Unlearned Wisdom by Johnny Chang
0:00In today's episode, we'll be talking0:01about does God love everybody the same?0:03And does God love you less when you sin?0:06And towards the end, we're going to talk0:08about what do you do when you feel like0:10God loves everybody else but you.0:12Welcome to another episode on the0:14Unlearned Wisdom podcast with yours0:16truly, Pastor Johnny Chang, where each0:18episode is a gospel centered lesson that0:20you could apply to your life today.0:24>> Aaron, you're lined today. [laughter] Oh0:27my god, you never remember your line.0:30Like, comment, and subscribe, and listen0:32on audio platforms after you watch the0:34video.0:34>> So, go to Spotify, go to Apple Music0:36after you watch the video. But you guys0:38notice anything different?0:40>> No.0:40>> The stos.0:42>> What the? No, that's not it. No, I'm0:44just kidding. [laughter]0:47>> Do you guys notice anything different?0:49Yeah,0:50>> we don't have a wide shot yet, but0:52>> we're in a brand new set0:55>> and um we still got to work on the0:57lighting, but it's gonna get better over0:58[laughter] time. We're, you know, we're1:00rolling out an MVP.1:02>> Yes. MVP stands for minimum viable1:04product,1:06not most valuable player.1:08>> And um do we want to talk about Arizona?1:11It's a big trip.1:12>> Oh yeah.1:14>> Heck yeah. He's looking at us like, "You1:16really want me to talk?"1:18>> When we're speaking about God's love,1:20you could feel God's love at Arizona.1:23Dude, there was so many people, 1,2001:25people. Even now, it's starting to1:26chart. If you guys Google, what is the1:28biggest baptized event in Arizona, it'll1:32show up as baptize a shout out Victory1:35Outreach Phoenix. Uh, shout out George1:37Jenko. Shout out Pastor Israel and all1:39the other pastor, Pastor Tony, everybody1:41for Victory Outreach that helped us,1:42too. Amazing.1:45>> I'm just laughing because that's such1:47like a specific search term like1:49>> Yeah.1:49>> would be like like for us to show up.1:51>> Oh, well, Pastor is did it.1:54>> He screenshot and sent it to the group1:55chat.1:56>> But basically, yeah, man, it was crazy.1:58A bunch of people came. They got saved.2:02They gave up their lives to God that2:03day. Um, I think we had over like 25002:07or like 2,300 people show up and uh2:101,300 of those people got baptized.2:12>> Wow.2:13>> The craziest thing was there was a guy2:14that flew in from Pakistan.2:17>> That was nuts.2:18>> The country is literally 3% has a 3% uh2:21uh Christian population and they're get2:24they get super persecuted and he came2:27pastor is allowed him to um give his2:29testimony and he was like bro like you2:32impacted us. you impact a lot of people2:34out there for prison ministry and man2:37it's just the trenches out there. So,2:39>> and what happened like his visa got2:41rejected a bunch.2:42>> Yeah. So, his visa got rejected like2:44four times I think and then on the fifth2:46time was Baptized Arizona and he was2:48like dude it was all God. It was all2:51worth it. So sometimes when you guys go2:52through these trials and tribulations2:54it's like proof that it's just like so2:57much sweeter. He was so happy. He was2:59kind of like paraded around. He was3:01crying. He was able to get baptized by3:03me. Um, he just it was it was the best.3:06It was the best for him. He had a great3:08day that day. So, yeah, it was hard.3:11>> I guess it's also crazy because we take3:12for granted the ability to come to an3:15event like that and even get baptized by3:17you and here's a guy that's coming from3:19another country that's persecuted, had3:21to3:22>> battle for a visa, and people are like,3:25>> I'm not downloading the app. And it's3:27like, yo, you're coming to a free event.3:28And it's like we use that so we could3:30track how many people could come into3:31the building3:32>> legit.3:32>> Why should I now? Okay. Yeah. Well,3:34there's a guy from Pakistan standing in3:36line for3:37>> He was the first in line too.3:39>> First in line. Came at 6 I think 6:303:416:40 in the morning and from a country3:44that literally is dangerous to even3:46express your faith openly. Man, we3:49really got to take from this guy, bro.3:50Legit, I was thinking about him and I3:52was like, man, I'm so thankful that he3:55he was able to really appreciate the3:58gospel and he just was very emotional4:00the whole day, which I loved. So,4:03>> yeah. You know what? That's a lesson in4:05heart posture. All right. Anyways,4:07welcome back to my episode. [laughter]4:10>> You know what else is crazy? By the time4:12this episode comes out, I think the app4:14will be out4:14>> and the streamathon.4:16>> Wow.4:16>> Hey, should we just te We'll tell4:19everyone about the streamathon.4:20>> Yeah. So guys, we're going to do uh a4:22streamathon for 30 days. And each day4:25I'm going to basically show you guys and4:27walk you through the app and walk you4:28through my routine from the daily4:30devotionals that we'll read together.4:32We'll read Bible chapters together.4:33We'll take notes together. Um4:36essentially everything that is part of4:38my routine when it comes to my spiritual4:40walk every single morning. And it takes4:42like 10, 15, 20 minutes a day. But our4:45whole point is to make God a habit,4:47right? And so, yeah, I I'm going to4:49basically walk you guys through4:50everything and I invite everybody to4:52come do it. It's a free thing every4:55single day for 30 days guaranteed and4:57it'll just be sick. By the end of the 304:59days, I believe that people will will5:02get closer to God 100% or at least will5:04know how to have a routine to get closer5:06to God.5:07>> 9:00 a.m. every single morning.5:08>> Where where like we show up at your5:10house? Should I drop the address?5:11>> No, no, it's going to be online. I'm5:13going to I'm going to be streaming5:14through all platforms. So, Tik Tok,5:16Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, find me5:19there. Twitch, all that.5:21>> 9:00 a.m. every morning for the month of5:23May. All of May. 9:00 a.m. every single5:26morning. Make God a habit in your life.5:28>> Yeah.5:28>> Join the email list. The link is in the5:30description. And and or just simply5:32download the app core of the heart daily5:34on the App Store. It's a black It's the5:36Cth logo with a black background.5:37>> Yeah. Or the Play Store as well. It's on5:39both Android and Apple. So,5:42>> whatever app store you use, it's5:43available and it's cooking cooking.5:46>> Get it on your Samsung fridge.5:48[laughter]5:49>> Anywhere that has apps.5:51>> Yeah.5:51>> Yeah, for sure. But no, um, speaking5:54about, you know, God's love. Um, I5:56remember I used to really question a lot5:59whether or not God loves me.6:03>> Oh, you got a giant hole in the bottom6:05of your sock and it's disgusting the6:06viewers.6:07>> Oh my.6:08>> Oh, yeah. Everybody walking around here.6:11Show them. Show it to the camera.6:12>> Oh my gosh.6:13>> Show it to the camera. Never mind. Is it6:14that embarrassing?6:15>> Editors, cut that out.6:16>> No, don't cut it out.6:17>> Jeremy used to just be dogs out on the6:19podcast.6:20>> Weird. Sockless.6:21>> Barefoot. That's what God6:23>> He would be.6:23>> So, is it weird that God gave me these?6:25God created these feet and I'm supposed6:27to cover them.6:28>> Yes.6:28>> With mixed linens, which is against the6:30the mitzvah.6:31>> That's That's actually really good.6:34Yeah. Those6:34>> Yeah. The 600 laws. If you guys see my I6:37was like who [laughter] taught him that6:38and I realized6:39>> me I taught you that.6:40>> You taught me that?6:41>> Yeah.6:42>> Remember everything you know was taught6:43from me.6:44>> Is uh is lying in the mitzvah too?6:48[laughter]6:48Just6:48>> kidding.6:49>> Maybe just kidding.6:50>> Yo, these chairs are humongous.6:52>> I know.6:53>> Okay, that's what I need you guys to6:55understand. Okay, talk about love, bro.6:57Like this these chairs are as big as6:58God's love. Oh my goodness.6:59>> Nah, don't be lying. You're just 5'3.7:01No, it's huge. Look, how can a dude like7:04this ever sit like this? I have7:07crisscross applesauce.7:08>> It's crazy, bro. I'm actually This is7:10actually very comfortable.7:11>> It is comfortable.7:12>> It's so comfortable.7:12>> It's so comfy. Here, Aaron, get up real7:14quick.7:14>> It's really not bad.7:15>> Show them.7:16>> Look. Look.7:17>> We'll show you how big the scale is.7:19[laughter]7:20>> It's so big. It's so big that I'm7:22comfortably sit sharing this.7:23>> We were considering just doing7:25[laughter] one in one chair for the7:27whole episode.7:28>> That's how we used to sit on the old7:29podcast. Oh.7:30>> Hello. Oh, hello. Close to share the7:34mic.7:34>> You actually sit like we're not like7:36you're not on it like Yeah.7:38>> Yeah. No, this is nearly half a couch.7:41>> Yeah. Mini couch.7:42>> This is hilarious to Hey, pass me the7:44mic. This is hilarious. If we casually7:46started the episode like this,7:48>> welcome to You guys like the new set?7:50>> Did that you guys like this setup?7:53Should me and Aaron share a seat or7:56>> maybe the best the best co-host gets to7:58share Johnny's seat the following week?8:00[laughter]8:01>> Yeah, we were saying all three of us8:02should share one seat8:04>> stacked like a totem pole,8:06>> bro. That's crazy.8:07>> I call middle.8:08>> Fix your I got to fix them.8:10>> Yeah, dude. Easy. [laughter]8:11>> It's so comfortable.8:13>> Get off of me. Look at this. Go over8:15there.8:16>> Get off of me.8:17>> But be honest. It's spacious.8:19>> It's spacious.8:20>> You have to put your hand on his neck.8:22Are [laughter] you on me though,8:24>> dude? You child, man. Anyway,8:27>> I'm here for moral support.8:29>> No, you're not. I don't need your8:30[laughter] moral support.8:32You're going to You're going to have to8:33need life support very soon. [laughter]8:36[gasps]8:37>> What would Pastor Kim say about that?8:39>> Nothing. Pastor Kim, please don't watch.8:40>> He thinks he thinks he thinks8:42threatening your employees is something8:44[laughter] that's biblical.8:45>> No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.8:46>> Yeah. Where's that in the mitzvah?8:49[laughter]8:50>> So, yeah. No, there was a time where8:51since we're talking about God's love,8:53there was a time where Well, let me ask8:55you guys, have you guys ever felt like8:58God didn't love you9:00at a time or did you guys just not care?9:04I guess when I was younger, there would9:06be things like,9:09you know, like your parents hit you or9:12whatever it is, and you're like, you9:14can't understand like why God would9:17>> uh put you in a situation like that or9:19why why was I born? Yeah.9:21>> Things like that.9:22>> What about when you guys were Sorry. Go9:24ahead.9:25>> Hey, you didn't Oh, skip over him. No,9:27you're right. Waste of waste of film.9:29>> Aaron is God.9:30>> Yeah. Waste of memory card. My answer is9:32dumb anyways. But no, I've genuinely9:34never felt like God doesn't love me.9:36>> Wow.9:36>> He thought he was God.9:38>> That's the specialty of the Jews, guys.9:40The chosen people of God.9:42>> Like if anything ever bad was happening,9:44I figured it's either a my fault or just9:46like b randomly just something random9:48bad happened. But I've never felt like9:50I'm being like smited by God or I've9:52always felt like9:53>> That's crazy.9:54>> been loved by God. For sure.9:56>> That's crazy. Well, um Okay. What about10:00after being saved, Jeromeskis?10:02Have you ever felt that? Because you10:04said when you're a kid, but what about10:05after coming in learning biblical10:06salvation? You know,10:07>> I think that the way that you've taught10:09me, I've never felt that.10:11>> Whoa. You're welcome.10:12>> Yeah. Where's my money?10:14>> Thank you.10:16There was money involved in this10:17>> prosperity gospel.10:20The gospel.10:21>> You can just Venmo me. I'll send it to10:23him.10:23>> Okay. How much is