Interesting.0:16>> There's ways that people are celebrating0:17Easter in the correct man.0:19>> Okay.0:20>> Okay.0:22>> Yeah. In the Christian church, too.0:24Welcome to another episode on the0:25Unlearn Wisdom podcast with yours truly,0:28Johnny Chang. Pastor Johnny Chang.0:42>> Heck yeah.0:43>> Hey, are you still getting0:44[clears throat] used to that?0:45>> Yeah, I am.0:46>> That's weird. Minister Johnny Chang.0:48Good. Pastor Johnny Chang.0:50>> Still got to get used to what would make0:52you0:52>> finally being ordained though.0:53>> Yeah, but what would make you be like,0:55"Oh, yeah. I'm a pastor." Because you're0:56doing everything a pastor. I don't think0:58any of that ever. I think I just want1:00people to just be like Johnny Chen. Like1:02I don't want them to put that's even1:04when they would do minister I would be1:05like I would get the ick like I don't1:07like that. Just bro I'm just a human1:09being. Like we're literally the vessels.1:11Like who cares? You know what I mean?1:12It's like just preach the gospel. You1:14don't need1:14>> so humble.1:16>> That's why cuz of this guy right here.1:19>> Unlike you. You make everyone address1:21you by Mrs. Jeremy Kim. [laughter]1:24>> That's Lord Kim.1:25>> Lord Kim.1:25>> Oh, sorry. Deacon Kim. [laughter]1:29>> Wait, but but you so you don't like the1:31title at all?1:32>> Yeah, I don't like you. You prefer we1:33don't call you pastor.1:34>> I don't care. I mean, I understand why1:36you forced me to call you that.1:37>> I've never forced you. [laughter] I've1:39never forced you. You're a liar. I've1:41never forced you to do anything.1:43[laughter]1:44>> Laugh.1:46>> I couldn't keep a straight face.1:48>> We'll just be out to dinner. And he's1:49like, "Hey, Johnny." And Johnny's like,1:50"Hey, can I like talk to you after1:52this?"1:52>> Yeah, he did that to you, too.1:54>> You have to address me as pastor. I was1:55joking on.1:56>> Yo, you better stop. Some of these1:57people are legit going to be like,1:58"What? Johnny's horrible."2:00>> Be truthful.2:01>> Be truthful. [laughter]2:03>> Truth.2:04>> You know, I'm I'm sure we have to save2:05this to later part of the podcast, but I2:08just am so excited about the app.2:09>> I know. [laughter] I know.2:10>> Do we want to talk about it now or2:12>> It's coming later. We'll dive in later.2:14But listen, the app release is only2:16weeks away at this point. So, make sure2:17you get on the wait list.2:18>> It's out for them by by now.2:21>> Yeah.2:21>> Or it's out now. Either way, check2:22[laughter] the description. Check the2:24description.2:25>> Oh, wait. No,2:27>> you're right. It's still join the wait2:29list.2:29>> Join the weight list in the description.2:30[laughter]2:31>> True, cuz we're rolling it out. Okay,2:33but yeah. No. Uh, do you guys celebrate2:36Easter or have you guys ever celebrated2:38Easter before?2:38>> I know he has.2:40>> Definitely.2:40>> What What do you do on Easter?2:42>> Eggs.2:42>> We pagan witchcraft.2:46Cancel him.2:47>> Die the eggs. The Easter Bunny eggs. We2:50find them. There's candy. There's coins.2:52You get candy, you go to church.2:54>> But you did that from a what age?2:56>> Um like my whole life growing up. Maybe2:58until I was just like out of the house3:00or just too.3:00>> He's like maybe until like last year I3:02couldn't make it to the Easter egg hunt.3:04>> I already have plans this year for my3:05hunt. I'm [laughter] preparing. I've3:07been in the gym for the last 3 weeks.3:09You see me just like running over3:10toddlers. [laughter]3:12>> Get out of my way.3:14>> I leave with the biggest basket full of3:16eggs and they have nothing.3:17>> He's just robbing kids. [laughter]3:19>> That's what I remember as Easter.3:21[clears throat]3:21How when did you start?3:23>> My whole life. As as early as I can3:25remember as a tiny baby, there's3:26pictures of me doing Easter egg hunts.3:28>> That's wild.3:29>> Until probably like high school.3:30>> My parents never let me have fun at the3:32pagan holidays. It was always about They3:34hammered that every holiday is about GS.3:37>> Yep. Yep. Yep.3:37>> So, it was just straight church. And3:39sometimes at church they would have3:41Easter egg hunts where you'd open it up3:43and instead of candy was a Bible verse.3:45[laughter]3:45>> I'm like, it's3:46>> like a fortune cookie with a Bible3:48verse.3:48>> Yeah. Yeah. Basically,3:49>> no. Oh, they would sometimes put candy3:51in it.3:51>> That's good.3:51>> I would.3:52>> Okay. What kind of candies was it3:54though?3:54>> Like Hershey kisses.3:55>> Carrots.3:56>> Carrots.3:57>> Yeah. Yeah. Kimchi.3:58>> Kimchi. [laughter]3:59>> Bean sprouts.4:00>> You got no Easter. I actually got two4:02Easter cuz we would also do Greek4:04Easter.4:04>> Oh yeah. There's Yep.4:05>> Where you dye the eggs red.4:06>> Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. We've been super4:09cultured, bro. Unlike [laughter]4:11somebody.4:13>> My parents took that culture away from4:14me. I never I never knew I never got to4:17believe in Santa.4:18>> Yeah. I I actually had a I remember my4:21first Easter was in kindergarten and I4:23got suspended because of it.4:25>> Really?4:25>> I got into a fight, bro.4:27>> No. Wow.4:27>> Cuz I was, bro, I was a bad kid. I was4:30the kid who broke remote controllers if4:33I couldn't win in like Super Mario.4:35>> You know what I'm TALKING ABOUT? LIKE4:36THE4:37YOU know what I mean? Psychopath. I was4:39that type of kid, bro. Straight up. I4:40was a psychopathic, you know, kid. So4:42when when when they would find, you4:44know, you have to go and you have to4:45hunt. And I couldn't find it. So I would4:47be like, "Man, I ain't gonna work for4:49this, bro. I'mma just wait for this kid4:50to find him. I'mma jack him." Literally,4:52I was five years old. And I remember4:54just like pulling on this kid's hair and4:55like taking it from him. His name I4:57still remember his name. His name is4:58Dominic. Dominic, I'm sorry, bro. If5:00you're watching this, you know exactly5:01what I'm talking about, bro. I kicked5:02the soccer ball to your face and I5:04grabbed the thing and I straight I God5:06is my witness trying to5:07>> You know, Dominic saw a video of him.5:08He's like, "That guy's a fake."5:10>> Yeah, for sure. No fact. He was five. He5:11jacked me.5:12>> No figity facts. And literally I I would5:15just do that. And so like the teacher,5:17she was so mean to me. I mean, she5:19wasn't mean, but she was like, "You5:21don't do that." I remember her like5:23grabbing me by the back of my neck and I5:25was like, "Bro," I felt the wrath. I was5:26like, "Oh, snap." And she took me to the5:29to the principal's office and they5:31called my parents and man, it was bad,5:33bro. It was bad. But I No more after5:35that, no more Easter egg hunt for Johnny5:38Chang, bro. [laughter] I was literally5:39like I just had to sit like this while5:41everybody was just getting stuff. I like5:43man I felt hella salty but it was it was5:46crazy. I just would do that. I don't5:48know why I would fight man. I would5:49fight for like every little thing cuz I5:51couldn't emotionally regulate as a kid.5:53That was my Easter. So it was very like5:56traumatic for me. Yeah.5:58>> You couldn't find a single egg.6:00[laughter] That's the part of the story6:01I'm getting.6:02>> Anyway, so we want to get into some6:03Bible verses and