Transcript of Stocks Surge $1 Trillion, Oil Drops Below $100
StockedUp
0:00Over $1 trillion in market cap was added0:02to US stocks today after some new AI0:05news and falling oil prices. Trump is0:08about to meet with Chinese President Xi.0:10The Houthis keep expanding and a big0:12weeks ahead. We're also only 9 days away0:15from the best buying point during a0:17midterm election year as we're seeing0:20something that hasn't happened in almost0:22100 years. Today we cover why stocks are0:25rising, what to know, and where the0:27action is right now.0:32Over $1 trillion was added to US stocks0:35today as the NASDAQ jumped over 3%. And0:38there were a few things that caused0:40this. Trump posted twice today0:42positively speaking about AI and said0:44that he's not going to stifle growth of0:46something that will be bigger than the0:48industrial revolution or the internet0:50itself and that the risks will be0:53reigned in if they have to be. Scott0:55Besson backed Trump's comments, saying0:57AI companies need to take responsibility1:00for their technology and not rely on the1:02government as a liability shield. And1:05guess what? This sent AI stocks ripping.1:08AMD crossed over $1 trillion in market1:11value for the first time ever, rising by1:1310% as it posted new all-time highs1:16today. And many other tech stocks like1:19Meta also ripped who is also on track to1:21have its best monthly run in over 131:24years after they unveiled an advanced1:26undersea cable system and Muse Meta's1:29new AI agent tool which surpassed Chat1:32GPT and Claude in post-launch downloads.1:35Oil also fell sharply which fueled the1:38rally in stocks. There are now1:40expectations for more supply after last1:42night it was unveiled that Saudi Aramco1:45loaded roughly 14 million barrels of1:47crude oil onto seven tankers on Sunday,1:50officially restarting their exports from1:53their Gulf terminals to the Red Sea1:55after attacks shut down its key east1:58west pipeline exports on September 13th.2:01The Houthis in Yemen though are still2:03continuing to expand. Today they pushed2:06to seize strategic heights in Yemen to2:08fully control the Red Sea coast. Donald2:11Trump and Yemen's president spoke by2:14phone on Sunday with Yemen requesting2:16direct US military intervention in the2:19ongoing Houthi conflict. According to2:21the the New York Times, Trump was ready2:24to launch strikes on the Houthis Sunday2:26night, but called them off at the last2:28minute for unknown reasons. And while2:31the US appears to be holding back from2:33striking the Houthis at the last moment,2:35it is increasing economic pressure on2:37Iran. Treasury Secretary Scott Besson2:40said Iranian airlines will face a global2:42shutdown effort starting September 23rd2:45with airports and companies that2:46continue providing services to2:48sanctioned Iranian carriers possibly2:51losing access to the US dollar system,2:53which is a pretty important system. But2:56guys, before we move forward, make sure2:58that you destroy that subscribe button3:00as every single day we take a ton of3:02time to make these videos and give you3:04guys the best information all packaged3:07into a nice short video that you guys3:09can watch, get plays, and be more3:11informed for the next trading day. So,3:13hit that like button and subscribe if3:16you enjoy the content. But something3:18happened that we haven't seen in nearly3:20100 years, and that is that market3:22breath has been falling to extreme lows.3:25The S&P 500 is approaching new highs,3:27but there are now far more stocks3:29hitting new lows than new highs, while3:32the percentage of stocks in long-term3:33uptrends continues to fall. The same3:36analyst claims there have only been two3:38other days in history when the S&P 5003:41rallied at least 1% to within 1% of a3:44record high while more stocks hit new3:47lows than new highs with those being3:49July 23rd of 1929 and December 21st of3:531999 which preceded the Great Depression3:56and do bubble. Two of the worst times in3:59stock market history.4:01>> Very interesting. And it's also worth4:03noting that Trump and Xi Jinping are4:05still set to meet this Thursday on4:07September 24th, while they'll discuss AI4:10development joined by multiple4:12high-profile tax CEOs. The US and China4:15are preparing to extend the trade truce4:17that they reached last year with Xi4:20Jinping traveling to Washington to meet4:22Trump. The original agreement lowered US4:25tariffs on Chinese goods while China4:28agreed to maintain exports of critical4:30materials. So, look out for news here.4:32It can be market moving. Looking