it?10:25>> Tenth. A tenth of your uh what is it? A10:27tenth of your bank account. Okay. Well,10:29you pay pay me under minimum wage, $34710:32if anyone was curious, per hour.10:34>> So, whatever that is, go for it.10:37>> That's crazy.10:38>> He pays us below minimum wage cuz he10:40says cuz we can take tips. No one ever10:42tips us.10:43>> He also says it's biblical and he like10:45says like, "I don't believe in God if I10:48don't trust that God will bless." You10:49said those things?10:50>> No, I've never said that. But10:52>> Okay. But so you never felt that way10:54>> since coming to God? No. Because I think10:57that I let live my life my own way and10:59I'm realized that I just cursed myself.11:02[laughter]11:02>> It was like what decisions did God have11:04to like once once you realize it was11:06like every decision I made was myself11:09and I would be blaming God for decisions11:12that I made and then I'm not happy with11:15the outcome.11:16>> That's interesting. I I had that type of11:18epiphany too and revelation moment uh11:21when I first came to church. Our church11:23is very Korean. So I used to just have11:25>> What do you mean by that?11:26>> Well, we the pastor's Korean literally11:29doesn't speak English and has a11:31translator. And so every time we do this11:33called sidebyside translation every uh11:35Sunday, every service that we have and11:37so when I went there, I wasn't really11:40cultured when it comes to Korean11:42culture. Like not all Asians are the11:44same, right? Chinese culture is11:45different than Korean. There's a lot of11:46similarities and like crossing over. But11:50uh the one thing I noticed was like uh11:52Koreans have this thing called palyp11:54pali, right? Which means like they're11:56very fast. Everything is palyp palyp11:58pali like hurry hurry basically. And so12:02>> I'm like man I'm going to move at my own12:04pace. Whe if I want to move fast or like12:06a snail that's on me. So I remember12:08early on getting to the church and12:10wanting to move at my own pace. And I12:12didn't understand teamwork makes the12:14dream work. I was the type of person12:16that was like someone would say there is12:18no I in team and I'm like yeah but12:20there's a me and I would just be12:22literally [laughter] be so12:23>> there's a meat12:24>> there's a me12:25>> he's hungry12:27there's a meat there is a meat but yeah12:30there's a me and I would just be very12:31rebellious so I I I I would12:34misunderstand that people would uh they12:37were loving on me and trying to help me12:39level up and I I took it as very12:41defensive like why do I have to rush why12:44do I have to do this? Why do we spend so12:46much time going to Dallas and then, you12:48know, why do I we have to spend, you12:50know, Christmas in Dallas? Like, we12:52could be in LA. Why do we have to fly12:54out, drive 23 hours in this packed up12:57sardine bus and just be like get there,13:00listen to an old pastor preach, and then13:02come all the way back. And I felt so13:04like uh how do I say it was it was very13:07like frustrating. And I was like, God,13:09you saved me. you gave me all of these13:11unlocks, but when it comes to spiritual13:13life, I don't want to do any of these13:15things. Like, do I have to do these13:16things? And I really really went against13:18the church because of that for the first13:20couple years. And then I recognized that13:24God really does love people. Um, and he13:27he wants he didn't want me to stay in my13:30position of just being comfortable. Um,13:33he didn't want comfort to become my13:35idol. And I didn't even realize that13:37comfort was my idol. Like I was sitting13:40there and I was idolizing comfort. I'll13:42only do the things that Johnny wants to13:44do. And it was the same mindset of prior13:46to even being saved. I'm going to do13:48whatever I want. If I want to sell13:49drugs, want to make money, want to sleep13:51around, want to do, you know, drugs,13:53it's it's what I would do. And I was13:56carrying that energy into Christianity,13:58not even realizing that you have to deny14:00yourself. And I only saw that, I think,14:02on like year five where I recognized,14:05oh, there's a reasoning behind what14:06we're doing. So, yeah. What would you14:09say to the person that hears that and14:11they go, it almost puts them, if they're14:13a baby Christian, into the I need to try14:15mindset. Then I'm going to be I'm not14:18going to uh die to my or sorry, I'm not14:21going to follow my flesh. I'm going to14:23constantly resist anytime anything14:25somebody wants something from me, I'm14:27going to level up and be out there and14:29be a good strong Christian.14:30>> So yeah, that's not what I'm saying. I'm14:32saying even if you tried to do that, if14:33you receive grace, you might be able to14:35get it. But for the most part, it's more14:37of recognizing like things happen for a14:40reason and we are to allow those things14:42to happen. People tend to think that if14:46they're determined to do something that14:48it'll just come into fruition and nine14:50times out of 10 it does. Like if you14:51have a lot of discipline, if you work14:53hard, most of the time you'll get what14:55it is that you you're aiming for. But at14:58the same time, what happens to the times15:00where it doesn't happen like that? And15:02that's why there's a grace aspect. So I15:05went the complete opposite. And if15:07someone goes the complete opposite and15:09does what Jeremy does, you can if you15:12receive grace, obtain something, but you15:15also might not. So the smartest thing to15:17do is to go, I'm going to go hard and15:19I'm going to try, but God has to15:22ultimately allow the outcome, right? And15:23so if you focus on that then you you15:26can't it's not about don't go hard but15:28it's also not about don't you know I'll15:30just do what Johnny did too like I'll15:32just do whatever I want. It's it's15:33really whether I do this or that like I15:36need I need to receive grace. So yeah15:40>> yet yeah when it comes to you know love15:43too a lot of people feel like love is15:45subjective uh which it is but godly love15:49is not right. Like people usually have15:51this question, do does God love15:54everybody the same? And the truth is15:56like that's the wrong way to think about15:59it, right? Does God love everybody the16:01same? Obvious answer is yes, he does.16:03But at the same time, it is it's not16:05that God loves everybody the same. I16:08think God loves like you're the only16:10one. And that's what I had to discover16:13when I was younger was like God loves16:15you like you're the only person that he16:17loves which is different than thinking16:20of like does he love me the way he loves16:22them? Cuz when you start with the heart16:24of comparison then that's when you ask16:26those types of questions like does he16:27love everybody the same? Cuz now you're16:29questioning the judgment. You're16:31thinking if he's just he should love16:33everybody and be fair. We know all of16:35these things already. What I had to16:36discover was God loves you the way that16:40like as if you're the only person in the16:42world, which is really, really cool when16:44you think about it from that perspective16:46because then you really feel special16:48versus does God love everybody the same?16:50You're kind of like spiritually16:52pocket-watching other people to see if16:54like, well, if he loves that person and16:57he loves this person, he loves me, how16:58come we all have different blessings?17:00Then it starts to become comparison17:02mindset and and kind of performative and17:04stuff. Then what would you say17:54to the person that's maybe going through17:58what appears to be bad luck after bad18:00luck after bad luck after bad luck? It's18:02like I just clearly have it worse than18:04everybody else and I'm, you know, trying18:07to stay in that mindset that God loves18:09me, but18:10>> yeah,18:10>> life is tough.18:11>> But that's part of comparison, right?18:13Cuz people are looking sideways instead18:15of looking up, right? They're like, "How18:17can you say it's bad luck after bad luck18:19after bad luck if you're not looking and18:22comparing your luck to other somebody18:24else's luck, right?"18:25>> Well, let's say it's like really18:26extreme. I'm sorry. I'm playing the what18:27if18:28>> but he's But no, but to what he's18:30saying, like you have to you have to18:32compare yourself then to like the18:33Liberian children who don't even have18:35water and electricity. It's like what's18:37what's your bad luck? You could have the18:39worst luck 10 years in a row in America18:40and it's still better luck than whatever18:42they have on a daily basis. It's just18:44like it depends who you're comparing it18:46to.18:46>> Well, what if it's like you get like18:49terminal cancer?18:50>> Yeah.18:51>> It's like that's I would rather be the18:54Liberian person with no cancer.18:56>> Sure.18:57>> Sure.18:57>> That makes sense. But at the same time,18:59it's like it's not about, you know, our19:02our standard of love is not God's19:04standard of love, right? And cancer in19:07itself19:08>> uh is not necessarily a bad thing. I19:11mean there's my mom had it. The people19:14that I know sometimes and cancer19:15survivors can attest to this. I mentor19:17some of them is that they have the19:19strongest faith. And sometimes it takes19:22like crazy type like things like that to19:26be able to wake you and shake you out of19:28like your comfortability, out of you19:31know uh your kind of expectations and19:34and and build your gratitude, right? God19:37will use everything and anything to19:40build you up and also use anything to19:43break you down. So if if it if it's a19:45building season or a breaking season,19:47which are real things, um that's that's19:50the most important thing we have to19:52realize that the outcome too. You know,19:54people tend to transactionalize God a19:57lot where I'm noticing, especially19:59nowadays, they see me, they'll be like,20:01"Oh, he's got followers. Yeah, if I do20:04what he does, I'm going to get20:05followers, too." Oh, he has peace. Okay,20:08I want peace. So, I'm going to do20:09exactly what Johnny does. And then what20:11happens is when they do it and they20:13don't receive the peace and they don't20:14realize that from the foundation it was20:16a transactional mindset, then they get20:18frustrated. And this bleeds into the20:20same thing with the type of question20:22that Jeremy's asking is, you know, yeah,20:24someone gets terminal cancer, right?20:26Well, if you think about everything from20:28the standard of God, there is nothing20:30that we deserve. um you know like health20:33is not something that's given because if20:35that's the case no one would get sick,20:36right? It's it's not something that we20:39have to expect. We can't expect to be20:41healthy. We can expect however that20:43we're in a fallen world and there's20:45things that will actually make us20:47unhealthy. Like we're exposed to20:49microplastics every single day. We're20:51exposed to smog. Like if you live in a20:53metropolitan area, there are things that20:55are literally like killing you uh in in20:58even if you live in nicer countries.21:00Like it's just how it is. We die and we21:02deteriorate every day. You can expect21:03that because that's facts. But we tend21:05to again all the good in this world we21:08think like you know is is is um is an21:12expectation like we should expect that21:14and then anything bad we we shouldn't21:16expect that. But I've seen God do the21:19opposite where he uses all the bad21:21things to turn things into good because21:23that's what shows his glory the most.21:25You you can't appreciate health without21:28sickness. You just can't. I couldn't21:30appreciate my freedom without being21:32locked up. I couldn't appreciate life21:34without homies dying and me having21:36near-death experiences. I couldn't21:38experience