the real meaning of it.6:05[laughter]6:06>> No, I couldn't, bro. I had I had so I6:09had zero patience. Oh,6:11>> I don't understand why as a kid I I6:13needed things right away.6:15>> Like we grew up in the project section6:178, but I always had some kind of way to6:20hustle money. If I stole from people, if6:22I charged a dollar for the Dunkaroos,6:25you guys remember Dunkaroos?6:26>> I would like if I had to steal from the6:28L man, whatever it was, I would always6:30try to have some kind of money on me.6:32Like I could never sit and just be like,6:34"No, I'm going to wait." I had no6:36patience whatsoever.6:37>> I just don't know why. My brother had6:39patience. Everyone around me had6:40patience. People would just be like,6:42"Oh, I'll just wait." I'm like, "What6:44the hell?" Wait would make me go n like6:46I would go nuts. And I just didn't6:47understand why I was like that. And my6:49mom told me that I was like that ever6:50since I was a kid.6:52>> Crazy.6:52>> Yeah. Like my mom would blow like like6:54soup cuz it's hot to like feed us,6:56right? There's like muook, right, which6:58is the seaweed soup. And so my mom would7:00be eating it and I'm I'm literally I7:03don't know a few months, right? And I'm7:05just like waiting and she's just blow7:07and I'm just fat. You know, you like7:08Michelin baby, right? Like little fat7:10like7:11>> rolls and stuff. And she would7:13>> be like blowing on it and my mom would7:15tell me that I would grab her face. I7:17would grab her hair. I would I would7:18think that she was eating the food. Like7:20I was just bad, bro. I don't know why I7:22was like that. Genuinely, I don't know.7:24And I would like fight kids and, you7:26know, I they would try to hug me and I7:27would like push them and punch them and7:29do all kinds of crazy stuff.7:31>> The crosswalk. It's like wait. He's like7:33square [laughter] up. Square up7:34>> and catch these hands7:35>> punching the pole. Wait. So when do you7:37think you I guess gain more patience cuz7:39knowing you now you you're a very7:41patient person.7:42>> Yeah. In prison for sure. When when they7:44tell you like you know lock it up and7:46you're like in you're programming you're7:48you got to program. You can't sit there7:50and and for the first year to two years7:52I couldn't program correctly. I was just7:54like man I can't I want to get out of7:55here. Like you know I knock on the door7:57like let me out. Like how come you guys7:59ain't let me out? Like I would go crazy8:00like that because I genuinely had no8:03patience. I couldn't wait for anything.8:05If you search up the dictionary for like8:08the word impulse, it's like me like8:10this. Like literally, I was just so8:12impulsive, bro. No matter what. And I8:14couldn't understand why. I I just needed8:16it. And I It felt like a callous. It8:18felt like, man, if I don't get it, I was8:21about to explode. Like my body would8:24manifest, bro. I would just like move8:25and I'm like, "Dang, what the slam8:28stuff, put a hole in the wall." Like I8:29was very, very emotionally unregulated.8:31>> Landlords hate this guy.8:32>> No, for sure. For sure. I got violated8:34on parole because of that basically for8:36putting like well I was on probation. I8:38was like as a kid, right? And I'm8:40putting stuff and they were like if you8:42do this you're literally going to go8:43back to prison like8:44>> putting holes in drywall get you back in8:46prison violating the lease and stuff8:48like that.8:49>> Literally. And I was like dang8:50>> damage the property.8:51>> Yeah. What uh8:53>> well so you kind of in a way got forced8:56to learn patience by like have to enroll8:58with the program and I'm like okay what9:00what applicable tips do you have for9:02people who I mean like the prison uh9:04experience that's like a very serious9:05>> yeah go to prison right9:07>> you have a lot of patience9:08>> it's not really like actionable advice I9:10guess9:11>> why not9:12>> what would be the fastest way to get9:13yourself into prison without [laughter]9:15without wait without like a life9:16sentence where you get a nice cool 59:18years9:18>> just just catch a fade in front of a cop9:20>> five years though that would No, not9:22fire. You won't get fired.9:23>> In prison, catch a fade with the cop.9:24>> Yeah, that'll get you like a cop.9:28>> Yeah, prison. Oh, if you want to get9:30like 18 months to like 24 months, just9:32carry a strap.9:33>> Just be like, "Oh, in front of a cop."9:36But you probably won't sm, you know,9:37you'll be like, "Drop the gun. You9:38better drop it cuz you'll smoke it." Say9:40>> it's a oneway ticket somewhere9:41[clears throat] else, actually.9:42>> Yeah.9:43>> Um, wait, but any real true advice for9:46>> Yeah. I think like, you know, you have9:49to think. So, I didn't have a mentor as9:51a kid. Obviously, I ran a muk. So, there9:54are people that you have to have in your9:56life who you have to listen to. And9:58there was a a Miss Sto, sixth grade10:01teacher. Shout out to you. Still10:02remember her. She was the only one that10:04said, "Johnny, I really care about you."10:07She She prefaced it with that, right? I10:09really care about you. The way that10:11you're living right now, you're going to10:12get into a lot of trouble, and it's not10:14good for you. And she she put it in a10:16way that made me understand because she10:18goes, "If me telling you to calm down10:21doesn't help me in any way." And I was10:2311 years old at that time. And I10:25understood what she was saying. I was10:26like, "Dang, that's kind of true." She's10:27like, "If you think about it, why am I10:29telling you to calm down? It's not going10:31to do anything for me, right? I could10:33just send you to the the principal's10:35office and not deal with you, but I'm10:37telling you like, please stop. I'm10:38pulling you to the side." She would pull10:40me out. So, I was a class clown, too.10:42you know, I would like always make jokes10:44and whatever. And she was like, I I care10:47about you. Why do you think I'm doing10:48that? And that was the first time I did10:50feel that breaking system in my heart to10:51be like, she's right. I was I was10:54stunned cuz I had a mouthpiece as a kid.10:57You're not going to out argue me, bro.10:59I'll find every little I talk about your11:01mom's mom. Like, I'm just I was bad,11:03bro. And so, she was like, I I genuinely11:06care about you. I don't want you to get11:08hurt. Where you're going to go, you're11:09going to end up in jail. Sure enough, a11:11year later, I get locked up. But it's11:13like she was the one till this day. I'm11:15like, man, she's a super super good like11:19impactful teacher to where I'm 36 years11:21old now. That's what 25 years ago. And I11:25can still remember what she said, how11:26she looked, how she cared. Obviously,11:29I'm older now and I didn't understand11:30her heart posture, but I understand it11:32now. like, "Oh my gosh, she was a a11:34genuinely good teacher." Where back then11:36teachers genuinely cared, you know, and11:38it wasn't like everyone siding with the11:40kid. A lot of parents nowadays be siding11:42with their kids. Man, my kid's perfect.11:43He did, Man, your kid ain't perfect. No11:45disrespect, okay? Cuz I was a kid. I see11:48the kids at church. They're super bad.11:50Isaiah, for example, Isaiah, he was11:52freaking three years old. He