that time when I made1:12:05that determination, it was like1:12:06clockwork. Pastor John called me.1:12:09And the words that he said which cracked1:12:11me was,1:12:12"Hey bro, I miss you and I hope I hope1:12:15you know that like, no matter what you1:12:17do, right? God still loves you." And I'm1:12:19like, what? Like, why would he say that1:12:22in that moment when I was like, I want1:12:24to leave, I want to run away. And he1:12:26showed me that I started crying. So I1:12:28was bawling and he was like, "Yeah, what1:12:30what's going on?" And I and I shared1:12:32everything. And he showed me,1:12:34"You know, only good people get1:12:36condemned.1:12:38Only good people get condemned." He1:12:39said, "Because if you're wicked and1:12:41you're evil,1:12:42then you just acknowledge that about1:12:44yourself and you don't really have a1:12:45conscience. You're not like, 'Oh, I'm so1:12:47bad, I did this.' You're just like,1:12:48'Yeah, that's who I am. I'm kind of1:12:50crazy, I'm messed up, I'm wicked.' So it1:12:52reminded me of Polanski. When we went to1:12:54Polanski and we met P Dog. I don't know1:12:56if you guys remember him. He was a black1:12:58dude on the left side. Remember there1:12:59was two people on the side? There was1:13:01like a Hispanic dude and they all had1:13:02extended stays of execution. He was1:13:04bald. Yeah. Bro was Bro was basically1:13:07like, you know, um just a real real nice1:13:09dude, but he was in there for, you know,1:13:11like serial murders, right? And he was1:13:13in there for a long time. He was in1:13:14there since he was a teen and he was1:13:16like 50 and he got a extended stay of1:13:18execution 3 days. And that third day we1:13:21went there and we preached. And bro sat1:13:24there and he shook my hand. And, you1:13:26know, he was telling me some things1:13:27that, you know, they say very explicit1:13:29things, they treat them like dogs. And1:13:31he's like, "And And none of us really1:13:33fight back." And I kind of thought about1:13:35it, you know, why? If someone called me1:13:37a negative derogatory term, I would be1:13:39like, "What?" Like I would want to fight1:13:41back. But he's like, "Because what they1:13:43say What they say, I'm worse than that."1:13:46That's That was his own words. Like,1:13:47"I'm worse than what they say. They know1:13:49I'm I'm in here for a reason. Like I'm1:13:51not in here because I was a good person.1:13:53I know I'm wicked." And so, that's when1:13:56I realized, dude, good people can never1:13:58say something like that. Wicked people1:14:00go, "I acknowledge myself that I'm bad1:14:03and I mess up and I have no excuses. So,1:14:05call me whatever you want because I'm1:14:07even worse than what you actually think1:14:08I am." Gospel Bot is officially live. Check the1:15:32link in the description for sign-up1:15:33instructions. Can you explain the depths1:15:35of Romans 8:31-32?1:15:38So, Romans 8:31-32 talks about who can1:15:41lay a charge to God's elect? It is God1:15:44who justifieth. Who condemneth thee?1:15:47Right? It is God who justifies us. And1:15:49so, it goes on to talk about us being1:15:52more than conquerors. Now, God1:15:54understands one thing that as people who1:15:57are believers, we will always face1:15:59accusation, persecution, condemnation.1:16:02And when I saw this, I realized I wasn't1:16:06believing in that word. I was trusting1:16:09what I saw and I was condemning myself.1:16:12Now, when God says, "Who can lay a1:16:14charge to God's elect?" Meaning he1:16:16elected you, I chose you. Johnny, I like1:16:19when I read that verse, it spoke to my1:16:20heart. You know, I created you the way1:16:23you were, Johnny, and I elected you and1:16:25I chose you above my son. When you look1:16:28at scripture and it talks about Jesus1:16:30being forsaken, he says, "Eli Eli lama1:16:33sabachthani." And literally means, "God,1:16:36God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"1:16:39God forsook Jesus for all of us. He sent1:16:43Jesus 2,000 years ago to die for all of1:16:45our sins. Now, I understood that up1:16:47here, but for the first time when I read1:16:50that scripture, I was able to see,1:16:52"Dang, even if I condemn myself, even if1:16:55the whole world condemns me,1:16:57it is God who justified me and God who1:16:59chose me." That in itself brought so1:17:02much peace inside of my heart. So, if1:17:04you guys are feeling condemned, if you1:17:07whether it's family members, your kids,1:17:08your spouse, your own self, most of us1:17:11condemn ourselves before it even reaches1:17:12our family members, right? Um you have1:17:15to read those verses and go, "Man,1:17:17although I condemn myself, I'm so1:17:19thankful that God doesn't condemn my1:17:21doesn't condemn me." Although I remember1:17:23my sins, in Hebrews 10:17 it says the1:17:25Lord doesn't remember your sins anymore.1:17:28Like, although I remember my sins,1:17:30although I condemn myself, God doesn't1:17:31remember my sins and he doesn't condemn1:17:33us anymore. So, it was so deep. I've1:17:36read I've read Romans 8 so many times.1:17:40I've read the Bible 26 times, but I read1:17:41Romans specifically more than that. And1:17:44I never really understood I was like,1:17:46"Oh yeah, God can He justifies and He1:17:48doesn't, you know, condemn people." And1:17:50it was that simple. But