those things. I I would I21:40wouldn't even appreciate those things at21:42all. And again, I couldn't even21:43appreciate running water and oxygen and21:46just all these different things until21:48going to like Liberia, Africa, doing my21:49short-term missionary there. So again,21:52it's just something that we have to21:53realize our standard is just not God's21:56standard. That's even on the most basic21:59level, we can understand my standard is22:01not God's standard. My way is not God's22:03way. My will is not God's will. And22:05that's just what it is. Do22:07>> you have anything to add?22:09>> He summed it all up what I was thinking22:10already. I think he22:12>> Well, what I was going to say is it's22:14almost kind of like when you're younger,22:18my mom would always make me clean or22:20like play the piano and things like22:22that. And I hated that stuff. Yeah.22:24>> And then when I got older, I was like,22:25"Okay, I see what my parents were trying22:27to do."22:28>> And it sucked. I remember just hating it22:31as a kid. And so I think that when we22:33talk about the concept of a God and what22:36godly love is, it's like we have no22:37concept of like you said outwardly, it's22:40like, "Oh, God gave that quote unquote22:42person cancer." But it's also like you I22:45think people also forget that like you22:47said humans give people cancer. We're22:49the ones poisoning our foods and doing22:52terrible things. It's like you don't22:54blame God for that mega corporation or22:56your your local town governor that's22:58like, you know, a crooked23:00>> politician or whatever it is that's like23:02poisoning23:04>> your children or whatever it is. Um, so23:06>> it's it's very interesting that a lot of23:10times we like to point blame at God, but23:13at the core of it, it's like you have23:14free will as well.23:15>> Well, it makes sense because like that's23:16how the enemy works, right? He's always23:18like, "Yeah, the mega corporation, but23:21God could have stopped it." Mhm.23:22>> Yeah. You know, there's evil things, but23:24God could stop it, right? And so, that's23:26the thing that people have to realize,23:27too, is I think the biggest issue in the23:30Christian community is God only, since23:34we're on the topic of God's love, is God23:37only loves me if I feel like he loves23:38me.23:39>> Like, that's the one thing I'm noticing,23:41not just in the Christian community, but23:43like in general, if you don't validate23:45my feelings and the way I feel right23:48now, you don't love me, you don't23:49respect me, you don't care about me. And23:51I think that's why the divorce rate is23:52like something crazy, right? Is because23:54we're literally sitting here and going,23:57you have to love me the way I think you23:59should love me, and that's what equates24:01to love. Whether or not you try and care24:04and do whatever you could break your24:05back, but it's if it's not to my24:07standard, you don't love me. And so, I24:10think that's like the most scariest24:12thing in in in just everything in24:14general. And until we as like a human24:18race like shift off of that, there's24:20just going to be a lot of depression,24:22isolation, emptiness, loneliness, and24:25sadness. It's just it's crazy.24:28How do you truly determine24:31how to love someone on God's standard?24:34Because I'll give an example. We all24:36work together and we have our24:38preferences at the end of the day. And24:40let's say you were just, you're very24:41nice, but let's say you were just like24:43rough, like very in intense with us all24:45the time. And it like, you know, he's24:48more sensitive and he cries all the time24:50over it. And I'm like, Aaron, like at24:53the end of the day, he's looking out for24:54you and you're going to be better at the24:56end of it. But he's like, I don't like24:57it when he calls me a curly-headed loser25:00and a clown and a, you know, holes in my25:03socks. Like, you know what I'm saying?25:06just a skinny weirdo,25:12bro.25:13>> Leakage,25:13>> but [laughter]25:15but you know, like but you're like at25:17the end of the day, you can see further25:19for Aaron and you're like, "This is25:20going to build character for him."25:22>> Sure. Sure.25:22>> But at the end of the day, he's just25:24like, "This doesn't feel like love at25:26all, and I don't want to subject myself25:28to this.25:29>> How are you supposed to convince him?"25:31>> Yeah.25:32>> This is good for you at the end of the25:33day. So I think25:34>> and I'm loving you. [laughter]25:36>> Sure. Breaking them down though like25:38obviously being negative like that is25:39not okay. But if we're all working25:41towards one goal like if somebody is you25:45know not as motivated and a person is25:47trying to motivate that's why25:49communication is very important. So25:51people don't realize God communicates25:53all the time through the Bible. But if25:56you're not reading the Bible how are you25:57going to understand what he's saying?25:58Right? It's kind of like he's People26:00don't realize God is always26:01broadcasting. So think about like a26:03radio station. God is always speaking26:05through his word. And let's say his word26:07for the sake of like just a easy analogy26:11is at 99.1, right? But your ears are set26:15to 99.2. Even if it's so close, it's 0.126:18off. You're not going to be able to hear26:20it accurately probably at all or at26:22least not, you know, clearly. And so in26:25the same way, the heart is like where26:27the the radios connect, right? The26:30frequencies connect. So, if the heart is26:32the same, it doesn't really matter if a26:34person's tonality is different or even26:36if they're joking. You have to be26:38matched at that. And I think that's what26:40people have to recognize is is if there26:44is this heart of, you know, I've26:46explained it to you. This is good for26:48the company. Um, you know, yeah, you26:50Aaron, you got to be X, Y, and Z because26:53it's for the greater goal. And he just26:55goes, I don't care. like I'm going to26:57hold on to whatever it is that I feel26:59because I feel like in a company you27:01should re react this way. That in itself27:04even on a surface level is going to be27:06incorrect because you're coming into27:08another person's company they have their27:10set standards. It's the same way as like27:13imagine going to God and going to his27:15house and going or going to somebody27:17else's house and just going I don't like27:19this lamp and you just start moving27:20things around. It's like well then get27:22out of my house. Right? It's it's27:23literally the same when it comes to God.27:25I don't like the way that God is running27:27this, this, and that. Yeah, but you're27:28in his house, though. Like, if anyone27:30went to your house and did the same27:32thing and started kicking things up and27:34rolling up the rug and removing27:35upholstery and things like that, you'd27:37be like, "Yo, what?" Like, "What are you27:39doing right now? Like, get out of here."27:41Right? And so, that's like the least27:42thing that you Some people would like27:44put hands on people would be crazy. In27:46the same way, we do that to God27:47spiritually and we do that to each other27:49spiritually, too, where we sit there and27:51we go, "Okay, this guy's focused on God.27:53um I think I'm focused on God, but27:56really it's for myself. And so we're27:57going to fight about this. And so that's28:00where again why we name the congregation28:02core of the heart is that at the core of28:05your guys' hearts, there has to be at28:07least some kind of uh mutual agreement28:11when it comes to a mission or it comes28:13to a goal or it comes to a target. Like28:16it has to be those things. Otherwise, it28:19says in Amos 3:7, "Can two walk28:22together? less they be agreed like you28:24have to at least agree on something you28:26know and so I think with us we all have28:29that even in our company like that we28:31all have different uh preferences as you28:33say and different heart postures at28:34times but what's really good about us is28:37that we communicate and we realign and28:39we kind of almost know like okay this is28:43how this person's going to react and we28:44all kind of bend Aaron says something28:46really good he's like everybody's28:48bending right at the company they're but28:50you don't want someone to bend so much28:52that they break and that's very28:54important too. Yeah.28:56>> And then what happens if you're not you28:58don't all have the same goal or mission29:00and29:00>> and that's why things break, right? Is29:03is is is literally because um Pastor Kim29:07said something crazy before, but it's so29:09true when you saying this kind of29:10triggered this memory. He goes, "Johnny,29:12we could if we have the same heart, we29:15could rob a house together." And I was29:17like, "Yes, [laughter]29:19it's exactly what I want." No, I'm just29:21kidding. But literally he was trying to29:22teach me this was I think year two or29:25year three of my walk. He was like29:26Johnny we all we can we can do anything29:30together but we have to be onehearted.29:32Again this was a difficult concept for29:34somebody who doesn't even know about God29:36to then learn about what what is this29:38oneheartedness mean? Like does it mean I29:40just follow everything you say and I get29:42no say? Like what does it mean? Being29:45onehearted is both of us matching the29:47same energy, the same thought process.29:50um it doesn't have to be the same29:52patterns or like just the mechanisms,29:54but it's more of like I know what you're29:56aiming at and I'm aiming at the same29:58thing, right? And so I if that any type30:02of business, whether it's a relational30:04uh you know, financial relationship, any30:07type of just relationship in general, if30:09you're not onehearted, if you're not30:11focused on one thing, then two things30:14have to happen. one either you bend and30:16you guys mold and you communicate to the30:18point where you do become onehearted and30:20interconnected or you break you break30:22up.30:23>> That makes a lot of sense. Actually30:24gives a lot of clarity because if God30:27has his goals and you're not onehearted30:30with it because people are just confused30:32on what the one heart is. They they have30:34their own goals. They have their own30:35timing. They're not even necessarily30:36sure what God's goals are for them.30:38That's their confusion when it come.30:40That's the bending until breaking30:41because they don't have that single30:43singular goal alignment with God. And30:45then it's like, okay, well, I've been30:47trying this. I'm trying that, but he30:48doesn't love me. He doesn't love me30:49until they're like, I'm done with the30:50church. I'm done with God. I'm done with30:52all this in general. Um, so I guess it's30:53just from30:55ignorance basically and just not knowing30:57what God's actual goals are for you. And31:00then I guess the only way to combat that31:01would be to get in your word.31:04>> Yeah, guys, daily devotionals are back.31:06Every morning, I'll send you a31:08devotional that I personally write31:09rooted in scripture to help you with31:11your spiritual walk with God and make31:13the gospel a habit in your life. My hopes to help you31:25guys grow with your spiritual life each31:28and every day. What would you say for31:29people in relationships, right? like31:31they get married or they get together31:33for a certain reason and people change31:34over time and31:37yeah like the the the misalignment31:40starts to happen.31:41>> Yeah.31:41>> Um in the Christian religion it's like31:44you figure it out and you stay together31:45no matter what. Right.31:47>> But31:48>> what about people who are not31:49>> Yeah. who just Yeah. or not Christian31:51and it's like you just break up or31:53>> Yeah. No. No. It that's why the31:54communication is very important in all31:57things. You don't have to be