was11:54throwing rocks at Pastor Kim's car,11:56right? And like he grew up in the11:58church. That's Pastor John, my homeboy.12:00literally best friend, known him from,12:03you know, before he was even saved. And12:04like to sit there and and raise this12:07kid, so he I know that he's being raised12:09correctly. He's not even prek or12:11whatever. He's throwing rocks. As soon12:13as I see him, I'm like, "All right." He12:15threw one, two, three rocks. I go up to12:16him and I go, "Isaiah, do you know who12:20you're whose car you're throwing rocks12:21at?" And then he goes, "No." And I'm12:25like, "Do you know that you're throwing12:27rocks at pastor's car?" And he's like,12:29"No." And I was like, "Oh, you didn't12:30throw rocks?" He's like, "No, bro." has12:32a rock in his hand. He goes like this.12:34"No." I'm like, "Bro, you're 3 years12:36old. Who the hell taught you how to lie12:38like that?" Right? It's part of us12:39because sin is inside of our nature. You12:41don't teach kids how to lie. They just12:42naturally do it. And that's how I was as12:44a kid. Nobody taught me how to be crazy.12:46I was just crazy, you know? So, being12:48going back to the point of being patient12:50though, you have to have a mentor who's12:52sitting there and he's teaching you or12:54she's teaching you how to think about12:56things and think about other people. And12:58you have to come to with the heart of13:00like I care about you and let the kid13:03know that like whatever it is, not to13:06teach the lesson, but to go I care about13:07you. You're safe here. And then kids13:09just dropped their guard naturally. That13:11was so foreign to me that it felt so13:14weird when [clears throat] she was13:15saying that to me that I almost felt13:17like the ick. That's how I knew there13:19was something wrong with me, too. As I13:20got older, I was like when people would13:22tell me they care about me, I didn't13:23like that13:25>> cuz it was unpredictable, right? And it13:27was like, dang, I could be vulnerable13:28now. I don't like that. So, yeah,13:30[clears throat] it was crazy.13:31>> Dang. Yeah, I I feel that in a certain13:33way. Or like can't receive gifts or like13:35don't want anything from anyone or like13:38>> can't be like indebted or whatever. Even13:39if it's just through kindness. It's like13:41I don't want to even owe you my kindness13:42back sometimes. Just13:43>> low key, it's still like that for me13:45now. I think it's a permanent type of13:47PTSD where I don't want to like owe13:49people back stuff.13:50>> Like I'll do stuff for people, but I13:52don't ever want people to do certain13:54things for me. It's weird. And I'm not13:56good at like receiving gifts at all. I'm13:58just like I don't know. It's it's it14:00maybe it's something inside, but I'm14:01just like it it's it's definitely I14:05think just being vulnerable and feeling14:06like you have to owe somebody something14:08when you know you probably can't and14:10then people just using that up, you14:12know, to kind of hold it over your head.14:14That's happened to me in my life, too.14:15>> That's probably why also you don't like14:17it. [clears throat]14:17>> True.14:18>> Mhm.14:18>> Yeah.14:19>> Yeah.14:19>> What was I about to Oh, yeah. So, so the14:21key of it is really mentorship, but what14:24if someone doesn't have a mentor? Like14:26what if there was a what if there was a14:28call every Saturday or like what would14:30someone do if they wanted like a14:31mentorship? [laughter]14:33>> Well, that's why we created the group14:35mentorship class at Core of the Heart14:37where you could literally bring your14:39questions. I'll bring scripture. I'll14:41mentor you. Uh it is a group mentorship.14:43I've stopped doing one-on- ones, but14:46essentially it's it's you have all of14:48your questions answered. And it's really14:49cool because all these people that come14:51to our group mentorship, the one thing I14:53hear them say is, "Man, I came in here14:55and I wasn't really sure what questions14:57I was going to ask, but that sister14:59asked my question, that brother asked a15:01question, and I I'm literally going15:02through that. I just didn't know how to15:03articulate that." Right? Cuz not15:05everyone knows how to articulate what15:06they're feeling. And that's that's15:08normal, right? That's not to to make15:09people feel less than, but it's just15:11true. And so we have to realize that15:14sometimes going into these classes, it15:16will just it works out that way. So many15:18people, mountains of people are just15:20saying, "Yeah, I I'm so glad that it's I15:22upgraded." Because it genuinely helps15:24them in so many ways.15:25>> Yeah. And I feel like we never really15:27talk about it in the podcast, but just15:28randomly if there's podcast listeners15:30who don't [clears throat] know, Johnny15:31teaches a Bible class every single15:33Saturday at 10 a.m. PST where where he15:35goes through the Bible chapter by15:37chapter. I feel like, yeah, there's ads15:38banked into this podcast, but we never15:40actually talk about it. But true,15:42>> it's a good place to stay grounded.15:43>> True, guys. Consistency in God is the15:46most important thing. I mean,15:47>> I didn't get to where I was, you know,15:50just overnight. I literally spent 10, 1515:53minutes a day reading the Bible. I still15:55do it now, right? 10, 15 minutes15:57minimum. Sometimes I go like couple15:59hours. Um, but it just comes down to16:02showing up and meeting God every single16:04day in the scripture and praying and,16:07you know, fasting, things of that is all16:09important, but as long as you're doing16:10something to build a relationship with16:12God every day, that's the most important16:14thing. Guys, daily devotionals are back.16:18Every morning, I'll send you a16:19devotional that I personally write16:21rooted in scripture to help you with16:23your spiritual walk with God and make16:25the gospel a habit in your life. My hopes to help you16:37guys grow with your spiritual life each16:39and every day.16:40>> Okay,16:41>> so16:42getting to the topic at hand. This16:45episode again is about Easter. Um Easter16:48is what it's16:49>> Wait, so what was the story of the16:51Easter egg hunt? because we kind of16:52veered off of you were getting into the16:54topic and you brought up that story in16:55particular of how we celebrate it.16:57>> Yeah.16:57>> And then16:58>> so a lot of people celebrate Easter17:00incorrectly, right? And what I mean is17:02not only just the paganistic type of17:04rituals where people, you know, paint an17:06egg and then it's the bunny and all17:08that. Everyone understands or most17:10people understand that Easter is about17:12the resurrection, right? It's about17:13Jesus Christ resurrecting and freeing us17:17from our sins. But what a lot of people17:19don't understand is they think that it's17:20a one-day thing. You know, Easter from17:23the traditions of just how it was never17:26called Easter. It was recently like in17:28the 8th century was it called Easter?17:30Originally, it was called pashwa, right?17:33And that is like like Greek and Latin17:36for basically like spring, right? And so17:40Easter is always kind of like the the17:41the onset of like the new moon which17:44like rolls in the ushers in spring. And17:47a lot of people don't know this. So when17:49you when you when you