at the4:34S&P 500 now. It is less than 1% away4:38from all-time highs. Technically, it is4:400.75%4:42off of its all-time high. Yeah, the S&P4:45500 and SPY had a fantastic recovery day4:48today. SPY closed up by 1.55% on the4:52trading day. And we can actually see4:53that on the daily chart, the SPY had4:56been downtrending over the past few4:58weeks, ever since it hit the all-time4:59high of 779375:02back on August 13th. And that all-time5:04high at 779375:07is just under 780, a critical5:09psychological level for SPY. So, I'm5:12going to be watching that $1 range there5:15uh right before 780 as the main5:18resistance going into the next few days.5:21But as of tomorrow, there is a huge5:23level in play where the spy peaked out5:25back on August 28th, which actually5:27lines up with the downtrend as well. And5:29this will be the first big resistance5:31right around 775 to 776. That will be a5:35critical first zone to break above5:37before that all-time high comes into5:39play. With the overall momentum that the5:41market has right now, I would not be5:43surprised if it continued ripping in the5:45short term. But in the event of a5:47pullback, it was pretty huge to see the5:49SPY break out past 77250 today and also5:53past 770. SPY was ripping off uh5:56initially this morning and had a little5:58bit of trouble breaking above 770. So I6:01think that'll be a good area of support6:03for tomorrow with 764 to 765 as critical6:07support just under there. But right now6:09the spy is in bullish mode and we can6:11see that on the daily chart the spy is6:14very close to all-time highs. And the6:16last time that we saw SPY move with this6:18type of velocity, it ended up breaking6:20out to new highs for a couple days6:22there.6:23>> Yeah, SPY has been pretty choppy and all6:27over the place over these past few6:28months. So, it's nice to see this surge6:31in momentum. And history also points to6:35more positivity in situations like this6:38one. Historically speaking, in midterm6:41years, October and November have the6:44highest average returns of any other6:47months. Of course, September is6:49historically a pretty red and weak6:52month, but it looks like investors also6:54might be front running this positive6:55seasonality. Yeah, we are heading into6:58kind of a positive time of the year. And7:00I know September is known to be7:02historically one of the worst times of7:03the year, but right now we are seeing7:05the market rise. And at the same time,7:08we're only nine days from the best7:10buying point during a midterm year.7:12September 30th has consistently had the7:15lowest S&P performance since 1928, when7:18it's a midterm year specifically, making7:20it a great buying point. But shifting7:22over into the economic schedule for this7:24week, there are multiple Fed speaker7:26events lined up. But we don't really7:28have any economic data until Friday, one7:31hour before open at 8:30 a.m. Eastern7:33whenever durable goods orders will7:36release. But something else that's7:37happening is whenever we look at the7:39earnings lineup, there's pretty much no7:41earnings this week. But on Thursday,7:43Costco is reporting and their report can7:45be highly influential, especially right7:48now as their report can give us an7:50update on the state of the consumer and7:52consumer spending.7:54>> Let's keep it close on the radar. And7:56besides that, Tom, let's jump right into7:57today's setups and predictions. A stock8:01close on the radar is LY. This is8:04Firefly Aerospace and it had a pretty8:06good day as it popped up by almost 9%.8:10As we know, today was a pretty strong8:12risk on day and other space stocks also8:16had strong moves higher like LUNR, RKLB,8:20ASTS and other stocks out there. FL is8:23on the radar as it has potential to do8:27well if we continue to see a bid in you8:30know more of these growth orientated uh8:33companies but this stock is also pretty8:37far off of its recent highs. It's8:39roughly 63% off that high that it made8:42back in May. I like to see this positive8:46momentum and I think it can offer a good8:48riskreward if we do continue to see8:52number one more risk on sentiment but I8:55think this can also be boosted a lot by8:58any upcoming space news as well. Of9:01course, the SpaceX IPO was uh somewhat9:05recent, but there has been a lot of9:07space news just continuously releasing9:10and it is an industry that has like a9:13lot of forwardlooking, you know, growth9:16orientated news which can potentially9:18boost Firefly, you know, depending if9:20there are some catalysts. That is more9:22speculative though. Either