that whole1:17:52chapter is about condemnation and1:17:54self-condemnation and all things related1:17:57to condemnation. And it hits different1:18:00when your heart reaches a position which1:18:03is soil for that seed which is the word1:18:05of God to like enter. So, I heard it so1:18:08many times, read it so many times, but1:18:10that's the first time that it hit me to1:18:11where I literally was bawling. I1:18:13couldn't stop crying. Not cuz I I wanted1:18:17to, but I was like, "Dude, I finally1:18:19tasted maybe 10% of what God's heart was1:18:23towards me through that one verse." And1:18:25it was so powerful. It's like He was1:18:28basically speaking to me, "Johnny, who1:18:30can condemn you? Who can judge you? I1:18:33already judged you and I don't condemn1:18:36you. I've justified you. I've sanctified1:18:38you. And it was a1:18:40It was almost like I was getting1:18:42spiritually hugged by God. You know,1:18:43it's the weirdest thing. And it's not1:18:45leaving a feeling. It was just more of1:18:46like, "Wow, God. I'm so stupid. I'm so1:18:51foolish that I cannot see you even1:18:54though I've studied the Bible so many1:18:56times. I cannot see what you're saying1:18:58to me unless my heart posture is in the1:19:01position where you have to break it to1:19:03that position." So, God allowed my heart1:19:05to get lifted. God allowed me to feel1:19:07like I was good to teach the deeper1:19:09lesson through that, which was Romans 8,1:19:11which was condemnation versus1:19:12conviction, which was you're not good1:19:15and that's okay that you're not good,1:19:17and that I actually want to work with1:19:18you because you're weak. I don't want1:19:20you to be strong cuz you don't need me1:19:21then. You'll rely on yourself. You'll1:19:23never rely on me. And so, through that I1:19:25was able to be like, "Dang, God. Thank1:19:28you." I felt extremely loved by God.1:19:30Like, "Whoa, I'm weak and you still1:19:32choose me?1:19:34You knew I was going to be like this, a1:19:35runner, and you still love me? You knew1:19:37I was going to be dumb dumb for real and1:19:39never even think that I know about God1:19:42and then show me, 'Hey, you really1:19:44don't.' And still want to work through a1:19:46person like me?"1:19:47It was just Yeah, it was the most1:19:50freeing thing I felt in a1:19:52Other than salvation,1:19:54being freed and realizing my sins were1:19:56washed away and I was perfected, that1:19:57was the only other time that I was truly1:20:00felt like I was free again. Like, "Oh my1:20:02gosh, Lord, you freed me from all of1:20:03this." And yeah, I don't think God would1:20:06want me to run away. It was more of1:20:07like, "Johnny, I love you and I don't1:20:09want you to run away. The issue is Satan1:20:11is trying to make you feel like I'm not1:20:13there because all Satan has to do is1:20:16distract you. He just has to convince1:20:18you that God is not there and God's done1:20:20with you. And then I'll start living1:20:22like God is done with me." Even though1:20:24God is there, God He also taught me1:20:26through Romans 8 that God cannot1:20:28separate from us, right? God talks about1:20:30it. He cannot pluck anything from you.1:20:32You know, I I used to think, you know,1:20:34sin was separation from God.1:20:37But I1:20:38after feeling all of that sadness and1:20:40kind of going to that position of1:20:41humility, I was able to realize1:20:43something. How can God, who's omniscient1:20:46and omnipotent, meaning he's everywhere1:20:47all the time, knows everything all the1:20:50time, ever be separated from you?1:20:53Like even King David says, "Even if I1:20:55make my bed in hell, you're there." He1:20:58can never actually separate from us. And1:21:01yet, I was under this impression that if1:21:03I did something,1:21:05I I have to separate from the1:21:07congregation and I have to separate from1:21:08you. God's like, "Bro, you're you're1:21:10you're conjoined to me. There's nothing1:21:12you can do to separate from me." And1:21:14again, I felt that love of like, "Dang,1:21:17God, you genuinely love me. And I don't1:21:19even love you and I don't even care1:21:21about you and I don't even know your1:21:22heart." And I couldn't fathom, still to1:21:24this day, why he loves me so much, even1:21:27though I'm rotten to the core, even1:21:29though I don't understand him, even1:21:31though I'll always always always mess1:21:32up. And I'm so thankful to God that he1:21:35he loves me. And it took me a whole week1:21:37to really go through this. And even when1:21:39I spoke about it on Main Stage, I cried1:21:41because it was difficult. You know, I1:21:42don't want to get emotional, but it was1:21:44difficult to be like, "Dang." Not in1:21:46that it was a bad thing. It was like he1:21:48used the bad things to expose and then1:21:52almost to rebuild everything. And so, it1:21:54made me feel very thankful. Till this1:21:56day, I have that thankfulness in my1:21:58heart towards God. Like, "God, thank you1:22:00for letting me go a little crooked to1:22:02then show me who you are to me."1:22:05It was wild. It was wild. If you guys1:22:08want to see the actual Johnny kind of1:22:09talking about it when it was closer to1:22:11the thing, you just look up the I1:22:13crashed out episode on our page. It's1:22:15the crazy. It was crazy, which is why