Christian31:58but you have to communicate, right? you32:00have to communicate. Um, communication32:03is just a way that you hearts flow. It's32:06it's it brings clarity. Um, it kind of32:10exposes the blind spots that you guys32:12have that you may have again not were32:14ignorant to or or just weren't aware of.32:17And so, learning how to communicate is32:20really big. But the the the the32:22underlying issue that I notice with most32:24couples is not their communication is is32:27off. It's the receptive skills. It's the32:30listening to that communication. Each32:32person and I think most people express32:34themselves very well. Like there's very32:37few people that I know that don't really32:38know how to express what they're32:40feeling, right? They just have to be32:41like mad enough to like express what32:43they're really feeling. The issue is is32:45the other person receiving what you're32:48expressing. That's the most important.32:50Are they listening to what you're32:51communicating? That's the biggest issue32:53for most people. And so, uh, what I32:56teach people is like if you're finishing32:58a person's sentence, if you're sitting33:01there and just listening just to wait to33:03like respond or if you're just emotional33:06and you you already feel like like that33:08inkling of like, "This person's dumb. I33:10don't even know why they're talking."33:11The best thing to do is remove yourself33:13from that situation because what's going33:15to happen is it's going to you're going33:17to say some you're going to throw some33:18blows. You're going to throw some jabs.33:20You're going to you're going to catch a33:21stray. you guys are literally just going33:22to sit there and argue and it's not33:24good. So sometimes taking a hike,33:27walking around, letting you know33:29yourself to uh process those emotions.33:32You'll notice like even taking a nap33:33like that helps at times, you know. Um33:36but at the end of the day, it's not just33:38this isn't just for Christian brothers33:40and sisters. Like if you sit there and33:42you're recognizing those hearts are33:44arising out of you, man, this person's33:46stupid. Oh my gosh, look at how she33:47makes her face. Like look at like all33:49these little things that happen. you're33:51already in a point where you're closed33:53off. That's called your heart being33:54closed, as we say. Then if something is33:57closed, it doesn't matter how much you33:59force it in, it's not going to enter. So34:01the best thing to do is to remove34:03yourself. It's it's literally pause,34:05take a breather, whatever you got to do,34:08even if you got to just say, "I can't34:09listen to anything right now. I think34:10I'm super emotional. I got to walk out.34:12I got to take a walk." Like people will34:14actually understand that. They will34:16understand that.34:16>> Yeah. So when you're communicating34:18someone in that situation, you're like,34:21I could be communicating my needs to you34:23and being like, I need it this way or34:24whatever. This is how I feel, but I34:26could still technically be wrong. Yeah.34:28>> Right. And vice versa.34:29>> And so you're supposed to take it to the34:31word, right?34:32>> Yeah.34:32>> But what if both people are not uh34:36seasoned in the word or34:39>> one person is not and the other person34:40is better? And34:41>> so they don't even need to take it to34:42the word, right? and the twisting that.34:44Well, I'll address that. But they don't34:46you don't even have to have to take it34:47to the word. You have to take it to what34:49God would do. So, if you're sitting here34:51and your needs are being, you know, you34:53have these specific needs and um your34:56that need you have to recognize does it34:59align with God at all? Like if Jesus was35:02here, would he approve of this? And35:05that's that's the most important thing,35:07right? At least you're thinking about,35:09okay, would God allow this? Does this35:11align with Jesus versus does this align35:13with me? Because arguments usually35:15happen when it's like, well, I feel like35:17this is right and you don't. So, like,35:19you need to now either match me or I35:21have to match you. No, you guys both35:23have to match God. And it's very simple.35:25It's a simple question of when we're35:27arguing and we're we're uh you know35:30trying to establish a point, is that35:33point pointing to me or is it pointing35:35to Jesus Christ? Uh I'll give an35:37example. If a person sits there and they35:39go, "On Sundays, a woman and let's say a35:42couple gets together and the the the the35:44woman's like, "Oh, you know, uh on35:47Sundays I I I want to go to church." But35:51the guy's like, "But it's Super Bowl35:53Sunday. Like I want to watch football,35:56right?" In this predicament, you can35:58just the the man can think like, "Would36:00God want me to stay at church, spend36:02some time at church, and come back and36:04even catch the game a little later?"36:05Like, that's fine. um but be there and36:08realign with the word of God or would36:10you know or is my wife just nagging me36:12and forcing me to go to church? Like you36:14have to make that distinction. One36:15pushes you towards God. The other one is36:17like I don't want to go there. It's like36:20I want to I want to like follow myself.36:22>> Let me give you another example. That36:24one's a little more obvious cuz it's36:25church or football.36:26>> Yeah.36:27>> Uh36:27>> I already know36:28>> what's the Oh, what's my scenario then?36:30And you feel36:30>> it's just going to be more like, you36:32know, biblical. Like one's going to go,36:34"Well, the Bible says this."36:36>> No, no, no, no, no. It'll be something36:37as simple as this.36:39>> The wife is like, "Hey, on Sundays, I'd36:41like you to help me clean the house."36:43And the husband's like, "Yo, I work all36:45day. Like, it's my day of rest and I'm36:47grinding." Yeah.36:48>> Like both could in their head be like36:51the wife could be like, "Well, Jesus36:53would want the husband to serve and36:55support like the family or whatever."36:56And the husband's like, "I'm Jesus would36:59want me to rest." Yeah, because I'm I'm37:00working hard or whatever it is. You know37:02what I'm saying? He's like, "Well, I do37:03this, so you should do that." Actually,37:05what are you doing in that?37:06>> Well, they're both wrong in that37:07situation because like you just said, "I37:10did this, so you should do that. I'm a37:11bread winner because the man can think37:13like this, right? The right way to be to37:15think would be this. I work hard, but I37:19receive grace to do that because if God37:21doesn't wake me up,37:22>> I won't be able to go and make that37:23money." So then the heart of I do this,37:25I do this would die right there. The37:27woman could be like, "Yeah, I'm it is my37:29job to clean and it would be nice for37:31him to help me, but again, God has to37:34give him also the grace and has to give37:35me the grace to be able to receive37:37help." And if not, like I need I need37:39grace for it to be clean. I I'm cleaning37:41cuz I want it a specific way, but I have37:43to go to God about this. Hey Lord, I37:45want to clean. please maybe give my37:47husband the heart to either help me37:49clean or maybe allow us to make a little37:51more money so I can get a maid or I can37:54you know like like you're you're now37:56going to Jesus versus like37:58>> well I I I work hard and you work hard38:01and we need to find a it's like no you38:03don't have to do that you just go to God38:05and that's why it's difficult for people38:06who don't have God because that aspect38:09gets removed and now it's my standard38:12and your standard and even sometimes38:13that works because compromise does work38:15There are people who are very happy38:17without God in their marriage, right?38:18That that's that's the truth. But38:20they've even that they found a way to38:23think about somebody else. They found a38:24way to go, all right, let's work38:26together and and that's because of38:28communication. That's because I heard38:31you out and listened to you and38:32validated that point and then I can bend38:35because of that. So it all starts with38:37listening and hearing people out and38:39that's what it comes down to and then38:40seeking something outside of yourself.38:43That person who's agnostic, atheist, who38:46doesn't believe in Jesus is thinking,38:48well, I'm I'm the wife, so I should be38:50supporting. I should help them. Like,38:52they stepped out of themselves, right?38:54And that that's what it comes down to.38:56>> Yeah. All these things, you know, that38:58work in the world, therapy, I'm not39:00saying those things don't work, but like39:02a lot of it comes from the Bible and39:04just the principle, core principles,39:07which is think about other people.39:09You're not number one. You're not the39:10main character. And how put yourself in39:13their shoes. Put yourself in their shoes39:15is literally what Jesus did. Literally39:17put himself in our flesh. Put himself in39:20our shoes and then died for us. Right.39:21So it's the same thing. They just39:23stripped Jesus out of it if you think39:24about it. Yeah.39:27>> Wow,39:29[laughter]39:34>> dude. It also39:35>> look at how he has too much space now.39:37He's like shifting around the seat. He39:40scooted himself into a corner.39:42>> I [laughter] like this corner.39:44No, I'm starting to really grasp the39:46grace thing lately. It's It's uh It's39:49interesting.39:49>> Yo, I'm not going to lie, Aaron. You I39:52noticed that, too. I could just see you39:54like more chill. Like, you'll pop off,39:57but it's not it's it's the the comeback40:00is so quick.40:01>> It's it's it's like I I I I got it. like40:05it it doesn't need a lot of like uh like40:07you know and you never really need a40:09correction but I'm saying like it takes40:10a lot it doesn't need a lot of like40:12communication. It's like you'll come on40:14and already know like I I understand40:17what what happened you know versus40:18before it was more like40:20>> it he would literally ask like is there40:23anything else I'm doing wrong besides40:24that though? Like he would say that and40:26then now it's like40:27>> I got it40:29>> you know so it's it's pretty cool. Yeah.40:31I think I would I think I'm like40:34just in my whole life and growing up I'm40:36very quick to blame people or like40:38>> or even if it not even if it's just40:40their fault my fault sort of thing just40:41blame people in general even for40:43something they did I'm like this guy40:44must be a bozo or just things like that40:47>> or like even when I'm driving I'm like40:49cut this guy's license pull him off the40:51road take his car away this guy must be40:53>> I have seen parts when you did that40:55that's funny40:55>> now it's just kind of like40:56>> John Vale [laughter]40:58>> now I just realized that Jeremy just41:00didn't receive the grace to know how to41:02drive like a normal person.41:03just like I you can kind of relock in41:05like I like it really obviously it's41:07always made sense but it was crazy this41:10weekend41:11>> when certain things may or may not have41:13made you feel a certain type of way and41:14you just are like well that they must41:16have not have received the grace to have41:18seen it like this and I'm just like dang41:20that's how you think about like okay41:22>> I'd be so mad at them but41:24>> like okay I guess they didn't receive41:26the grace like it just me and it all41:27yeah it's very calming in that sense41:29because when you think about it for41:30yourself and for other people you don't41:31blame yourself you don't blame other41:33people. It's just kind of like41:34>> yeah,41:34>> it is what it is to an extent.41:36>> So, what I love about grace, man, it41:37levels the playing field, right? And41:39then obviously there are people who41:42even like I've had this question where41:44it's like, okay, well, what