think about17:52spring, it's it's basically like17:54resurrection time, right? Jesus17:56resurrects and gives us a brand new17:57life. Trees grow back, you know, uh the18:00the the the sun starts to come out more,18:03right? It's it's just it symbolizes a18:05new creation. So people celebrate Easter18:08one day out of the year or sometimes two18:10days out of the out of the year. But the18:12truth is it should be an everyday thing18:14because we are new creatures every18:16single day. God calls us to renew our18:18mind daily. Re uh Romans 12:2. And then18:21he tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that18:23we are a new creature. All the old ways18:25have passed. Behold, everything is made18:26new. He even says in Lamentations 3 that18:29every morning is made new because of the18:31mercy of God. So every day should be18:34celebrated as Easter. It's the same18:35thing as Shabbat, which is Sabbath.18:38People are like, "Oh, Sabbath is just a18:39Saturday." No, it's not. It's every18:41single day because when you meet Jesus18:43Christ, the true Sabbath, you rest all18:46days of your life because you have no18:48more sin. You literally took all of your18:50sin and he goes, "Those of you who are18:52heavy burden and laden sin, come unto me18:54and I shall give you rest." You're18:56supposed to rest on the Sabbath day. So18:58all these people fighting about Easter,19:00they're fighting about, you know,19:01Sabbath day and all these holy days and19:03all these communion days and all that,19:05they're missing the whole point, which19:06is Jesus Christ every single day. And so19:09that's why God says rejoice always,19:11right? Always be happy. Always be, you19:13know, joyful because he's given his son19:17for today and forever more. And so every19:20single day things are made new, but they19:22don't celebrate it correctly, right?19:23It's the same thing as like like I said,19:25Sabbath day, they just one day out of19:27the week, one day out of the week, one19:29day out of the week. If you treat every19:31single day like the Sabbath day, if you19:33treat every single day like Ash19:35Wednesday, if you treat every single day19:37like Easter, how do you think you're19:39going to live your life? It's going to19:40be way more upgraded. It's going to be19:42way more locked in, way more19:43disciplined, way more leveled up. I19:45mean, but people just, oh yeah, it's19:47it's amazing. Like, sure, do the do the19:50rituals that you guys want to do. That's19:51cool. I'm not going to shun you for19:52that.19:53>> But rather, I would say even if you're19:55doing it correctly one day out of the19:56year, it shouldn't be like that. It19:57should be every single day because it's19:59a dedication of your obedience in20:01alignment with God. Right? So that's20:03what I would say.20:04>> How are we supposed to think about20:06Easter year round? Like how how can I20:08actually wake up every morning and20:10celebrate Easter? I don't have that many20:12eggs to paint.20:13>> And then also [laughter]20:14and also like how do you rest every day20:16when you have things to do?20:17>> Yeah. So resting is not a a just a20:19physical rest, right? In Hebrews chapter20:214 it says enter into my rest. It means20:23through the the sin. So on Friday when20:26you're, you know, darkness entered the20:28world and then on Sunday you're20:30victorious over your sin. So every day20:33it's basically the gospel guys. It's, oh20:35wow, I wake up and I struggle every20:37single day. Sure, but I have somebody20:38who I can rest in and depend on which is20:40Jesus Christ, right? So that's how you20:42celebrated is every day you go wow.20:44Although I struggle, although I, you20:46know, don't read the Bible, although I20:48don't do this, that, and the third,20:49Jesus died for me. And we fight from20:51victory, not you know, for victory,20:53right? We keep the commandments because20:54we're saved, not to be saved. And that's20:57only made possible by Jesus. But people20:59don't see it like that. They they're21:01trying to compete almost. It's kind of21:03like a litmus test. They're always like,21:05"Look at me, God. Look at what I did21:06today." And like I'm presenting you21:08this. But that's not how it is. It21:10should be, "Look at me. I'm broken. I'm21:13messed up. And yet you still sent your21:15done your son to to die for me on the21:17cross and to purchase me with blood21:19basically. So you think I'm worthy even21:21though I feel unworthy." And that's what21:22you celebrate every single day.21:24>> Does it matter if you work seven days a21:26week then? It doesn't.21:27>> No, it doesn't. You can work seven days21:29a week if you want to, right? I mean, it21:31that doesn't matter. It's not a physical21:33thing. Like I said, it's a spiritual21:34rest. It's going I'm going to work. But21:37because there's there's a difference21:38between working out of gratitude and21:40working to survive. Most people work to21:42survive. There's this like why why do we21:44work, right? We're like, bro, God, thank21:47you for everything that you did. We want21:48to share this with everybody else. that21:50type of work is it comes from obedience21:52versus oh my gosh I'm working cuz like21:54God's going to strike me down if I don't21:56work well it's it's performative right21:58if you work in that type of way so you22:00can work you can even rest and be like22:03I'm only resting because God said 1022:05fourth commandment to keep the Sabbath22:06day holy but that's not really resting22:09you're sitting there yes you're not22:10doing anything but in your heart you22:11have no peace because you're sitting22:12there and it's a conditional thing it's22:14oh my gosh I'm going to go to hell if I22:16don't follow the commandments like22:17that's not truly rest either righting is22:19no matter what I do, God, you counted.22:22Everything is righteous and everything22:24is lawful, but not everything is22:25expedient. So, you don't count anything22:28against me. You've given me true22:29freedom. You sent Jesus Christ to die22:31for my sins. And on top of all of that,22:34I can again work from gratitude versus,22:37you know, I have to do this because then22:39I'll be a bad Christian if I don't do22:41this. And that's hella tiring. That's22:43hella tiring. Even if you rest like22:45that, that's super tiring cuz you're22:46sitting there going,22:47>> "Oh, I'm resting, but like22:49>> I got stuff to do, but no, no, don't22:51don't do that because like this is22:52against the word of God." And like, "No,22:54but yeah, but what about your mixed22:55linens that you're wearing? What about22:56the shrimp that you're eating? What22:57about the pork that you're eating?"22:58Like, you don't care about those things,23:00right? These little things that are23:01conditional, subjective, and relative to23:04the circumstance. You let that overpower23:06you, and you're only doing that. And I23:08was telling you about this today. We had23:09a conversation. And I was saying a lot23:10of people sit there and they go,23:12[clears throat]23:13you know, I'm only going to serve God23:15because like I'm going to preach the23:17gospel because I'm scared that when I23:19get in front of God, he's going to say,23:20you know, depart from me. So really,23:23foundationally, it's a it's a selfish23:24thing. You're not genuinely trying