I1:22:17wanted to bring it up again only because1:22:19this was1:22:21um this has a bigger audience.1:22:23But, it was a really really good1:22:24episode. And I think that that's what's1:22:26special or or why people draw to you1:22:28honestly is your vulnerability.1:22:30And I think that like Yeah, ultimately1:22:33like you make the Bible make sense. I1:22:35think God has blessed you in that way.1:22:36Amen.1:22:37>> you did run away no one would subscribe1:22:39to your only fans, which is what you1:22:41talked about in that episode.1:22:42>> I was thinking crazy things. I'm going1:22:45to be honest. I thought crazy things. I1:22:46was like, should I do only fans? And I1:22:48was like, I know some of you guys will1:22:49be like, "Hey, he's being Adam and Eve.1:22:51It's biblical. He's naked." I'm just1:22:54kidding. No, he even had the marketing1:22:56of it. He was like, "Imagine." He's1:22:58like, "From faith to only fans." or1:23:00something.1:23:01>> [laughter]1:23:01>> You said that.1:23:02>> that.1:23:02>> Yeah, you said some crazy. He was like1:23:04He was like, "Dude, like imagine that. A1:23:05pastor that then becomes an only I was1:23:07like, "Bro, that would1:23:08>> be nutty. I would Adam 22, you know what1:23:11time it is? And then Oh my [laughter]1:23:12god. I was just like Bro, would jump on1:23:14that so fast. Like, "Hey, Johnny, what1:23:16do you" Like it was I I Guys, um I mind1:23:19is is crazy. Like I But I will be honest1:23:22with you about those things, you know?1:23:23And if I withhold any truth, it's only1:23:25for your guys' sake. Like, we don't mind1:23:28telling the truth to people, but there's1:23:29some people who are like, "Oh my gosh,1:23:30he said that." Like, guys, we're human1:23:33at the end of the day. Like, it's okay1:23:35to be open and honest about these1:23:36things. I was talking about it and I1:23:39didn't agree with it. I didn't consent1:23:40to it. Remember,1:23:42having intrusive thoughts, you're not1:23:43your thoughts. Thoughts can shape1:23:45reality, but only if you give them the1:23:47power over your reality. Like, if you1:23:49consent to temptation, that's when it1:23:51becomes a problem. When you have those1:23:53thoughts and you agree with those1:23:54thoughts, that's when it becomes a1:23:55problem. But not every thought is from1:23:58you and not every thought is from God1:23:59either, right? So, you have to be1:24:01cautious about those things. But when my1:24:03thoughts came up, I was honestly kind of1:24:06almost negotiating with it. Well, if1:24:08this happened, this happened. And again,1:24:10I wanted to show you guys that I'm1:24:11human, too. I'm not above the1:24:13congregation. If anything, I think I'm1:24:15below the congregation. When I look at1:24:17every person in the congregation, no BS,1:24:19like they all are better than me. Like1:24:22when I look at them and I see I read the1:24:23anonymous struggles sometimes and I'm1:24:25like, "Is that even a struggle?"1:24:27>> [laughter]1:24:28>> Like, "Damn, that's what they're like,1:24:29oh, I struggle with forgiving, you1:24:31know?" And I'm just like,1:24:33"Damn, like just don't forgive them, you1:24:35know?" It's like1:24:35>> [laughter]1:24:35>> I'm just, you know,1:24:37genuinely and I'm like, "Damn, do you1:24:39know if you thought if you played my1:24:41mind in a highlight reel,1:24:43all of you guys would be like, "Oh, hell1:24:45no, this is our pastor. Dude, for sure1:24:47he's a cult leader, you know? He's He's1:24:49also freaking a a lustful piece of1:24:51garbage and a a spiteful and, you know,1:24:54angry and murderous person." Like you1:24:55would see1:24:57every single thing. Like all the bad1:24:59deadly sins and whatever, like that's1:25:01I'm a big back, gluttony,1:25:03sinful and lustful. It's like so many1:25:06things, right? Wrath, all that.1:25:07>> Mean Mean to Jeremy. Mean to Jeromskis.1:25:10I don't kill Jeremy like 17 times in my1:25:13heart and I'm just kidding.1:25:14>> [laughter]1:25:15>> Sleezy's dying.1:25:16Me, too. Jump him. Jump him.1:25:19Yeah, [snorts] but it's just it's it's I1:25:21think there's one thing about being1:25:23vulnerable that is a superpower in that1:25:26it's it's You guys ever seen the the 81:25:28Mile scene where like B Rabbit where1:25:31Eminem like just clowns himself? Yeah,1:25:33yeah, yeah, the rap battle.1:25:34>> He has like nothing else to say. Like1:25:36low-key, that's the hack. It's like,1:25:38"Hey, I acknowledge everything about1:25:40myself. Say whatever you want." It has1:25:42no more power because it's like once you1:25:45fully expose yourself, then1:25:48you're just open to ridicule, yes, but1:25:50that's also what God loves. It's like he1:25:52shows everyone's blemishes, too. In his1:25:55timing, in his way, and through that,1:25:57you're able to then lean on God. Because1:25:59if you guys are struggling with lust,1:26:01that's a good thing because you're1:26:02actually leaning on God because of that,1:26:04right? And the fact that you're1:26:05struggling, I always say this, is proof1:26:07that you're saved. Because if you1:26:08weren't saved, why would you care about1:26:10that? I know so many people that are not1:26:12saved even now and they're just like,1:26:13"Hell yeah, I want a threesome. I want1:26:15to do like what what they There's no1:26:17breaking system for