if you have41:47that mindset and people know you have41:49that mindset and then they abuse it41:51>> because that that that can happen,41:52right? They'll take advantage. Oh,41:54Johnny will just know and then I can41:55just sit there and go, well, I need41:56grace. I didn't get this done. I didn't41:58get that done. Right? And even that42:00though is grace in terms of like if I42:03sit here and I go, God, if that person42:05is like that, I can't change them. I42:07can't fix them. I need grace for you to42:09then fix them, too. You get what42:10[clears throat] I'm saying? Like it's42:11it's just this layer of constant grace,42:13which is really really cool.42:15>> You're right. It levels the playing42:16field.42:17>> Yes. 100%, bro. 100%. And every time I I42:20stay like that, I realize God is not42:22going to let me just get taken advantage42:24of or like get punked like that. He42:26always switches people. I noticed that42:27even about like my friends, my my family42:30members would do that to me and I would42:32just be like, "All right, God. I want to42:34pop off because I'm just, you know, I'm42:36going to be like, "Yo, I see what you're42:37doing. I'm not dumb." But at the same42:39time, when I just go, "Okay, God, not42:42only do I see it, but you definitely see42:44it. And if you see it, if I put my hands42:47on it, I'll probably make it worse.42:49Lord, whatever you need to do for me to42:51receive the grace, I understand it. I42:53need grace." And he always changes it.42:56He always changes people's hearts. I've42:58had people come up to me and apologize43:00and be like, "Yo, bro,43:02>> I had this dude I we all have that one43:04friend where I I I I tend to like to pay43:07for people's food. I just for me I I I43:10think my mom raised me to to be like43:12food equates to love. Even my dad when43:14he would beat me, he would then make me43:16like a bowl of black bean noodles. It43:18was weird. So like after me getting beat43:20up, I would then be like, "Oh, the food43:23like I hope it's going to like I would43:24look forward to the food after, right?43:26It was so weird." And so that's a big43:28thing for me where like I I when I break43:30bread with people, I like to kind of43:32like take take care of them. So I would43:34do this where I would go out with the43:36homies and I would buy the the the I43:38would pay for all of their meals. Like43:40even if it's like a $1,000 tab, I would43:42just do it, right? And [snorts] it got43:44to the point where I noticed this one43:46dude who just from the hood, he just43:49would never pay. He never not even a43:51wallet reach. We all have a friend like43:52that who's like like freeloads and why43:55it's not Aaron. What the hell,43:57>> dude? I'm just sitting here like this.44:00>> He's lying. But yeah, so um and then one44:04day, you know, I I remember just like44:06getting mad and I'm like, man, this guy44:09is like horrible, right? So I checked44:11him. But ever since I checked him, he44:14stopped coming out with us to eat,44:16>> right? And then uh like years later, I44:20ran into him and I was obviously saved44:22at this time. And it was at the mall, I44:25remember. And he was like, "Yo, Johnny,44:27bro, I just want to let you know, man.44:29Like, I I want to apologize to you." And44:31I was like, "For what?" Now, mind you,44:33this is long gone. Like, I don't even44:35care, you know? I just remember seeing44:36like, "What's up, homie? How you doing?"44:37>> And he's like, "Yeah, bro. Um, man, I I44:41used to really have this kind of44:42predatory opportunistic mindset, bro.44:45And I did a lot of like soulsearching,44:47bro. And he wasn't saved or anything,44:48but he was just like, I want to44:50apologize if I've ever made you feel44:52like I used you. Cuz back then, I I that44:55was my thing. I would just use people.44:57And I was just like, that's gra that's44:59grace. Like, I didn't have to tell him.45:01I didn't I just told him one time. But45:03like years later, he got it and was45:05like, "My bad." You know what I'm45:07saying? versus like if I was just like45:09change right there right now, which was45:10what I did when I checked them. He45:12literally the first time he was like,45:14"What are you talking about, bro? Bro,45:15if you want me to pay, bro, I ain't45:16broke. Like, you could just ask me.45:18Like, you never asked me. I thought you45:19wanted to." I'm like, "Who the hell45:21wants to pay like out of 20 times, 19 of45:23the times? Like, what are you talking45:25about?" And he's like, "Well, you should45:26have told me. You should have." That was45:27his defense. You should have told me.45:28You should have told me. And try to like45:30gaslight me to make me feel like I was45:32stupid and I wanted to do those things,45:33you know? And so it went from that to45:36like, yo, for real, my bad. Like, I know45:38what I was doing. And I actually was45:40trying to just not feel bad about that.45:42And when you called it out, I just45:43wasn't ready to hear it. But here's45:45where it is and my fault. And let me45:47take you out to eat, bro. Wherever you45:49want. Mastros, whatever. Like Nou, all45:51the expensive stuff that you used to45:52take us to. Let's go.45:54>> Can I come?45:55>> Well, this was years a couple years ago,45:57like three, four years ago.45:58>> But yeah, it was just really cool. You46:00know,46:00>> you need grace.46:01>> Yeah, you need grace, dude.46:02>> There's a lot of it.46:03>> No. Right. Or like you'll get a random46:05call years later from someone you46:06haven't spoken to in years like after46:08praying about it and they'll kind of46:10apologize or something.46:11>> Yeah.46:11>> What was interesting to also see it live46:13when you went to the George Jenko46:15podcast46:15>> and the difference of George and his46:17wife was he was bullied46:20>> his whole childhood and never could have46:22any friends. And that strengthened him46:24to not to be able to be a performer and46:25not care about what people say. Says46:28where she's the opposite. She was a46:29model at a young age and everyone saying46:31you're beautiful and smart and whatever46:33and that validation when she got older46:36it was like hard for her to let go of46:37that and she was always trying to people46:38please and he couldn't understand in the46:41beginning he was just like oh just like46:42just like ignore it like it doesn't46:44matter and she's like no you don't46:45understand like46:46>> and then you you kind of helped him46:48connect the dots but right there I was46:49getting a lie I was like whoa that's46:52grace you and and at the end of the day46:55in his mind it's like oh I was I was uh46:58the experiences I went through made me a47:01tougher, stronger person. But again,47:03that's God kind of being like, yeah, God47:05being like, look, like47:07>> you're gonna go through this, but it's47:08going to47:09>> pan out for the greater good. Similar to47:11how you went through what you did so47:13that you could be relatable to47:14everybody.47:15>> I think would you say that your past47:17though is grace? Cuz it's almost like47:20>> trial by fire though.47:21>> 100%.47:22>> Is it grace? That would be the term you47:24use, not like47:25>> Yeah. hero's journey like47:27>> no 100% grace I think uh number one to47:31make it out that is already grace most47:33people would die right secondly to make47:36it out and still like learn from it grow47:40from it is also grace like it's all it's47:43all grace at the end of the day to then47:44be able to articulate it in a way and47:47then understand everyone else because I47:49went through that type of stuff is also47:50grace like there's just it's just so47:52many layers to it and all layers of47:54grace47:55Yeah, but even with George, like he he47:58was saying that he was like, "Wait,48:00before anything, why do you even care48:01about what people say about you?"48:03>> And he's like, "I didn't even know48:04that." That's what he's like, "I didn't48:05even know that you you felt like that."48:07And that's when I realized, "Oh my gosh,48:09he doesn't understand grace." And so48:11that's why I leaned into that. And it48:13took a little while, right? But even48:14then, at the end, he was like, "Got it.48:16I understand now. I understand now." You48:18know? And he's like, "Whoa, that's48:20crazy. Like, yeah, I guess it's true.48:22Like, I had to I got bullied. no one48:24liked me. I was in a special ed class48:27and I, you know, I just had to like fend48:29for myself. Whereas she was the complete48:32opposite, right? And so this kind of uh48:35again, she was able to see that, oh,48:37there's grace on the other side, too,48:39where it's like he needs grace to see48:41that he has grace. Like there's also48:43that, right? And so it's just so many48:45intricate levels. And I think that's why48:47like there's nothing like our podcast or48:49nothing like spiritual life cuz you how48:52do you explain this to somebody unless48:54you sit there in real time and go, "Oh48:57my gosh." Okay, so that person needs48:58grace to see themselves. That person49:00needs grace that they can't see49:02themselves and that they can see49:03themselves. It's like, "Oh my." And then49:05this, we all need grace for him to then49:07explain the grace to us for him to see49:09himself and him not to see himself. Like49:11it's so much. It's so much layers to49:13this. It's crazy, but it's so fun. And49:14then the perspective though is when you49:16see that you're like, "Oh, I could be49:18more graceful or patient to the people49:19around me because look at what I got out49:22of this."49:22>> That's the level.49:23>> And then the other thing, the crazy49:25thing is your story cuz I was sitting49:27here and you're saying that I'm like,49:28"Dang, it's like God put like gave like49:30Johnny like prestige mode." Like here's49:32life on prestige [laughter] mode. But I49:34was thinking I was like the things that49:35I went through that I thought was hard.49:37I'm like, "At least I wasn't him. At49:39least I didn't have to go through that49:40because I think I would have crumbled."49:42>> You know what I'm saying?49:43>> Yeah. It's so crazy. It goes both ways49:45because if someone goes crazier than me,49:47that's also grace, too, because they49:48probably have a different depth. They49:50probably understand things on a49:51different level. So, again, it it really49:54is if you think about it. I'm not just49:55saying it. Everything is operating off49:57of grace, at least foundationally. And49:59so, it's just kind of crazy when you50:02understand the the concept of grace.50:06Things really start to unlock in a way50:08that it's it's crazy. And I know now why50:10Satan is so big on the message of grace50:13because he doesn't want you to have the50:15unlocks. If you sit there and you're50:17legalistic like we saw it in real time,50:19George could not he we sat there for50:21like a good 10 minutes to explaining he50:24was locked like I don't Wait, why50:26though? Why? Why? Like he couldn't get50:27it until he finally was able to see that50:30oh my gosh this is Grace and now it50:32makes sense that she could be that way50:34and I'm not going to have to like judge50:36her or come off as like judgy, you know?50:38So it was really cool. It was really50:40cool. Us all going through different50:42different things in life, right? Uh50:44people will then always ask this50:45question like does God love us50:47differently in terms of like you know if50:50we sin? So me being a sinner sinned a50:54lot uh did evil things lived in the50:56streets and Jeremy didn't really sin a50:59lot. say then does God would God you51:03know most people would think that God51:05loves someone like me less because I'm51:07actively uh rebelling against him right51:10versus like you being a pastor like yeah51:12you you rebelled and we all do to some51:14extent but there's levels to this right51:16and so51:17>> I didn't rob