to23:26genuinely trying to save souls. The the23:28issue is you don't want to go to hell.23:29You're trying to save your soul. So then23:31you compensate that by saving other23:33souls, right? And in this way, it's23:35still conditional. It God's not going to23:36honor that type of heart posture. He23:38wants you to come with the heart posture23:40of I can't do it, but I'm doing it23:42because you did it for me and because23:44you did that and that makes you happy.23:45That's a different heart versus, oh23:48yeah, I'm going to sit here and I'm23:49going to show God and I'm going to like23:51make sure that I'm I'm I'm secure in my23:53salvation by helping other people's23:55salvation. Again, conditional and23:57selfish at the root foundationally.24:00>> But I save so many people.24:02>> Yeah, but there's only one savior.24:05How would you get somebody in that24:07position to see if that's them? Because24:10I think if I was in that position, I'd24:11be like, you're a heretic. You don't see24:13how much work I do in the church.24:15>> No, that's all you got to do is ask them24:16one question. All the work that you guys24:18do, if anybody feels some type of way, I24:20just have one question. Please listen to24:22me carefully. If you do all this work in24:24church, you tithe, you fast, you pray,24:27uh you're obedient, you keep the ten24:29commandments, you faith without works is24:31dead. Beautiful. I ask you one thing. If24:33Jesus Christ doesn't die on the cross,24:35can you get to heaven? If you do all of24:37those things and Jesus doesn't die for24:39you on the cross, can you get there? Of24:40course not.24:41>> No.24:42>> Exactly. So, what that means is your24:44works, of course, you do works, but it24:46flows from his blood. It flows from his24:48identity. The fact that you can even do24:50that is because he sent the comforter24:51Holy Spirit to do it. We're not supposed24:53to take credit for that. So, if you come24:55and you tell me right as in this24:57scenario, oh yeah, I did everything. I24:59did this. I'm obedient. I did that.25:00That's not necessarily true because even25:02though you're obedient in your way, we25:04still fall short cuz the Bible says in25:06Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and25:08come short of the glory of God." Romans25:093:10 says, "There is none righteous,25:11know not one." So, we're not righteous25:13and we fell short. That's okay. And God25:15wants us to realize when you do do25:17anything good, it's because of me. I I25:20made that possible for you. So, you got25:21to step out of that. And that's how we25:23remain humble, right? God created us out25:24of dirt. Dirt. He could have created us25:27out of diamond, gold, silver, all of25:29that, right? He created us out of dirt25:32specifically. Why? Because dirt,25:34although it's, you know, stepped on,25:35spat on, peed on, pooped on, it's the25:37lowest substance in the earth. When you25:39plant the seed inside of dirt, it25:40produces life. Right? In the same way,25:42they say God's word is the seed. When25:45you look at someone, you preach the25:46gospel and someone goes, "Did they25:48receive salvation? Did they receive the25:49word?" No. Well, at least what the seed25:52is planted. That's what they mean,25:53right? So the word of God, if we want to25:55accept the word of God, we can't sit25:56there and go, "Look at what I did, God."25:58We have to go, "Look, God, I didn't do25:59anything, but look at what you did26:00through me."26:01>> Okay?26:01>> Right?26:01>> Pause right there. There's a lot of26:03people that [snorts] feel that way.26:05They're not going, "Look at me." They26:06go, they're like, "Wow, uh,26:10>> I got to be part of all these people."26:12You know what I'm saying? Like it's a26:13very like26:13>> true26:14>> a hard line that they may may not see.26:16So,26:16>> but that's why it's a heart posture26:17thing, right? Everything.26:19>> What are you the judge of heart posture?26:20How do you know what heart posture?26:21>> Read scripture. Scripture will tell you26:22the heart posture. Jeremiah 17:9 is26:25super clear. It says the heart is26:26deceitful above all things, desperately26:28wicked. Who can know it? Means nobody26:30knows their heart posture. So that's why26:32God recorded the Bible because the Bible26:34is a mirror to your heart. Right? When26:36you read it, people are like Eve is so26:38stupid. No, you're Eve. We're Eve,26:40right? Oh, that King Nebuchadnezzar,26:42he's high-hearted. No, we're King26:43Nebuchadnezzar. We have different26:44seasons where our hearts are literally26:46like that. That's why I can read the26:47Bible 26 times and every single time26:50extract something different. It's not26:52that the Bible changed. It's that my26:53heart was changing, right? It was26:55flowing through seasons to go, "Oh my26:57gosh, it makes sense now." Just like26:58when your parents tell you at 5 years27:00old and you're 25 years old and you27:02realize the same thing. Your parents27:03didn't change anything. The same word27:05because your maturity changed. It caught27:07up. In the same way, our heart posture27:08is like that too with the Bible, right?27:10We sit there and we're like, "Dang, like27:12what does this mean?" But later your27:14heart gets to a position where God is27:16like through trials and tribulations.27:18It's that good soil where you can27:20receive the seed now and it produces27:21life. Right? In the same way you guys,27:24if you're thinking that way right now,27:26it's okay. That's a normal thing. But27:28you have to get to the position where27:30God is going to break it down and go,27:32"This is exactly what what Johnny was27:34talking about. This is what the servant27:35was talking about." And a lot of the27:37times pastor would do that. He would say27:39something and it's 10 years later and27:40I'm like, "Oh my gosh, that's what he27:42meant." Like I didn't understand it when27:43he was telling me to just go and preach27:45the gospel. I spent all my life running27:48away from prison. He's like, "Johnny, go27:50go go back to prison and preach the27:51gospel." What the hell? Are you out of27:52your mind? If I hear the walls, if I see27:55and these are prisons that I could go to27:57a New York prison that I've never been27:58to. I could go to like Chicago,28:00whatever. I'm going back to the prisons28:02I served at. Like I know the cos there.28:04I know all the homies there. I know28:06people doing life without parole. And28:07I'm sitting here and I'm like, "Dude,28:09they're going to call me a fraud.28:10They've seen me kick off riots. like28:12what are you talking about right now?28:13And so I get that like that feeling,28:15right? That urge of like I got to run28:17away. There's no way like I don't28:19understand. But when I look back at my28:21life now, I'm super thankful pastor28:24through that was cultivating me to be28:26able to speak in front of people. If28:28you're speaking in front of gangsters28:29and gang members who are straight up28:31killers, you're going to watch how you28:33speak. You're going to mind people.28:35You're going to learn to read the room.28:36here. All of these things are going to28:38help us when we speak to other people,28:40when we're talking on these main stages28:42and like being cautious of who we speak28:44about, how we speak things, you know,28:46all