them. They're heat1:26:19like they're just heathens straight up,1:26:21right? And they don't care and they like1:26:23that too. They're like, yeah bro this1:26:25fool over here like he's Christian bro1:26:26got to lock up his you know whatever1:26:28like I could do whatever I want. Like1:26:30there is no conviction inside of them.1:26:32So the fact that you're like man I1:26:34shouldn't be doing this is a good thing.1:26:36Don't make it spiral to where you're1:26:37like I'm weak and I got to leave and God1:26:39hates me. You have to realize like okay1:26:42because I'm like this I need God.1:26:44>> [laughter]1:26:45>> Hey but honestly like that's why I call1:26:48out Aaron's like all your blemishes. I'm1:26:50helping you guys. Mhm thank you.1:26:52>> No no. Thank you. No see this is why I'm1:27:12so humble. He never talks about his1:27:14blemishes. Aaron will talk about his1:27:16blemishes. Now I'm just kidding.1:27:17>> I'll talk about his blemishes.1:27:19>> Yeah he'll talk he'll talk about his1:27:20blemishes. He'll talk about my1:27:21blemishes. He'll talk about the freaking1:27:23Elijah's blemishes.1:27:24>> Because I'm trying to help, right? God1:27:26was like yo help these people. They need1:27:28you.1:27:29>> stop cuz people seeing this are going to1:27:30be like, you know what? That's what I do1:27:32to people. They're going to take it for1:27:33real bro. Can I ask one Am I allowed to ask1:27:46one more? No.1:27:47>> Boss of the You're good.1:27:50>> [laughter]1:27:51>> You know why I said no cuz I know you're1:27:53hungry. I'm hungry.1:27:54>> Yeah why don't you pay me?1:27:55>> So hungry. You guys don't understand1:27:58okay? I've literally been sitting here1:28:01I've literally I'm so hungry. I've been1:28:04sitting here for the past four five no1:28:06Five days? You haven't eaten for five1:28:08days? seven days seven days1:28:11sick literally sick sore throat all that1:28:14and I I could not eat anything. Jeremy1:28:17put this thought in my mind. He goes,1:28:19"The reason why you're sick is cuz you1:28:21eat like booty. Like it's horrible,1:28:24right?"1:28:25And I'm like,1:28:26"Okay. So, what do I do?" He's like,1:28:29"Eat more healthier stuff." And I'm1:28:30like, "All right. All right, Mom."1:28:32Right? So, I go and I I literally have1:28:34been eating chicken and rice1:28:36like it's like coming out of my ears,1:28:38man. It's so And fruit, finally.1:28:41>> Fruit. Okay, I've been eating fruit. But1:28:43before you start to condemn me,1:28:46why don't we Just know that I have your1:28:48Uber Eats. Like you use the company1:28:50card, so I see the thing and you're1:28:51you're eating like booty. He pocket1:28:53watches. Yes, he pocket watches me.1:28:54>> You're eating like booty. So, you tell1:28:56me So, so wait, wait, wait, wait. Let's1:28:57ask the comments. What do you think is1:28:59healthier, guys? Chicken, rice, fruit,1:29:01you know, Erewhon food, which is it's1:29:03all like seed oil free. Or or wings,1:29:07Krispy Kreme.1:29:09>> Ooh.1:29:10That was only for 3 days, Jeremy. Your1:29:12body is changing. You can't handle that.1:29:13You you can't you can't eat like a1:29:15garbage dump. You keep thinking like,1:29:16"Oh, it's only 3 days."1:29:18>> Well, it's only 3 days.1:29:20Yeah, well, what if I just1:29:21>> is biblical because in the Bible, Jesus1:29:24resurrected in 3 days. So, I had to die,1:29:26okay? And now I get to go eat whatever I1:29:29want.1:29:29>> do fentanyl once a month.1:29:31Not bad.1:29:33Yeah. Once a month? That's it?1:29:34>> [laughter]1:29:35>> He said, "Not bad."1:29:37No, not bad is crazy. No, but but yeah,1:29:40I understand. No, no, but because of1:29:42that, I've been wanting to eat so bad.1:29:45And today I popped off on Jeremy. That's1:29:46how you know I'm hangry. So, we were1:29:49supposed to go [laughter] and get1:29:51You tell me the story. So, He told me1:29:52the story. Something else happened to1:29:54it, too. Yes. Yes. So, so I I pop Okay,1:29:56so I don't pop off crazy, but I I got1:29:59not crazy with Jeremy. I got 10% there,1:30:01but my 10% is like you guys' 60%, okay?1:30:04>> I'd say like 80%.1:30:06>> [laughter]1:30:06>> You guys' is 80%. Okay, so I sit here1:30:10and1:30:11so we go he's looking up stuff after our1:30:14podcast what it's a ritual for us to go1:30:16out and eat. I like to take my team to1:30:19go eat because I appreciate them for1:30:20working hard genuinely, right?1:30:22>> pass in money only food once a week.1:30:24>> No, that's not [laughter] true. That's1:30:25not true. So we go and I'm like so we1:30:28love eating Korean barbecue anything1:30:29Asian. Now for me I was put on a low1:30:32histamine anti-inflammatory diet meaning1:30:35no soy, no gluten basically no1:30:37happiness, okay? Just no happy just1:30:40don't they should not call it the low1:30:41they should call it the low and no1:30:42happiness diet. I could not eat1:30:44anything, right? And I'm like pissed. So1:30:47I'm doing this and I'm locked in, right?1:30:48It's 7 days I'm like I'm I'm busting1:30:51this open and I'm like, all right, let's1:30:54go. So he chooses a place and it's a1:30:56Mediterranean place which is for me1:30:58which I asked for.1:30:59>> about you. Not bad he's thinking about1:31:01me and I'm like again it's halal food1:31:04and it's a great and all but I'm like1:31:06I've