nobody51:19>> I didn't hold anybody at gunpoint51:22I didn't poke them with sharp objects51:25that would make them feel uncomfortable51:27>> okay true51:30We're hiring, guys. Core of the Heart is51:31hiring. But listen carefully. We're not51:34just building a company. We're building51:35one of the fastest growing Christian51:37communities in the world. In just a year51:38and a half, this community has grown to51:40over 3 million strong. And we're nowhere51:42near done.51:43>> Our mission is simple but massive. To51:45build the best tools and resources to51:46help anyone in the world get closer to51:48God.51:49>> Our first immediate goal is to get a 10051:51million people into heaven. So when we51:53say we're hiring, understand this. We're51:55not looking for employees. We're looking51:56for missiondriven A players that want to51:58change the world. Our criteria is52:00simple. Don't show us what you could do.52:02Show us what you've already mastered.52:03Like, if you want to be the short form52:04editor, show me the millions of views52:06you've gotten on Short Form. If you want52:07to be the podcast producer, show me the52:09shows that you've successfully produced.52:11We've learned the hard way not to hire52:12off potential. We just want to hire off52:14of peer experience. People who have52:15already proven that they can perform at52:17their skill set at the highest level. We52:19have jobs available in many different52:21departments. Media and content, live52:23events, and marketing. We also have52:25remote jobs and LA based jobs available.52:27If you're an A player that has mastered52:28their craft and wants to do something52:30that glorifies God, then please head to52:32the link in our description and check52:34out the job board. And lastly, if you're52:35an absolute beast at something and you52:37don't see it on the job board, please52:39reach out. I mean, you know, you might52:40be able to do it for us. It might work52:41out. So, if you're amazing at something,52:43you don't see the perfect job52:44description, just reach out. Tell us52:45what you're good at. Maybe it'll work.52:47>> Genuinely, I can't do this without a52:48team. So, I'm very thankful for anyone52:50who supports the mission. I look forward52:52to hearing from you guys. So, does God52:54love you?52:54>> Me and you are standing next to God. You52:56would think that I would get a slightly52:58nicer tent in heaven.53:00>> Yeah. Right. So, does God love you more53:03if you're if you [clears throat] don't53:04sin as much or does God love you less if53:06you sin? Right. That is no. Not true.53:09Because first and foremost, the aspect53:11of grace, it levels the playing field53:13for everybody. In my standard, I may sin53:15an x amount of times and Jeremy may sin53:19x amount of times less than me, but53:21we're both still sinners in front of53:23God. So, what God sees it as is we're53:25all the same. Uh, it's kind of like a53:27house fly that lives in the house and a53:30and a and a house fly that lives in the53:32garbage. They're both house flies. One53:35is in maybe in a better situation, but53:37it doesn't change their identity and it53:38doesn't change the fact that they're53:39still filthy, right? And so, uh, you53:42would not allow flies in your house. Um,53:44and you wouldn't even want them in your53:45garbage either. So, it's all it's just53:47nasty, right, at the end of the day. But53:49people who think that God loves people53:53more if they don't sin as much or loves53:55people less when they sin more is53:58because they're performance-based. They54:00think that God's love is performative.54:02It's based off of behavior. Okay, the54:05more I do good, the more God loves me.54:07The less I do good, the less God loves54:10me. And that's just not true. The one54:12thing I can say with sin though is that54:14it's not completely ruled out because54:17sin doesn't make God love you less, but54:21it makes you feel God's love less.54:23That's what I would say. So when you54:25sin, it's easier to go, "Oh my gosh,54:28God's not happy with me." Versus if54:30you're not sinning, then you won't54:32really feel it as bad. Right? It's the54:34same as like if you if you sit there,54:36you're going to have more peace if you54:38don't commit a crime versus when you do54:40commit a crime. It's just the truth.54:42It's not that, you know, you you're more54:44free from it. It's more of, oh, I I54:47sense it more now. So, a lot of the54:49times, you know, I'll say it again. Sin54:51does not make God love you less, but it54:54does make you feel God's love less.54:56That's just the truth. And pastor told54:58me that a long time ago where he's like,55:00"Of course, Johnny, like you're55:01righteous and you're perfected. But when55:03you're actively going out there doing55:05things and rebelling against God, it55:07makes a very strong argument for Satan55:09to then use that in court of your mind55:11and go, see, you call yourself a55:13Christian. You think God loves you. It55:15it makes it harder for you to go, dang.55:18Like, no, God still loves me. I'm under55:20grace. Because you're actively in your55:21sin. So, I would say that55:23>> I'm going through like a55:26it's like a okay, so here's the person55:28that's like, okay, well, I don't even55:30need to try to earn God's love and I55:32don't have to try to like worry about my55:35sins and what I do that's going to55:38change his love level.55:40>> Yeah.55:40>> So,55:41>> why then would I pursue his love?55:43>> Yeah. But then it's also like because55:44it's relational, right? It's not like55:46you would just ignore your your55:48significant other or whatever it is.55:50It's like55:52>> I kind of know what you're saying, but55:54God God55:55>> he already knew every sin that you were55:57going to commit, right? And he still55:59like died for you and chose you. So that56:01in itself is love. If you truly56:04understand that, then you won't even try56:07to like earn his love. You'll naturally56:09just fall in love with him. Right?56:11People are always trying to earn God's56:13love and trying to prove their love for56:15God. No. Like the byproduct of you56:18loving God is recognizing how much he56:20loved you. Like that's the number one56:22thing that people get wrong, right? So56:24God is not going to stop loving you56:26because you didn't do well. And he's not56:29going to love you more because you do56:30well. If you understand that like56:33foundationally, then you won't even56:35think about those types of things like56:36do I love God enough today? Does God56:38love me enough today? You would be so56:40overjoyed with his love that even though56:43you mess up, God still loves you. It it56:46literally blocks out any type of56:48condemnation. Like love casts out fear.56:51Love casts out hate. Love casts out56:53condemnation and curse and evil. So all56:56those evil thoughts would be casted out56:57if you really do understand the concept57:00of God's love. I don't think, however, a57:02lot of people, at least from what I've57:04seen, understand truly what God's love57:06is. They're more focused on I want to57:09show God that I love him and I want to57:11show other people how much I love God57:14versus57:15>> I want to show other people God's love.57:18Like this is what God did through me and57:20he loves me so much. Like you should be57:22focusing on that versus like look at how57:24much I love God. You see how much I deny57:26myself. You see how much I go to church.57:28You see how much I tithe and I pray and57:30I fast. That's like me loving God. It's57:33like no no no. God has to love us. Like57:36we can't just love God. Our love does57:37nothing for God. But God's love does57:39everything for us.57:41>> Bars.57:42>> It's always like that the meme of like57:44it's like someone hitting a buzzer57:46beater. It's like the thief on the57:47cross.57:48>> Yeah.57:50>> Lived. He was a thief and then at the57:51last second he got into heaven.57:53>> And I guess that like makes people57:54upset.57:55>> Um I guess my other question is in that57:57case why this is a little dumb. In that58:01case, why does it matter if I read58:04>> NL, NIV, ELT, KJV? I'm still trying to58:08>> get close to and love God and, you know,58:12it's just easier to read.58:13>> Yeah. It doesn't really matter. But I58:15think there's a heart posture you can58:17learn from different versions of the58:19Bible. Like KJV has God's heart posture58:22and you're not reading the Bible to like58:24know about God's love. I mean58:26technically you could know about God's58:28love without reading the Bible because58:30you just look at Jesus and the cross and58:32that in itself is God's love. Who the58:34hell would give up their only begotten58:37son? Any of you guys give up your son58:39for the whole world that's innocent and58:41would go against God and all these wars58:43and evil people and Epstein file people58:45like58:46>> I give up my friend.58:47>> Yeah, but your your only begotten son,58:49right? Would you ever do that? No, of58:52course not.58:53>> Like this is worthless. Like my friend58:54isn't worth58:55>> He sat there. He went [laughter]58:59>> My friend isn't worth it to give up.59:01>> No, because you have to give up your59:03son. A friend is different than a son.59:05>> He's dissing you. Says you're not worth59:07it.59:08>> No, he's spitting bars.59:09>> Yeah, that's what I was going to say.59:10Thanks.59:11>> Any more questions? [laughter]59:15>> Anything else?59:16>> But so you're saying that I don't need59:17to read my Bible at all? No, I'm not59:18saying59:20[laughter]59:22>> I'm He's like, I'll let you answer this.59:24No, I'm not saying that. I'm saying if59:26you love God so much, you would do59:28everything correctly, right? Like59:30technically,59:32if two people are married and they love59:34each other, you don't tech, you guys59:37know you love each other, you don't59:39technically have to get them a a gift on59:42Valentine's Day. they would like all the59:44other 364 days out of the year you're59:48showing them how much you love them. But59:49then why do you go extra hard on59:50Valentine's Day? Why do you go? It's59:53because you love them. That's why you59:55would do that. So if you really did love59:57God, you would want to be accurate. You59:59would want to know what is it that God1:00:01wants me to read? What it's not like1:00:03that mindset is still me at the center1:00:05of everything, right? like, well, if1:00:07it's if I'm already loved by God, what1:00:10the heck do I have to like show or prove1:00:12or do anything for? No. No. That's the1:00:14reason. If you're truly loved by God and1:00:16you understand his love, why wouldn't1:00:18you want to do things for God? Like, why1:00:20wouldn't you want to treat every single1:00:22day like it's a big day and thankful and1:00:25grateful and loving on other people? Why1:00:27wouldn't you want to help other people1:00:28and forgive people? Because that, you1:00:30know, that's what you know makes the1:00:33person that you love, God, happy. Why1:00:35wouldn't you want to do those things?1:00:37>> Yeah, that answered my question.1:00:39>> Yeah,1:00:40>> I think Valentine's is lame. So, if1:00:42you're a woman,1:00:43>> dude, low key though.1:00:45>> Low key.1:00:46>> It's the cornest.1:00:47>> I just I just feel like people get mad.1:00:49I've seen that happen. So, you guys1:00:50don't know. This guy's a valent1:00:52Valentine's Day. I think is valid. That1:00:54>> No, those are valid days.1:00:56>> There's like you said, 364 days of the1:00:58year to show up.1:00:58>> Here's the thing, right? It's valid1:01:00until you're like, "Hey, if you don't do1:01:03this for me, like you don't love me." I1:01:05think that's what's really bad.1:01:07>> And I think it should be reversed where1:01:09it's like equal.1:01:11>> What if someone expressed what if a1:01:12woman expressed like, "I really like1:01:13holidays. It only happens a few