that. So all of this, he couldn't28:49explain it to me. And even if he did at28:50that time, all I was thinking about was28:52myself anyways. Surface level, I would28:54have been like, "No, I get that maybe28:56you think I would get famous, but I28:58never thought I would get famous and I28:59never thought that I would get to this29:00position." So he basically said, "Just29:03trust me." And if you trust me,29:05beautiful mentor as he is, when I29:07trusted him, everything leveled up. And29:10now I'm looking back at things and29:11going, "Man, I I I think I'm finally29:13start to understand how great of a29:16mentor I actually had." Like, it it it29:18took years before I would fight him. I29:20would argue with him. I would sit there29:21and go, "Bro, you don't know what you're29:22talking about. You never stepped a big29:24toe in in prison. You never stepped a29:26big toe in the streets. You ain't been29:27shot. You ain't been stabbed. You don't29:28have homies die in your arms. You don't29:30understand that. how you going to tell29:31me? But later I started to realize the29:33Bible knows everything. He don't need to29:35know me, but the Bible knows me and he29:36knows the Bible. And therefore, he knows29:39me because of that. And he knows right29:40away. This guy's empty. He knows right29:42away when I'm off. He just knows, bro.29:44He has like crazy discernment, right?29:46You you you've seen it, Jeremy. Like,29:47you see him and you're just like,29:48"Dang." He puts it [clears throat] in a29:49way that makes sense, you know?29:51>> So, again, it's it's not that Pastor Kim29:54is amazing and it's not that I'm idol29:55worshiping him. It's just that when29:57people sit there and they study the29:58Bible and they really study the Bible,30:00there's a difference between somebody30:02versus who studies the Bible and someone30:05who just like sits there to kind of talk30:07about themselves and like boost30:08themselves up and sprinkle in a little30:10bit of like the word, right? There's30:12it's just different. It's different,30:13guys. You know, we're [snorts] hiring,30:16guys. Core of the Heart is hiring. But30:18listen carefully. We're not just30:19building a company. We're building one30:21of the fastest growing Christian30:22communities in the world. In just a year30:24and a half, this community has grown to30:26over three million strong, and we're30:28nowhere near done.30:29>> Our mission is simple, but massive, to30:30build the best tools and resources to30:32help anyone in the world get closer to30:34God.30:34>> Our first immediate goal is to get a 10030:36million people into heaven. So, when we30:38say we're hiring, understand this. We're30:40not looking for employees. We're looking30:42for missiondriven A players that want to30:44change the world.30:44>> Our criteria is simple. Don't show us30:46what you could do. Show us what you've30:48already mastered. Like, if you want to30:49be the short form editor, show me the30:51millions of views you've gotten on short30:52form. If you want to be the podcast30:54producer, show me the shows that you've30:55successfully produced. We've learned the30:57hard way not to hire off potential. We30:59just want to hire off of peer31:00experience. People who have already31:01proven that they can perform at their31:03skill set at the highest level. We have31:05jobs available in many different31:06departments, media and content, live31:09events, and marketing. We also have31:10remote jobs and LA based jobs available.31:13If you're an A player that has mastered31:14their craft and wants to do something31:16that glorifies God, then please head to31:18the link in our description and check31:19out the job board. And lastly, if you're31:21an absolute beast at something and you31:23don't see it on the job board, please31:24reach out. I mean, you know, you might31:26be able to do it for us. It might work31:27out. So, if you're amazing at something,31:28you don't see the perfect job31:30description, just reach out. Tell us31:31what you're good at. Maybe it'll work.31:32>> Genuinely, I can't do this without a31:34team. So, I'm very thankful for anyone31:36who supports the mission. I look forward31:37to hearing from you guys.31:39>> The last topic was people are31:41celebrating Rang and it's rest all the31:42time.31:43>> Yeah.31:44>> Why do churches make such a big emphasis31:46that this is the day that Jesus31:47resurrected? It's obviously a very31:49significant part in history. I'm not31:52saying that that's not important, but31:53it's like31:54>> heavy heavy emphasis of resurrection31:57Sunday. And is it just a simple31:59reminder? And is that necessarily a32:01wrong thing?32:01>> No, it's not a wrong thing. I think it's32:03it's good to remind us of that. But like32:05I said, I think churches should teach it32:07more like in depth, right? So when you32:10look at like the council of Nikea, they32:12basically coined this day, you know, and32:15it and it changes every year uh because32:17it it it goes with like the seasons,32:19right? So um they they're very they're32:23very deep on like church history, which32:25you know when you look at Easter, it's32:27like estray or ostray, right? Which is32:30the actual word for Easter. And32:32essentially32:34they were able to kind of p not pinpoint32:37but just choose a day like similar to32:39Christmas. This is the day that we're32:41going to choose to celebrate it. Right?32:43With that being said, like I agree with32:44that you should. But if you really know32:46the gospel, every single person in the32:49Bible celebrated Easter like that where32:51every single day was their last day.32:53They preached the gospel to everybody32:55and anybody that they ever met. And it32:57wasn't in like a way that they were32:58imposing on people. They were like33:01inviting conversation. They were sharing33:03their testimony. They were preaching and33:05just healing people and helping people33:07and gaining people's hearts. You should33:09be doing that every single day. Um, but33:12of course there has to be an emphasis on33:13one day because Good Friday is the cost33:16of sin and then Sunday is resurrection33:18Sunday where you overcome and you defeat33:21and now you have a new life because33:22you're more than conquerors. You33:23overcame with Jesus, too. And yes, you33:26should think about that every single33:27day. That's what helps me move every33:29single day is to go, dang. I'm a person33:31who like recently I'll tell it happened33:34yesterday. I got stuck in an airport for33:37hours. It was Oh, it's funny. That's33:40funny, buddy. I wasn't telling a joke.33:42>> It's happened to me, too.33:43>> Yeah, that's true. So, I'm sitting there33:46and, you know, 550 rolls by. The flight33:49is at, you know, it boards at 5:50. No,33:52it boards at 5:15.33:545:00 rolls by.33:57you know, you could see like the33:58airplane coming in. It doesn't dock. I'm34:00like, "Okay, whatever." Thunderstorm,34:02boom, boom. I'm like, "Oh my gosh, I34:04think we're going to get delayed." And34:06so on the on the mic, the guy goes, "For34:09every thunder, every lightning strike,34:10it delays 30 minutes." And I'm like,34:12"What?" I heard like four since you said34:14that, right? I'm like, "Oh, hell no."34:16So, I'm sitting there and, you know,34:19sure enough, we get there, it's34:2311:00 now. It's delayed all