been eating that for days. Kebab1:31:08chicken kebab, bro, I swear I'm going to1:31:10start speaking in freaking Persian and1:31:11like change his name to kebab. Literally1:31:13Johnny kebab, right? And so1:31:15I'm like, okay and I text in the chat1:31:18because I talked to my doctor shout out1:31:19Dr. Weakley and he's like, Johnny,1:31:22you're not living in a bubble. You1:31:23shouldn't be having to do that. And I'm1:31:24like, oh, you don't say Jeremiah. Gets1:31:27an inch she takes a mile.1:31:29And he's like, all you got to do is,1:31:31Johnny, you got to eliminate it's a1:31:32process of elimination of food. You have1:31:34to sit there and you have to eliminate1:31:35certain things in your diet. I'm like,1:31:37all right, cool. So he's like, corn I1:31:39don't I don't think you should eat. It's1:31:41processed, you know, this your body1:31:42doesn't digest it. It's all GMO etc.1:31:44etc. Cool. Bro, he's like 20 By the way,1:31:46by the way, he eats 20 lbs of corn1:31:48cheese when we go to Korean barbecue.1:31:49Continue.1:31:49>> True. It's true. Okay, I never said I1:31:51didn't. But either way, right? He's1:31:53saying don't even try it yet. It's okay.1:31:56But then he goes anything that's saucy1:31:58try a little bit of sauce like just eat1:32:01rice eat the you know cheddar which is1:32:04brisket and you know galbi right which1:32:07is you know1:32:08short rib.1:32:10Yeah, I had to let the Korean He's a1:32:11Korean barbecue veteran. But anyways,1:32:13[laughter] so we got to do all of that1:32:15and I'm over here super excited. I'll1:32:18text I'll look at the text right now.1:32:19I'll I'll read it in tonality, too.1:32:21Okay? I'll read it in tonality.1:32:23>> How you read it in tonality and then1:32:25I'll read it in my tonality.1:32:25>> tonality. So, I said, "Guys with X1:32:28double exclamation." Double exclamation1:32:30means it's crazy, right? "Good news. I1:32:32spoke to Wakely, explained everything1:32:33and told me good stuff. So, let's do1:32:36this Korean barbecue spot tonight. He1:32:38wants me to experiment with something.1:32:39He said that other place is going to1:32:41have the same effect, so I might as well1:32:43do Korean barbecue. Just no kimchi, no1:32:45corn, but everything else is okay. See1:32:47what it does and then eliminate it and1:32:49get it down. I'll tell y'all more. Oh,1:32:50wait. Aaron, you're leaving. I'm sorry."1:32:52Cuz I thought Aaron was going to leave.1:32:53And then he goes, "I can't cancel This1:32:56is Jeremy. This is how I read it. "I1:32:57can't cancel1:32:59cuz you have to put your credit card1:33:01down."1:33:03Okay? "I can't." He says, right? "And1:33:05they charge a cancellation fee within a1:33:07certain time."1:33:09Aaron's like, "My flight's 8:00 a.m.1:33:10tomorrow." Right? And I was like,1:33:12"That's why he's a goated employee."1:33:13He's like, "I'm down." Basically.1:33:15Jeremy's like,1:33:16"This place is also right down the1:33:18street from your house." I put, "Okay."1:33:20It's also not right down the street1:33:22because when I Googled it it's 451:33:24minutes. It's not right down the street.1:33:26We can eat it. I'm just saying I meant1:33:28Aaron's house. Gotcha. This is so whack.1:33:31That's what I said, right? And then he1:33:32goes and then and then I call him and1:33:35then1:33:37I call you I call you and then you're1:33:38going to get your side. I call him and I1:33:40go like this, "Bro, you you want to eat1:33:42right? Just be honest with me." That's1:33:44how I said it. Now, go ahead.1:33:46First of all, let me explain [laughter]1:33:47a couple things. Aaron said before that1:33:50he said I have to leave right after the1:33:52podcast, so I can't even eat. So, he1:33:54couldn't he didn't he He go to the1:33:55dinner tonight. Yeah, but he said 8:001:33:57a.m. No, but he didn't say that until1:33:59later. He first said he didn't. So, then1:34:01when he said, "My flight is at 8:001:34:03a.m." He didn't say, "Oh, I can eat now.1:34:05My flight is at 8:00 a.m." What I1:34:06assumed was I have to pack. I have to do1:34:08a bunch of things. So, that's why I said1:34:11is near his house. Mhm. Cuz if he1:34:13doesn't want to go eat, it's1:34:14>> But explain the cancel, "I can't cancel"1:34:16part.1:34:16>> Because they charge you. So, I I got1:34:18charged. I canceled it. No, but you1:34:20could have just been like, "I That's1:34:22what I said. I said they charged. They1:34:24they they charge you.1:34:25>> No, you said, "I can't cancel."1:34:27>> cancel because they charge you.1:34:28[laughter] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay,1:34:29I get what I'm saying.1:34:30She's saying Hold on. Hold on. Hey, let1:34:32me go. It's my turn. My turn.1:34:34So, so listen.1:34:35First of all, let me give some more1:34:36backstory. We've had Korean barbecue1:34:39probably two times a week, one time a1:34:41week for the last year. So, I thought1:34:44maybe, you know, okay, it's one time we1:34:46can't cancel. It's by his house. It1:34:48might all work out. He took it as, "You1:34:51defy me.1:34:52You must pay for it." He calls me and1:34:54says, "I Hit your turn again. Hit your1:34:55turn again. Hit your turn [laughter]1:34:56again. I said, "Be honest. You want No,1:34:59no. He goes He goes He He goes1:35:01>> [laughter]1:35:02>> He picks up the phone and