times a1:01:16year and I lean into them."1:01:17>> That's okay. You'll find someone that1:01:18likes [laughter]1:01:19>> It would really mean a lot to me if you1:01:22did something special on Valentine's1:01:23Day.1:01:24>> That's cool.1:01:26And then Jeremy doesn't do it. I'm going1:01:29to think, okay,1:01:30>> well, you better communicate. You better1:01:32communicate why you're not doing it.1:01:34>> Like, ah, I can't hear. I car accident.1:01:37My hearing's not good.1:01:38>> See, now old man, dude,1:01:39>> I remember when Jeremy and I's exes got1:01:41mad at us for uh National Girlfriend's1:01:43Day.1:01:44>> I didn't even know there was a National1:01:45Girlfriend's Day. What about the See,1:01:46now they're making up holidays to get1:01:48more holidays. [laughter] What? Where's1:01:50National I got nothing for National1:01:51Boyfriend Day.1:01:53>> Did you get anything? [clears throat]1:01:54>> No. Yeah. So, your boyfriend didn't get1:01:56you anything. [laughter]1:02:02[laughter]1:02:02>> I'm never gonna beat the allegations.1:02:07>> Dude, there was a comment. Somebody got1:02:08mad and was like, "You're you're call1:02:11yourself Pastor Johnny Chang, but you1:02:13made fun of my king, my lord, Jeremy."1:02:16Like, [laughter] literally,1:02:16>> who's this person? Slide in my DMs.1:02:18We're going to create a we're going to1:02:20create a group and we're going to go1:02:22>> mad. And then they they even brought up1:02:23the main stage. They were like, "We were1:02:25in their main stage, something about you1:02:26were crying or something crazy like1:02:28that." One of the mods brought it up to1:02:29me and was like,1:02:30>> "Yo, you you got to1:02:32>> cuz you clown me that much."1:02:33>> Yeah. And they were like, "You're so and1:02:35and now I understand now why Jeremy's so1:02:38mean to you." I was like, all I heard1:02:40was Jeremy so mean to you. I was like,1:02:41"Ah, now people know he's really mean,1:02:44guys."1:02:45>> I like this person. Hey, join in. I have1:02:48my own Discord. I'm going to amplify1:02:50your message. Yep. But that person was1:02:53pissed and I was like, "Dang." Out of1:02:55the whole episode, that's what you got.1:02:57Some of y'all legit legit though, some1:02:59of these people need to really You guys1:03:01really need to listen. I'm not trying to1:03:02disrespect you guys, but oh my goodness.1:03:05We're talking like an hour worth of1:03:07stuff and that's what you got out of it1:03:09is crazy to me. That that just proves to1:03:12me that you're mad. You don't like me.1:03:14And it that's just say that. I think it1:03:17would be so much better if someone sat1:03:18there and didn't try to justify why they1:03:20don't like you and just go, "I straight1:03:22up don't like you. I don't care about1:03:24you. I'm not going to listen to you1:03:26anymore. You're your main stages are1:03:27dumb."1:03:28>> Or or what would be better is1:03:29>> respect.1:03:30>> Or what would be better is just don't1:03:31listen. Take your time.1:03:32>> Oh, true.1:03:33>> Go out and volunteer. [laughter]1:03:35>> So true.1:03:36>> Yeah. Just like don't listen if it's1:03:37making you upset. Like don't listen.1:03:38>> Be the change you want to see.1:03:40>> She Who said that? Confucious. I'm1:03:43sorry.1:03:44>> Kanye.1:03:44>> Kanye. Yeah.1:03:46>> Confucious.1:03:47>> Highs and lows. That's a1:03:49>> So you're you're you're like bend over1:03:52backwards like anything your significant1:03:54other tells you to do.1:03:55>> I got this one, Johnny.1:03:57>> I was talking to you.1:03:58>> Yeah. [laughter]1:04:00>> Yeah. Yeah. I was like, "Yeah, of course1:04:02you do."1:04:03>> Um, see, for you this is a little bit of1:04:06a grace issue, but more so a faith1:04:08issue. And it's that1:04:10>> and it's that you don't have the faith1:04:12that your partner sees your love for not1:04:15only God's love for you but God's love1:04:16for her too. So you don't have the faith1:04:18in your partner that if you step back1:04:20and don't try to adjust God's timing and1:04:22you let things roll out through grace.1:04:24That's the grace part I was talking1:04:25about. Then you can actually let it1:04:26happen. If we were to touch a little bit1:04:28on perception, you don't have the1:04:30perception skills to adjust to why she1:04:32might feel upset. So, if you give1:04:33yourself the grace to kind of let her1:04:35want those holidays, then you don't have1:04:37to bend over backwards to give her1:04:38absolutely everything. You just have to1:04:39meet in the middle according to God's1:04:41will.1:04:42>> Dang, bro. Turn off the podcast.1:04:44>> I didn't understand that.1:04:45>> I understood it completely.1:04:47>> Explain it to me,1:04:48>> bro. Literally just karate chopped you.1:04:50>> Yeah. [laughter]1:04:51>> Like with the word of grace and1:04:54perception.1:04:55>> That's what a Pharisee would do.1:04:57[laughter]1:04:58>> Oh, but he brought he led it all to1:05:00grace. Dang. Oh, so if I just say Okay.1:05:02Okay. My turn. My turn.1:05:03>> Okay. Your turn. Your turn. Listen. Go1:05:05ahead. Your turn.1:05:06>> So if your partner has grace for you as1:05:09well, she would understand that maybe1:05:12the worldly things that in her mind1:05:14quote unquote make her happy is more of1:05:16a self-centered thing. And by having the1:05:19grace for each other, it wouldn't be1:05:21something that she needs so much in her1:05:23life.1:05:23>> Dang, that actually that was.1:05:25>> But if we tie IT INTO THE BEGINNING,1:05:28>> YEAH, IT'S you guys are sword fighters.1:05:29If we tie it into the beginning of the1:05:31episode, though, everyone has to be1:05:32aligned to the same goal. So, your goals1:05:34aren't right and her goals aren't right.1:05:36Celebrating the holiday is not important1:05:37and you not wanting to celebrate is not1:05:39important. The true goal that you're1:05:41both unaligned on is God's goal, which1:05:43you need to dive into your word to find1:05:44out what that is. But you think the same1:05:47thing, which is1:05:48>> I'm flipping through. I'm flipping1:05:49through. Don't see Valentine's Day or1:05:51National Whatever Day.1:05:52>> Oh, no. Now you're you're be Now you're1:05:54becoming a Pharisee. [laughter]1:05:55That's phariseical. Well, show me in the1:05:58Bible.1:05:58>> Oh, wait. Are you the judge? All right.1:06:00God loves me the same. Okay. As you and1:06:03me, same love, same love. You can't tell1:06:06me what I am. Only God can judge me.1:06:09>> Oh, bar. No, I'm just [laughter]1:06:10kidding.1:06:12Both of you were sitting there like1:06:14>> he's like clip that. Clip [laughter]1:06:15that.1:06:15>> Yeah. Both of you were sitting there1:06:16like exhausted like1:06:20only God can judge me is the worst1:06:22tattoo. If if I see a only God can judge1:06:25me tattoo, go get that removed. We will1:06:26fund it for you.1:06:28>> [laughter]1:06:28>> You just give all the wrong answers.1:06:30>> Jeremy, don't say that. People going to1:06:31get mad if they say that.1:06:32>> Okay. Okay. I'm sorry. [laughter]1:06:34>> Come on. Do you agree?1:06:35>> Someone watching with their only guy can1:06:36judge me tattoo is like,1:06:38>> "Screw these guys."1:06:39>> Yeah. Yeah. They're like, "That's why I1:06:40don't watch the podcast. That's why1:06:42[laughter]1:06:42>> 57 unsubscribes."1:06:44>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.1:06:46We know exactly. Okay. That was how many1:06:48God can judge me. Tattooers.1:06:50>> Okay. Here's the real advice. Yell at1:06:51your girlfriend. Say, "No, holidays are1:06:53stupid. [laughter] Don't do anything she1:06:54wants." That's the real answer.1:06:56>> Close your mind. No, but Aaron Aaron lo1:06:58Aaron is a a lover at the end of the1:07:00100%.1:07:01>> He's a great boyfriend.1:07:02>> Do you think Aaron Do you think it's1:07:04because you were brought up that way?1:07:06>> Like you think all your cuz your1:07:08families would get you right cuz I I1:07:10don't have every holiday.1:07:13>> I've been told that holidays are super1:07:15important and I've grown grown up1:07:16knowing that doesn't come so often. It's1:07:18maybe five or six times a year and it's1:07:20good benchmarks for life and you're1:07:22supposed to take note of when it happens1:07:23and just enjoy them. Like we my whole1:07:25family would get together for these1:07:27holidays and I know that's the few times1:07:28a year I get to see them. So it's been1:07:30>> see we but we don't I've never had that1:07:33like and that's why to me and being in1:07:35prison too you don't celebrate that.1:07:37People who do all day you guys can1:07:39attest to this. You're not if you got1:07:41life lap life without parole you're not1:07:43going to be like wow my 27th year behind1:07:45bars when I could have been out in in in1:07:47the streets. It's a depressing thing.1:07:49It's so level four level three yard1:07:51people know it is depressing as heck.1:07:54Yes.1:07:54>> But do you like it now when it's your1:07:56birthday?1:07:57>> I mean, honestly, still, no. Like, I1:07:59appreciate that you guys I accept your1:08:02guys' hearts. But let's say you didn't1:08:04get me anything and you didn't get me1:08:05anything. I'm not I wouldn't care.1:08:07>> That's fine. It's not It's not even1:08:08about like, do you like your birthday?1:08:11Are you enjoying the fact that it's your1:08:12birthday? Do you want to celebrate? For1:08:14us, it was always like an excuse to to1:08:16be with family. It's like, how many1:08:17excuses can we1:08:18>> There's like a deeper deeper meaning to1:08:20it. It's like I'm not at home1:08:21celebrating Halloween alone like in a1:08:23costume in my bedroom like I'm1:08:24Spider-Man. It's like the the [laughter]1:08:25point is those are the times of year you1:08:27get to be with your friends and do the1:08:28thing like I like Valentine's Day. It's1:08:30you're supposed to that's a that's an1:08:32excuse to spend a day with your loved1:08:34one.1:08:34>> All right, ladies. You heard that?1:08:36>> Yeah. Hey, [laughter] by the way. Yeah.1:08:37You guys want the peak boyfriend1:08:39experience? Aaron's right here.1:08:41>> Hey, Aon. [laughter]1:08:42>> Yeah.1:08:43>> Hey, Aaron the third.1:08:44>> Yeah. Aaron is do you have a type?1:08:47>> We're not getting into this on the1:08:48podcast.1:08:50>> [laughter]1:08:54>> I'm just kidding.1:08:56>> There's always truth. Yeah, there's1:08:57always truth in me.1:08:59>> Someone Someone got mad and I think1:09:00someone got mad because I made that1:09:02joke. They did. They did. And then they1:09:04said that I was good for being like,1:09:05"No, don't say that." [laughter] And now1:09:07>> what was the joke?1:09:08>> Cuz I was like something about1:09:11>> BBOs. Yeah. Like big booty Latinos or1:09:14something like that.1:09:14>> They got mad at you for that.1:09:16>> I was I was like, "Don't say that." And1:09:17they're like, "Aaron's the saint." I'm1:09:18like, "No. Now I'm saying it.1:09:20>> No, we're all cut from the same cloth.1:09:22Jokes. The lesson of the episode. God1:09:24loves us all equally.1:09:25>> Jeez.1:09:26>> Even you, you hater out there.1:09:28[laughter]1:09:30>> Even though I don't think God should1:09:32love you the same. I'm not the judge.1:09:33[laughter]1:09:34>> Yo, that's a level up. That God is real,1:09:37guys. That just put God is real.1:09:39>> Put that level up.1:09:40>> That is a level up, Jerome. What?1:09:42>> You would not you would know. You would1:09:44fight your your comments, bro. You fight1:09:46your comments. Dude, there's so many1:09:48times I have so many good zingers.1:09:49>> I just imagine Jeremy standing at1:09:51heaven's gates next to his most hateful1:09:54commenter. This guy, this guy, and we1:09:57get the same level of grace. This guy1:10:01would be like, "If it were up to me,1:10:02[laughter]1:10:03>> send him down."1:10:04>> For sure.1:10:05>> First of all, your shirt is hilarious. I1:10:07just got