way, Firefly9:24is on the radar for a potential9:26continuation over the coming weeks and9:29months, especially as it is holding the9:31support around $20 to $18 per share9:34pretty well. Yeah, that support range is9:37huge on Firefly. I will definitely be9:39watching it as I'm a big fan of space9:41stocks right now as well. And with my9:43first play, I'm going to be looking at9:45Intel to the upside yet again. I know9:47I've been calling this one out over the9:49past few trading days and we called it9:51out at the end of last week. And you9:53know, on Friday, it performed very9:55poorly, but that didn't mean that the9:56uptrend was over. As you can tell by the9:59movement today, Intel ended up popping10:01up by over 14.8% today alone, and is up10:05nearly 32% from last Monday's low10:08following negative AI comments from Elon10:11Musk, Sam Alman, and other AI leaders.10:14That negativity did not last long, did10:16it? uh AI stocks are obviously10:18rebounding from that in an extremely10:21strong way here in the short term and I10:23will continue watching Intel to the10:24upside with today's move. It actually10:26broke above its gap fill range around10:29120 to 121 and close just around that10:3212150 area. So if it can open up10:35tomorrow and continue to have good10:37momentum like it had today, why not10:40continue to ride this wave higher? I10:42love to see the way that chip stocks are10:44recovering and it seems like AI is just10:46having a great bounceback. I really10:48thought and I was pretty worried10:49whenever I saw those negative comments10:51last week.10:52>> Yeah, I mean great call with Intel. It10:55really did have a great move and it10:57seems like the AI trade is still the10:59dominant trade of the market and there11:02were certainly a lot of stocks in the AI11:05uh industry you can say that really11:07crush it today. There's still a lot of11:09momentum. Energy stocks are also still11:11on the radar, but these did have a11:13pretty big drop today. Of course, the11:15Saudi export news is bearish for oil,11:18but there were also a lot of other11:19things that happened over the weekend11:20and even today with the Houthis that are11:22bullish for oil. I don't think the root11:25problem that's causing the oil and gas11:27supply disruption has ended. Until it11:29does, it appears that the US energy11:32companies will continue to benefit, but11:34there's going to be a lot of short-term11:35volatility that comes along with that. I11:38wouldn't be surprised if some of these11:39energy plays even retreated a little bit11:42more considering how much they are up11:44and just given the recent uh shift in11:47momentum, but they're still on a broader11:50bullish watch, especially for as long as11:53this US Iran war continues. And that's11:56the big thing that's pending right now.11:57It seems like whenever we hear about11:59Trump talking about Iran or of course12:01doing things with Iran, it's been mostly12:03negative in the short term. So, I will12:05keep my eyes on this overall situation12:07and see if that continues to worsen,12:10Mike. But with my second play, I'm12:12looking at RDW, which is also in the12:14space sector. Now, RDW is a space12:17infrastructure and defense technology12:19company, and they manufacture flight12:21hardware, roll out solar arrays,12:23satellite avionics, microgravity12:26research systems, and more. but they12:28also do orbital platforms and they build12:31tactical surveillance drones and sensors12:33for the US military and NATO allies,12:36positioning itself as a core hardware12:39supplier across both space and national12:41defense. So, I really like RDW in the12:44short term with the way in which we're12:46starting to see these space and kind of12:48like uh I would say space defense12:50companies move higher again. Um, RDW is12:53holding key double bottom in the short12:55term around $10.2512:58to $10, which is a huge psychological13:00range. And also, RDW has been known to13:03move quite a bit. Whenever this stock13:05does uptrend, it can have some insane13:07runs. In the middle of 2025, ended up13:10popping off around 232%.13:13And then in May of 2026, it ended up13:15running up around 200%. And again, that13:18was in just about like one or two months13:20worth of time. So, uh, RDW is an insane13:23stock and if we do see more, uh, buying13:26pressure come into the space sector, I13:28think RDW can perform very well in the13:30short term and I think a good target for13:33this week and the next few days is this13:35peak around $14 that it posted back in13:38the middle of August. Yeah, 14 would be13:40great. Like