the way to34:2611, 6 hours later. And I'm like, "All34:28right, my patience is kind of running34:29thin, right?" I'm like, "Okay, God." And34:32I pray, "Father God, if it's your will,34:33please allow this to go." And so, sure34:36enough, right, they open up. All right,34:39guys. Like, yeah, we're going to board34:40now. Boom. We get in, we board.34:44An hour goes by, two hours goes by, and34:46then he gets on the thing. Oh, hello,34:48everybody. You know, like he's like on34:49the the the pilot, and he goes, "Sorry34:51to add insult to injuries." Verbatim.34:53Sorry to add insult to injury, but we're34:55going to have to deplane, right? Because34:58it's just not letting up and there's35:00someone with a medical emergency and35:02we're we're in line. We're in line and35:04there we're we're 15th in line. We were35:0610 minutes away and sometimes I'm like,35:08"Bro, sometimes just don't share that35:09information."35:10>> Yeah. Let the person die. I [laughter]35:11feel that way. Oh, that's not what you35:13were thinking.35:13>> No, that's not what I was thinking.35:14>> I'm like, "How bad is the medical35:16emergency? It must not be that bad that35:18it didn't happen to you an hour ago."35:2030. Oh, it so happened that 2 hours in35:22you suddenly have a medical emergency.35:24>> Prove it. That's [laughter] what I like.35:26Prove it.35:27>> It's like some lady like, "How?"35:28>> Yeah. I'd be like, "Whatever. We're35:30overpop populated. [laughter]35:31How old are you? Your children are way35:33old enough to take care of themselves."35:35>> Bro, you're crazy. So So I sit there and35:37I'm obviously getting Now I'm getting35:39frustrated. People next to me, I'm not35:42trying to be mean, but this guy next to35:44me had hot breath. Bro had like35:47helltosis right35:49>> on everything. Bro was sitting there and35:51he kept sighing. So I'm like, "Bro, stop35:53sighing cuz you're about to kill me35:54right now." Bro was French ovening me,35:56right? He's like, and I'm just35:58[laughter] like,36:01"No, I'm serious." I'm sitting here and36:03I'm just like,36:04>> "Oh my god."36:05>> I'll take one more of those. He's like,36:07"Ah." And he like leans over at me like36:09a36:11>> I have a medical emergency.36:12>> Literally. And I sit there and I I'm I'm36:15not trying to be mean, but it's so bad36:16that I have to go like this, right? And36:18I'm just sitting there and I'm like36:19playing on my phone and he does it36:21again. And this is how you know it's bad36:23because even though I'm like this and he36:24does it, I could still smell it. That36:26thing was like fireproof, bro. It like36:28went through fabric and everything,36:30right? [laughter]36:31So I'm sitting here and I'm like, "All36:33right, now you got Mr. Heltosis here,36:36right, Mr. 100 Cavities, [laughter]36:40Mr. Permanent Morning Breath." And I'm36:42over here like, "Yo, okay. I'm I'm I'm36:45like, God, what's going on?" on, right?36:48I pray to God again. Father God,36:50genuinely, I I I came here to serve the36:52gospel. Um, I'm not really sure, you36:55know, what I'm trying to learn from36:56this. If it's just patience, okay,36:59please cultivate that inside of my37:00heart. Like, I'm not telling you to move37:02the plane, but please align me with your37:04will, right? Cuz I just don't be like,37:06"Fix this, fix that." I sit there and37:08[clears throat]37:09sure enough, they're like, "We got good37:11news, guys. You know, once they deplain37:14this person, you guys don't have to37:15deplain. it's okay, blah blah blah. And37:18then again, we sit for another two37:20hours. That's when I texted you guys and37:21I was like, "Bro, it's like we're I'm37:23going to stay here forever, right? We37:25sit for another two hours and they're37:27like, "We're so sorry. We had to refuel.37:28We had to do this. Air traffic control37:30was telling us that we have to wait."37:31Blah, blah, blah. Finally, we get there37:33and we take off. But the whole time I37:37was fuming inside, to be honest, I was37:39like, "Yo." And and and you know, I37:42understand middle seat etiquette. I'm37:44seat. But bro, he's got like ham hocks,37:47right? Like just big old like ham hocks.37:50And he just kept like leaning on my arm,37:52bro. And I'm just like looking at him37:54like, "Dang. So you got stinky breath37:56and you're inconsiderate." Like, "Come37:58on, bro." And I and I I I like barely38:01put put my elbow on there just a little38:03bit. And bro is still like pushing me38:06off, right?38:07>> And I'm like, "Oh my gosh." All right.38:09And so [laughter] and every like 1038:12minutes, bro would fall asleep for a38:14second, right? He It's like a big baby38:16just sighing, falling asleep, you know,38:19got to check his diap, right?38:22>> So when he would fall asleep, he'd do38:24this like that. So he would keep pushing38:27on to me, right? And I'm like, "Dang,38:28bro. I I can't make this up. I'm38:30serious." And I'm like, "Okay, I'm38:33getting tested. I don't know why, right?38:36I'm over here preaching the gospel,38:37helping pastor, and I'm like, "Okay."38:40But immediately I thought about it. I38:42sat there and I was like, just38:4610 years ago, where was I at? And I was38:49like, dang, I was in prison. Could I38:52even travel? Absolutely not. Could I38:54even do any of the Could I even hit the38:56tarmac? Could I even check in? Could I38:59even, you know what I mean, without39:00going to secondary? Could I even do any39:01of those things? Absolutely not. the39:04fact that it's okay now and everything's39:05been good. I've I I just realized like,39:08dude, my my mindset is kind of off,39:11right? It's like, yes, it's not like39:13every single day and every single time I39:15go there, we get delayed. It's happened39:16a few times. Yes. But I could either see39:19the cup as half empty or half full. And39:22so, in that way, I just prayed to God. I39:25was like like thank you prayers. Father39:26God, thank you. Um I understand, you39:30know, that I'm not going to understand39:31what's going on right now. I don't know39:33if this is the lesson, but I I am39:35appreciative that regardless of what it39:37is, you're allowing me to get home.39:39You're allowing me to, you know,39:41whatever your you're it could be that39:44maybe maybe this jet engine is going to39:46fail. Whatever it is, like I don't know,39:48but I do trust you, God, no matter what.39:50And the one thing I realized was Satan39:52continuously attacked me by telling me,39:55"Look at you. You're not you didn't do39:57something right. See, like, oh, you're39:59still getting mad. It's been 10 years.40:00You teach other people about patience.40:02you're not patient. He's just coming in40:04with the condemnation. And so he he was40:07like trying his best to get me to not40:09trust in God. And just like I was40:11telling him like, "Shut up." And he40:13wouldn't shut up. I recognize something.40:16Just like I can't tell Satan and stop40:18Satan from planting intrusive thoughts.40:21I also realized on the other end that40:23Satan couldn't stop me from like40:25trusting God, right? He wanted me to He40:28wanted to stop me from trusting God, but40:30I was like, I don't you can't stop me. I40:32can't stop you, but you can't stop me40:33either, right? In terms of trusting God.40:35And so with that, I felt hella peace.40:37And And no lie, like 20 minutes