the shirt.1:10:09>> Firefest.1:10:10>> Okay,1:10:12>> this might be a little off topic here,1:10:14but God is all knowing. And let's say1:10:16you're Okay, let's think about it this1:10:18way. You see your little baby cousin1:10:21trying to do some task and he's doing it1:10:24so wrong and terribly and horribly and1:10:26you're just like, "Oh my god, at the end1:10:27of the day, I'm just going to have to1:10:29fix it all for him because he's just a1:10:31little kid and doesn't know what he's1:10:32doing and he did it all wrong." Right?1:10:34at the very end you're like, "Hey, you1:10:36did all wrong, but I'll fix it for you."1:10:38Is there not a possibility that there's1:10:40people that God is looking at right now1:10:42and they're serving him completely1:10:44wrong, but he's just like, "You're1:10:45taught you're still going to make it1:10:47into heaven."1:10:48>> Mhm.1:10:48>> Because it's like you did it so like ah1:10:50it's like you did it all so wrong and1:10:53like there was1:10:55>> you had Aaron's brain. You1:10:56[clears throat] know what I'm saying?1:10:57Like1:10:58>> everybody's serving God wrong though.1:11:00>> Yeah.1:11:00>> Like that's what you have to real I'm1:11:02serving God wrong. Do they make it to1:11:03heaven?1:11:03>> Yeah. If you if you have biblical1:11:06>> even legal1:11:06>> biblical salv Yes. Even legalistic1:11:09people if they have biblical salvation1:11:10>> and they believe Jesus died for them on1:11:12the cross but yet they were like1:11:14>> prayer warrior prayer warrior every day1:11:16I'm outside of you know1:11:17>> Yes. Yes. Because that's what grace is.1:11:19Grace is everything out of1:11:22>> I out of me. Right. I I don't I you you1:11:25exclude everything from me. Like there1:11:27are people that I know that that are1:11:29going against us. They came to God. They1:11:31received salvation. and they came to the1:11:32the the church that I'm at. They1:11:33received salvation and they're1:11:34completely going against us. Does that1:11:36mean that they're going to lose their1:11:37salvation because they went against us?1:11:39No. Do I want them to lose their1:11:41salvation because they [laughter] went1:11:42against us? Maybe maybe1:11:47better. But uh uh I'm not the judge. As1:11:51we know guys, God's love is God is love.1:11:54Like he understands that none of those1:11:56things surprise him. God knew that his1:11:58disciples would go against him. The only1:12:01reason why people go to hell is because1:12:02they don't understand what true1:12:04salvation is. And that's why Jesus hangs1:12:05on the cross. And he doesn't say,1:12:07"Father, forgive them because they went1:12:09against me. Father, forgive them because1:12:10they weren't obedient enough. Father,1:12:12forgive me because they didn't know the1:12:13church fathers and they weren't they1:12:14didn't choose the right religion.1:12:15Father, forgive them because they were1:12:17too legalistic." He goes, "Father,1:12:19forgive them for they do not know. They1:12:22don't know." And in the Bible, it says1:12:24people are destroyed for lack of1:12:26knowledge. And knowledge and wisdom in1:12:28the Bible is Jesus. So when people sit1:12:30there and they're like, I know what I1:12:33know and I know that I'm a good1:12:34Christian. Those people I would argue1:12:37are the ones that end up going to hell.1:12:38The ones who are like, I know I'm not a1:12:40good Christian. I need Jesus Christ and1:12:42I'm struggle with judging. Cuz some1:12:44people struggle with judgment. Right? I1:12:46think judgment is [clears throat] is a1:12:50is an addiction that churches don't talk1:12:52about. And why I say this is because1:12:55what do you do from an addiction? It1:12:57gives you some sense of pleasure. It1:13:00gives you something that, you know, some1:13:01sense of peace. It gives you some1:13:03something that feels good, right? An1:13:05addiction usually is is a rewards-based1:13:07thing. Well, people judge others to feel1:13:10higher than them, and that gives them a1:13:12high. Oh, yeah. See, I'm better. People1:13:15gossip. People judge because they feel1:13:17like that. So, I think one of the the1:13:18the scariest silent addictions that most1:13:21people are addicted to is judging. The1:13:23first thing they do and they reach for1:13:25is judgment. If you think about it,1:13:27right? An addiction causes you to reach1:13:29for something too, right? Judgment is1:13:32just you depending on yourself and uh1:13:35substance abuse or an addiction is you1:13:38depending on something else. They both1:13:40however turn you away from God. They1:13:42both make you not lean on God. They make1:13:45you lean on yourself or something else,1:13:47the substance or the addiction. And so1:13:49people don't [snorts] know that. I1:13:51[clears throat] genuinely believe that1:13:53judgment is the for most people it's1:13:55like the first response somebody does1:13:58something oh judgment comes right and1:14:00there's a difference between a judgment1:14:01and an observation because an1:14:03observation doesn't make you feel any1:14:04type of way you just observe it and you1:14:06clock it versus a judgment goes look at1:14:09that I knew it ah I'm so glad I'm1:14:11discerned oh my gosh I see them I1:14:14realized it this is an addiction 100%1:14:17and that's why people can't stop judging1:14:20sheesh Sh1:14:22>> that he's like, "No, no, no, no, no."1:14:26>> No, no, no, no. Sorry, sorry. That was1:14:27the That was the wrong sound. [laughter]1:14:30>> What is the sound that Aaron 2 always1:14:32makes?1:14:33>> He goes, "Mhm."1:14:34>> Mhm. That's the That was the right1:14:36sound.1:14:37>> He goes, "Mhm."1:14:38>> Mhm. So, so,1:14:40sorry, another silly little scenario.1:14:42Atheist. You get in an argument, not an1:14:44argument, a discussion with an atheist.1:14:46They're vehematly against God, but1:14:48somehow you're able to convince them,1:14:50right? And they believe, okay, Jesus1:14:51died for my sins. The guy exists. I1:14:53believe in that. But they don't go to1:14:55church afterwards. And they kind of1:14:57like, think about how many times that1:14:59even after you've become Christian,1:15:00you've doubted God, right? Or you've1:15:02doubted like, is the Bible truly real?1:15:04Like, if I die today, I'm going to go to1:15:06heaven. Have you ever had that thought?1:15:07I've had that thought. And let's say1:15:09it's but it's an atheist who doesn't1:15:11continue to go to church, doesn't listen1:15:12to this podcast anymore, doesn't really1:15:14surround themselves with any more1:15:15Christians or try to level up.1:15:16>> But they receive salvation.1:15:17>> But they receive salvation1:15:18>> and they're not atheists, right?1:15:21>> Well, yes. But they live their life the1:15:24exact same, but they're like,1:15:26>> then I don't think that's true1:15:27salvation. I'll explain why. You cannot1:15:29live your life the same.1:15:31>> You you experience transformation. It's1:15:34it's proven, Jeremy. We change even when1:15:36we don't want to because of salvation.1:15:38We sit there and go, "Oh my gosh, you're1:15:40not looking for grace at that episode1:15:42when we're sitting with George, but it1:15:44unlocks and you're like and it changes1:15:46your perspective." We're sitting there1:15:47and I'm talking to Debo, our1:15:48videographer, and we're speaking over1:15:50Korean barbecue and you're just like,1:15:52"Oh my gosh, that like unlock you you1:15:54can't help but change." Like when with1:15:56God, if you have true salvation,1:15:58transformation is a byproduct. So to go1:16:01nothing has ever changed, I would1:16:02question that salvation. That's that's1:16:04the God honest truth. Now, that's1:16:06subjective though because people will1:16:08sit there and go, "Well, Johnny, in my1:16:10opinion, I didn't change." That's your1:16:12opinion though, right? When you look at1:16:14it from God's word or other people's1:16:15perspective, and that's why it's not1:16:17good to confirm amongst yourself. If you1:16:19confirm your salvation amongst yourself,1:16:21you will always question your salvation1:16:22because you will be the judge. You will1:16:24think, "When I'm doing good, I'm saved.1:16:26When I'm not doing good, I'm not saved.1:16:28If I'm leveling up, I'm saved. If I'm1:16:30not leveling level leveling up, then I1:16:31backslid and I'm not saved." You have to1:16:33go to the word or at least to the pastor1:16:35who knows the word or somebody who knows1:16:36the word better than you to go, "Hey,1:16:38bro. I noticed a change inside of you."1:16:39You have to trust what other people are1:16:41saying above you. And and that's the1:16:43most important thing.1:16:45>> Bars.1:16:46All right. Well,1:16:47>> that's the end of this episode.1:16:49>> All right. That's the end of this1:16:50episode.1:16:51>> Download1:16:52>> download CH daily app, guys.1:16:54>> Core the heart daily app.1:16:55>> Core the heart daily app. And1:16:58>> what's it gonna what's it going to help1:17:00you do? It's going to help you make God1:17:03a habit in your life. You will1:17:05prioritize God. Even if it's 10, 151:17:08minutes a day, you guys will be1:17:09surprised. Starting with God for real,1:17:11just 10 or 15 minutes every single day,1:17:14starting your day with God and then also1:17:16ending your day with God. That's the1:17:17other hack. It's just so different.1:17:20You're It's literally like taking your1:17:22vitamin C spiritually. It's literally1:17:24like giving you just the boosties. It's1:17:26It's so amazing. And it's that's1:17:29literally what caused me to grow the way1:17:31that I did. Just consistent. It's just1:17:34like anything. Consistency is the most1:17:36important thing, right? You can be1:17:37talented. You can do we look at the NBA.1:17:40We see people who are extremely1:17:41talented, better than Kobe Bryant, yet1:17:43had no consistency, just relied on their1:17:45talent, would be like, "Practice,1:17:47practice,1:17:48>> consistency. Just come back every day."1:17:49>> So, it comes back to consistency and1:17:51just coming back every single day, guys.1:17:54Even just for a minute, you guys can1:17:56just open up the app and read the daily1:17:58devotion. By1:18:22the way,1:18:22>> when you're taking a dookie,1:18:24>> God,1:18:24>> then you really don't Hey, then God is1:18:26up there being like, "This guy don't1:18:28love me, but I still But he still loves1:18:30you." But still, he's sitting there like1:18:32making this face.1:18:33>> Yeah.1:18:34>> Also, for anyone still watching, these1:18:35are clearly video watchers in this1:18:37audience. Heavenly1:20:15Father, thank you so much that you1:20:16commanded your love towards us, which is1:20:19Jesus Christ, 2,000 years ago to die on1:20:21that cross, not because he was evil, but1:20:23because we were. And you said he was1:20:25delivered for our offenses and raised1:20:27again for our justification. Father God,1:20:29thank you so much that as we're in this1:20:31month of Resurrection Sunday, we're here1:20:34to to learn, Father God, about you and1:20:36grow in our wisdom. But more1:20:38importantly, Lord, please allow the1:20:39brothers and sisters to grow in their1:20:41surrender. Surrendering to the fact that1:20:43they need to love you, but rather to1:20:45know that you love them regardless if1:20:47they loved you or not. Lord, we are1:20:49people that truly cannot do anything uh1:20:52uh without your love. Father God,1:20:53without your provision, without your1:20:55grace, without your mercy, without your1:20:57faith. And for that, God, we're forever1:20:59thankful because you gave us your love,1:21:01your grace, your mercy forever and ever1:21:03and ever. And there's nothing that can1:21:05be uh that can change that that can take1:21:07it away, Father God. So, we're so1:21:09thankful. We leave everything in your1:21:10hands, Lord. And in Jesus name we pray.1:21:13Amen.1:21:14>> Amen.1:21:17Comment, subscribe.