he goes, "Hey,1:35:03be honest. You want right?"1:35:05>> Oh my gosh. You're telling me I banged1:35:08on you. Yeah. Hey, homie. You banged on1:35:10me. This is This is Beck Chon Game. You1:35:12banged on me. No one did that.1:35:14Fake news. Fake news. [laughter]1:35:17Fake news. Jimmy Choo.1:35:19Hey. Chad.1:35:21Bro, that was1:35:22>> on me. I didn't But look, you said The1:35:25reason why I honestly you said I can't1:35:27and then when I heard I can't, I was1:35:28like1:35:29And I expressed this to [laughter]1:35:30Jeremy. I expressed this to Jeremy. He1:35:32couldn't see my heart. That's what1:35:34That's what made me sad. I was like,1:35:36"Dang. He I'm sitting here and I'm1:35:38literally struggling." But then I try to1:35:40fix Struggling? He acted like he's in1:35:42the trenches. I was struggling. He's1:35:45eating Erewhon. No, I'm not eating1:35:46Erewhon. [laughter] I'm not eating1:35:47Erewhon. Okay, kebab. I'm eating kebab,1:35:49which is good. No disrespect to all my1:35:52people, right? Wallahi. I'm just1:35:54kidding. But genuinely, right?1:35:56>> with you.1:35:56>> [laughter]1:35:57>> But I was like, dang. And then what And1:35:59I told Jeremy this and and this is also1:36:02for you guys.1:36:03I genuinely, when I feel like people1:36:05can't read a heart posture, that's the1:36:08one thing that makes me jump into like,1:36:09dang. These people like they don't read1:36:12heart posture and it's not a good thing.1:36:14It's always also for him. Like I'm like,1:36:16that's why I had to I had to talk to him1:36:18like, Jeremy, you want1:36:19And I was going to build off of that and1:36:21be like, do you And if he said, yeah, I1:36:23do, I'll be like, all right. And I was1:36:24going to have a conversation with him.1:36:26If you understand like we can eat I said1:36:28it. I just in my heart, bro, like maybe1:36:31think about my heart sometimes.1:36:33That was the lesson. That's all I1:36:35wanted. But he's so sneaky. He's so1:36:37good. No, well, here's the thing. I1:36:39wanted to cancel and it's at Aaron's and1:36:40you know, and I am thinking about other1:36:42people. It's at No, but you didn't think1:36:44about me.1:36:46Think about you all the time, man.1:36:48>> Yeah, you do. Okay. But yeah, anyways. I1:36:51thought you guys would like that.1:36:52>> I just want to say this. So he said1:36:53something very key right there. He said,1:36:55you know, makes me sad when they don't1:36:56see heart posture. I've never seen him1:36:58bang on anybody else who doesn't see1:37:00heart1:37:00>> [laughter]1:37:00>> He goes, I didn't I didn't bang1:37:02I didn't bang on you.1:37:05I didn't Hey, cuh, you want to eat1:37:08freaking You going to eat1:37:09cuh. Like you got beefs. I pulled the1:37:12Yeah, yeah, yeah.1:37:12>> [laughter]1:37:14>> It's going to happen. He said, I was1:37:16like1:37:16Aaron, this is all your fault, by the1:37:18I'm going to be like, see what happens1:37:19when you pull the1:37:20>> [laughter]1:37:20>> Yeah. The thing that's making me laugh1:37:21the most is look at where Aaron's mic1:37:23landed up. He's holding [laughter]1:37:25>> to see how far I can get deep in causing1:37:27the whole thing.1:37:28>> He's literally has the mic in three1:37:30>> to see how much I can destroy before you1:37:32notice. He literally has the mic in1:37:34three parts while HE'S HOLDING IT.1:37:37>> [laughter]1:37:38>> I DROPPED the piece that connected it1:37:40all and Johnny saw it and I'm like, I'm1:37:42cooked from here.1:37:43>> [laughter]1:37:43>> We are done We are done with the show.1:37:45Dude, hey, no lie though, Jeremy was1:37:47right. He was literally like, "Bro, look1:37:49at the what's going to happen." And it1:37:50freaking happened.1:37:51>> I know. This guy makes me so angry.1:37:53This is why Hey, this is why you1:37:55shouldn't hit your children.1:37:57>> [laughter]1:37:59>> Yeah, hey, see, me and Johnny never1:38:01would take this apart. We'd get a1:38:03whooping. True. Parent is like, "Oh,1:38:05what what what's the worst that could1:38:06happen? My mom browses me?1:38:08>> [laughter]1:38:09>> I'll just leave the house. You have no1:38:11control over me anymore, mom."1:38:13>> [laughter]1:38:14>> Oh my god.1:38:15That's hella funny.1:38:17>> Yeah, did you learn anything this1:38:17episode? You've been pretty silent.1:38:19>> I did learn that I'm really glad we're1:38:20not going to I thought we were still1:38:22going. I didn't see those No, I'm1:38:23kidding.1:38:25You my aha. I'm kidding. I'm kidding.1:38:26Hey, no, but no lie, this is fire,1:38:29right? But when you're eating the same1:38:30food, like if I'm eating if I ate Korean1:38:32barbecue 7 days, I'll be like, "Oh my1:38:34All right, guys, can we not?"1:38:36>> That's not true.1:38:37>> No, that's not1:38:38Jeremy, that is true. That is true. I1:38:40would eat I would switch to a different1:38:42type of barbecue. If they cut you open,1:38:44you would literally be they would find1:38:46the charred of the meat, like [laughter]1:38:48the kimchi, corn cheese. That's just1:38:49your insides right now. It's just like1:38:51four stomachs of1:38:53>> [laughter]1:38:54>> They would just be like, "What the This1:38:56guy's literally a walking Korean1:38:57barbecue right here."1:38:59>> [laughter]1:39:00>> Bro is like 20% human, 80% Korean1:39:02barbecue. 