you pointed out, there have13:42been multiple times where this stock has13:44had some explosive moves, but it, you13:46know, the volatility also works to the13:48downside as well. But yeah, the recent13:50momentum, not only with this stock, but13:52just with the market in general, uh,13:54certainly does help. So, I'll I'll also13:56keep it close on the radar. But let's13:59also jump right into today's momentum14:01plays. With the first one, we have MOA,14:03ticker symbol MRNA, to the upside. We14:06can see that MOA is testing a critical14:09resistance on the daily chart where it14:11peaked after releasing a cancer vaccine14:13or at least positive trials for their14:15cancer vaccine. If we see MOA rip past14:1817650, continue watching it to the14:21upside.14:22>> With the next one, we have Oakllo,14:23ticker symbol OKLO, to the upside.14:26>> If Oaklow breaks out above $41, look for14:29an upside continuation play. This stock14:31closed up nearly 6%.14:33>> And then with the last one, we have Exon14:35Mobile XOM to the downside.14:38>> Yeah, if Exxon continues pulling back in14:40the short term, don't be afraid to look14:42at it to the downside. If it breaks down14:44under 158, go ahead and look at Exxon14:46down for a trade tomorrow specifically.14:49These three stocks are on the radar for14:51potential continuations tomorrow if and14:53only if they break through the levels14:55listed. These stocks are volatile, so14:57always protect yourself. Have stop14:59losses for any trade you ever place and15:01focus on what matters, which is making15:03smart, disciplined trading decisions.15:06And besides that, let's jump right into15:08today's $1.29 million big money trade.15:12Today we are looking at ticker symbol15:14LOW.15:16The trader here traded the 240 strike15:19call options that expire on January 21st15:22of 2028. Lowe's is one of the largest15:25home improvement retail chains in the15:27world. Um it has had a pretty rough year15:31so far as the interest rate environment15:35is putting pressure not only just on15:37real estate but uh many other areas of15:39the economy. Looking at this trade here15:42more specifically, these call options15:45are pretty far out of the money, I would15:46say, but they also have a lot of time to15:49them. So, assuming the trader is buying15:51these call options, this is a long-term15:54bullish bet that Lowe's stock will15:56reverse and quite meaningfully over the16:00next year or so. Um, I don't love how16:03far out of the money these options are16:05because the stock has to make a16:06fairsized move uh for these options to16:09be profitable. At the same time though,16:12if the stock does reverse, these options16:14can do extremely well and they do have a16:16lot of time to them. Yeah. And looking16:19at the weekly chart right now, there has16:20been some points in the past where16:22Lowe's has had some insane recoveries16:24where it had been even lower than where16:26it is now, bouncing around $180 and16:30ripping all the way up to $26016:32within just a few months. Um, well,16:35obviously a little bit more than a few16:36months, like six months. You know, we16:37are zoomed out on a weekly chart after16:40all. But whenever we look at lows, you16:42know, it is approaching a very critical16:44zone of support on the daily chart too.16:46It's bounced around this $180 to $17016:49range multiple times. And if we start to16:52see it bounce around this range again, I16:55think this could be a very good play to16:56position yourself over the next year16:58with lows. And of course, right now, the17:00Federal Reserve is raising interest17:02rates. And we're seeing a lot of17:04pressure, you know, on the housing17:06market. But as some people, let's say,17:08get stuck in loans at high interest17:10rates, they might start, let's say,17:12pivoting to updating their own house or17:14remodeling rather than, let's say,17:17selling and purchasing new homes. And17:19that could end up helping Lowe's as well17:21in the broader term. But of course,17:23right now, they have been getting17:25smacked by this uh I would say shorter17:27term shock of this overall environment.17:30Uh, very interesting trade. Like Mike17:32said, very far out of the money, but you17:33have to be very patient as this trade17:35has all the way out till January 21st of17:382028. Let's keep it close on the radar.17:41And let's also give a giant shout out to17:43today's member of the day, Chef God7 in17:47the Stocked Up Discord, who had some17:49great gains with some meta call options17:51today and had over $1,400 in profits.17:55Huge shout out to you.