80% corn cheese.1:39:05>> [laughter]1:39:06>> That's why you're inflamed.1:39:08You stab him and no blood comes out.1:39:10It's just cheese and corn. It's just the1:39:12[laughter] It's just the soy the What is1:39:14it? The the brisket sauce?1:39:16You can stab Johnny and you just just1:39:18realize you were hungry later cuz you1:39:20[laughter] lost the stomach contents.1:39:22Like, "Wait, now I'm hungry." Yo, I'm so1:39:25hungry, though. But anyway,1:39:26>> you learn? What did I learn? I learned1:39:28that Johnny1:39:30I learned that you take I learned1:39:32something about you today a little bit.1:39:34Um and then it was just pretty1:39:35interesting seeing you get kind of1:39:36choked up talking about that stuff. And1:39:38you can kind of tell when someone is1:39:40just like very passionate about their1:39:42what they're talking about or kind of1:39:43like uh Yeah. holding back in a way.1:39:46But um yeah, that gave me some insight1:39:48into kind of1:39:51not your background necessarily, but the1:39:52things that you go through, I guess.1:39:54>> Mhm. And um1:39:56that was interesting. Yeah.1:39:59What did you learn, Jeremy? For me, the1:40:01the the one part was like uh1:40:05that's why I think you're kind of built1:40:06for this, right? Like, you're right, it1:40:09could have been um1:40:11you could probably continue this1:40:13congregation and1:40:15with that heart of1:40:17"Look at me, I'm good." And it could1:40:19probably go very far. And you probably1:40:20wouldn't treat us any differently that1:40:22we would notice that it's happening.1:40:24Yeah. Um1:40:26and it Yeah, it could, but like, I don't1:40:28know. I just think that it kind of like1:40:30affirmed why I wanted to help you in the1:40:32first place and why I believe in this so1:40:34much and why I believe in God. Mhm.1:40:37Because of the people you're around, who1:40:39you listen to, and how I see you1:40:40breaking your own heart. Mhm. Even1:40:42though you go through what 99% of people1:40:45would crumble1:40:47if they had to experience 5% of it. Mhm.1:40:50Your friends turning on you.1:40:52Uh what you have to deal with with the1:40:55outside world, what you have to deal1:40:56with within the congregation, what you1:40:58have to deal with, you know, it it's1:41:00diff- Dude, good news is kind of1:41:02militant. Like1:41:03>> It's a nervous It is a lot.1:41:05>> a very difficult church and I every day1:41:07I'm like I [clears throat] couldn't Like1:41:08I couldn't do it. I could I would have I1:41:10would have left the church and like left1:41:11the church, you know? I'm that stubborn,1:41:13you know? Yeah. So, just with all that,1:41:15I'm just like I'm very grateful that you1:41:18go through what you have to go to teach1:41:21to be an example of the lessons that1:41:24that1:41:25we should all learn, you know? Yeah. And1:41:27yeah, I'm I'm I'm grateful and honored1:41:30that I get to work for you.1:41:32And I I know that this is going to work.1:41:34Dang, if Jeremy is saying that, God is1:41:36real, guys.1:41:37Type in the chat, God is real.1:41:39>> Yeah.1:41:39>> Yeah, yeah, God is real.1:41:41>> this far, God is real. No, that's1:41:42beautiful.1:41:43>> I'm I'm grateful for you. Thank you,1:41:44bro. Yeah, you shared that with me on1:41:47the in a text and it touched me a lot,1:41:49you know? But, I'm thankful that God1:41:51also gives me the heart to go through1:41:53these things and teach you guys. That's1:41:55the first thing I always think is like,1:41:57dang, I got to tell1:41:59some reason he's giving me the heart to1:42:00just tell everyone like, hey, cuz cuz I1:42:03would want if you went through it or if1:42:05you went through it, I would want you1:42:06guys to tell me cuz then it would help1:42:07me like process the things in my life.1:42:09So, I always think about that, too, like1:42:11I'm always thinking about you guys in1:42:13one way, shape, or form. Yes, I'm1:42:14selfish, I'm stubborn, and I obviously1:42:16have my blemishes, but genuinely, I do1:42:19want people to be happy cuz I think I1:42:21understand how it feels to be so1:42:24miserable that you don't have any like1:42:27hope inside of your life.1:42:28>> Want to kill yourself.1:42:29>> Again, always just want to share, you1:42:31know, my experiences with you guys cuz1:42:33who knows? Like1:42:34I think the the reason why I'm the way I1:42:37am is because of Pastor Kim and how he1:42:38shared all of his like struggles with1:42:41me, too. Pastor John, for sure, shared1:42:44all I was in the struggles with him like1:42:46many times. And so, it just made me have1:42:49this heart of like, dang, we all really1:42:51are interconnected through the struggle.1:42:53Like when I say that, I don't just say1:42:54like, oh yeah, we're interconnected to1:42:56the struggle and get a clip. Like we all1:42:58every single person, from the person1:43:00who's hating on us1:43:02to the person who loves us, to the1:43:03people who don't know about us, there's1:43:05struggle everywhere. It's a universal1:43:06language. And so, I don't know, I just1:43:08have the heart to be like, I look at1:43:10certain people and I feel like, dang, it1:43:12sucks that they have to struggle solely1:43:15because they don't know like the things1:43:17that I've learned. And so, I want to1:43:19like almost feel like a1:43:22I guess a duty or like a responsibility1:43:24or obligation to like pass that on to1:43:26people. Otherwise, it would not like God1:43:29wouldn't be happy, but it would just be1:43:30really sad for me, you know? So, I1:43:33appreciate you guys too that I can be1:43:35vulnerable and you guys see certain1:43:36blemishes in me1:43:37>> [clears throat and cough]1:43:38>> and still be like1:43:40it's okay. Like, we respect him, we1:43:42trust him, you know? You guys have to1:43:43also trust my leadership at the end of1:43:45the day. And so, that right there gives1:43:48me a lot of hope. When I want to quit, I1:43:50always think about you guys too. I'm1:43:51like, "Dang, like" And it's not in a way1:43:53where like I have to do this for Jeremy,1:43:54I have to do this for Aaron, I have to1:43:55do this for you guys. But it's more of1:43:58like how can I say that I care about1:44:00people who've supported me from the mud,1:44:02from the bottom, right? And um1:44:05and I just can just throw them away at1:44:07the end of the day. Like, that's not1:44:08cool either. And so, it makes me really1:44:11um I feel like God gave me you guys in a1:44:13way to also keep me in in check. Cuz if1:44:16I run away, I know Pastor Kim would1:44:17still accept me. And I know that you1:44:19guys would too, but it just makes it1:44:21that much dif- difficult to be like,1:44:23"Bro, you're not living for yourself1:44:24anymore, you Every time I see you be1:44:26like, "Hey, remember when we were had a1:44:28big like we were growing a big old1:44:29audience?"1:44:31You better remember that. Anyway,1:44:33>> say that. You're so funny. You're like,1:44:34"Okay, Johnny, well, you'll be one of1:44:36those guys who's like, 'You know, I used1:44:37to have a million followers or1:44:39something.'"1:44:40>> [laughter]1:44:41>> I was like, "Dang, like" Johnny's like,1:44:43"Yeah, I used to be the high school1:44:44quarterback. We went to the state1:44:46championships."1:44:47>> [laughter]1:44:48>> Peaked. Peaked is crazy. But yeah, I1:44:51know. With that being said, this wraps1:44:53up1:44:53the just the whole podcast, right?1:44:55>> Yeah. Yeah, yeah, the whole podcast.1:44:57>> wraps up the whole episode. Um and I1:44:59really hope that you guys can learn not1:45:02to just wait on God um and you know,1:45:05God's delays are not1:45:07you know, rejection. It's usually1:45:08protection and it's usually1:45:11you know, just nurturing. And so, I hope1:45:13you guys can learn that. And also just1:45:15being vulnerable, right? If any of this1:45:17stuff hits you guys to the core, please1:45:20also share that. Not just with, you1:45:22know, other people, but also share it in1:45:24the comments. Let us know like what you1:45:26loved about this part or or loved about1:45:28this episode. And yeah, also we have an1:45:31app coming. Do we have to say1:45:33We have an app coming out, guys. So, let us bow our heads1:46:24and let us pray.1:46:26Father God, thank you so much for giving1:46:27us this wisdom.1:46:29You've led many souls to the kingdom,1:46:31Lord, just through vulnerability and1:46:35waiting for your delays and waiting for1:46:37your timing, God.1:46:38If there's any brothers and sisters who1:46:40are listening and they're struggling1:46:41with your timing, they're struggling1:46:43with this expectation that you have to1:46:44meet their timeline and you have to meet1:46:47their goals. God, please put them at1:46:49ease and show them that your time is the1:46:52best time, Lord. It's not called our1:46:54timing, but God's timing for a reason1:46:56and that's because you know what's best1:46:58for us.1:46:59God, please help our hearts when it gets1:47:02anxious. Help us when we feel very1:47:05dependent on self and we rely on1:47:07situations and circumstances rather than1:47:09relying on you. Lord, we do this many1:47:11times because we want control, but God,1:47:15please show them that you've always been1:47:16in control.1:47:18And for those people who are struggling1:47:19also with vulnerability and opening1:47:21their hearts because they're afraid to1:47:23be vulnerable and they're afraid to show1:47:27all of their blemishes and weaknesses.1:47:29Please remind them of 2 Corinthians1:47:3112:9-101:47:32in that1:47:33>> [clears throat and cough]1:47:34>> when they are weak they are strong and1:47:36that they can glorify in those things1:47:38because it takes a spotlight off of them1:47:41and puts it 100% onto you, God.1:47:43Thank you so much, Lord, for allowing us1:47:45to be vulnerable, to have a space like1:47:47this where we can all kind of share our1:47:49hearts and be in the comments and follow1:47:52and just have people know our heart1:47:53posture. And please also teach people,1:47:56Father God, that you see their heart1:47:57posture and that you already made a1:48:01clear clear justification of their souls1:48:03through Romans 8:31-34.1:48:06That you love them regardless of who1:48:08they are and that there's no1:48:10condemnation for them, Father God, and1:48:12that condemnation is in fact from the1:48:14enemy. You convict us towards you, you1:48:17never condemn us away from you. For1:48:19that, God, we're forever thankful. And1:48:21with that being said, we leave1:48:22everything in your hands, God, and in1:48:24Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Amen. Like,1:48:28comment, and subscribe.