after40:40that, we took off. And I was like,40:41"Wow." Like it's a it's a beautiful40:43thing. And I and I saw myself cuz before40:45I went from just like what I told you,40:48>> impulsive, frustrated, you know, put my40:50hand through the ceiling like fight40:51anybody, whatever. And I'm over here40:53like40:55now just going, "All right." I mean,40:57God, if if that's what you want, that's40:59what it is. If I get locked up, if I get41:01smoked, like it's just this hard posture41:03of like, okay, you know, you you take41:06care of it because you sacrificed for41:08me, you died for me, you live for me,41:10you do everything for me. So, what am I41:13what am I tripping about?41:14>> I thought you were going to say, and41:15then at that moment, the guy was like, I41:17need to brush my teeth. And he like got41:19up and brushed his teeth.41:20>> And at that moment, he popped a mint.41:21>> Yeah. And I was like, "Yes."41:24>> Did you not have gum on you? You41:26>> I I'm not I didn't have gum on me. No, I41:29didn't have gum on me. Dude, I wish.41:31Bro, that thing is not going to That gum41:33is not going to help, bro. Like he needs41:35He got like tonsil stones41:37>> or something like there. It was bad. It41:39was like And and I get it. It's one of41:41those like stress when you're internally41:44like angry and then it's like that hot41:46breath. He was mad. Bro was pissed. And41:48he he was like a thug. Like he was he41:50was tatted down too. and he was just41:52like a bigger dude and he was like41:54frustrated. I could just tell and all of41:56us were. There was like a Karen in the41:58back too. She's like, "This is41:59ridiculous."42:01>> And I'm just like, "It is ridiculous."42:02Sh. She's like, "I need to speak to the42:04manager."42:05>> And like the pilot was literally got on42:07and was like, "I'm so frustrated, too,42:09guys. I literally I don't have" And he's42:11right. He's like, "I don't have42:13control." And when you texted what you42:15texted, bro,42:15>> what did I say?42:16>> I was You were like, "Do they know how42:18storms and hurricanes work? that you42:20just fly around in. [laughter]42:22>> I was like, "Oh my god."42:24>> So, you're the pilot. Pull to the left,42:25take off, and you know, avoid the big42:28swirly wet thing. [laughter]42:30>> The thing that looks scary,42:31>> bro. When you said that, I had to go42:34into more spiritual warfare. I was like,42:36"It's so true." [laughter] I was like,42:38"Dang, just fly around it." But yeah, it42:40was it was I don't know. It was crazy.42:43But it just it was a good learning42:44experience here,42:45>> guys. If there's anybody out there that42:47is like maybe you fly a private jet and42:49you want to just help us out, you know,42:52you want to just get volunteer hours,42:54you want to write tax write off, I'm42:56sure there's somebody out there that42:57listens to the unis.42:59>> You want a nice place in prison? I mean,43:01in heaven.43:01>> Yeah. [laughter] Yeah. Prison. What are43:03you threatening? If you ever want to let43:05us use your private jet, we would gladly43:07take it.43:09[laughter]43:09>> You don't get what you don't ask for.43:10Maybe there's somebody You guys are43:12looking at me like I'm crazy. Why are43:13you guys all looking at me like I'm just43:14laughing that you're dead serious right43:16now.43:16>> That's what I'm saying. Bro is dead43:18serious going to be checking his DMs for43:20the next 5 days like hoping some43:22>> Yo, Jeremy does not represent Core of43:24the Heart. Okay.43:25>> Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Okay, so you're43:26telling me, Hold up. So, you're telling43:28me some guy who's like, you know, some43:30billionaire Christian guy is like, you43:32know what? I don't fly my private jet43:35that often. I'd let Johnny and his team43:36use it and offers it to us. You call me,43:39you'd be like, I don't you guys would43:41not take his offer on it. I just think43:42that it's so so so unlikely and I'm just43:46giggling that you're sitting.43:47>> You know what's unlikely? Him getting43:49out of prison and then becoming a pastor43:50and then [laughter]43:51hitting 4.5. You know what I'm saying?43:53That's unlikely to me. I mean that's43:54true story. He should have been dead.43:56>> All right. Well,43:57>> how do you know you're not a fortune43:58teller?43:59>> Yeah, I've heard your story, man. I44:01can't wait till you prove us wrong.44:03>> For now, just treat every day like44:04Easter. Okay. [laughter]44:06>> Exactly. But but for real though, like44:08if it got offered,44:09>> I mean, if they did, yeah, obviously we44:11would, you know, we would take a take a44:14look at his face.44:15>> Who's out there? [laughter]44:18>> Because they're, you know,44:19>> PJ Johnny.44:21>> Yeah.44:21>> They'd be like, "Bro, he's a heretic."44:24>> Not if it's donated.44:25>> Yeah, true. That is true. Donate a44:27Lambo, too, by the way. I'm just44:29kidding.44:30>> You're pushing asking for things like44:33it's Easter. Get in the Easter spirit.44:35>> No. No. I've never asked for those44:37things cuz number one, who needs a yacht44:38to get around?44:39>> J's like, "There must be someone super44:40rich. How would you just give us the44:42jet?" [laughter] I mean, there's got to44:43be someone.44:44>> Maybe it's a G800.44:46>> Roll the tape. I've never said that.44:48That never came out of my mouth. So,44:49>> you think there's a billionaire out44:51there who spends all of his time44:52listening to this podcast. He's like,44:54"Hm, you know what? I shall give Jeremy44:56my my G800."44:58>> Yeah. Why? Why not? [laughter]45:00>> You don't get what you don't ask for.45:02>> Anyway, well, check your DMs every day.45:04It's coming.45:04>> True. No, but here's the thing, right?45:06If you fly in a private jet, those are45:09the ones that crash the most.45:10>> That's a fake news.45:12>> That's not true, dude.45:13>> Fake news. Fake news.45:15>> If that was If that was the thing, then45:16you would hear every other week, oh, we45:18lost this other athlete. We lost this45:20billionaire. We lost No. What? What? Who45:22do we lose in the last round?45:23>> Travis Barker was literally like45:25survived. I45:27>> was burned like six years ago.45:28>> Head to toe. And then dude, when they45:30all always always though when they do45:32the report and they look at the black45:34box, it was like seven things got45:35missed. Oh, the pilot like flew for 345:38days and didn't take his rest day. Oh,45:40the like the engineer like used like the45:42wrong gap. It's like there's all these45:44things that lead up to it. You don't45:45think45:46>> you trust your pilot though?45:48>> Yeah. You don't think that I Hey, you45:49know how Johnny's like, "You don't check45:51the engine or the wheels when you fly45:52[laughter] a plane.45:54>> This guy will for you guys. I will check45:56those things." Hey.45:57>> Okay. I'm convinced. [laughter]45:58>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.45:59>> It's like that's all it took. I'm46:00>> okay. Let me down there. I'll be like46:02twisting the the tire and like knocking46:04on it.46:05>> Like46:06>> they're dangerous, man.46:08>> They're not dangerous. You have more46:10chances of getting eaten by a great46:12white shark than getting in a like a46:13private plane crash.46:15>> True.46:15>> Well, I don't go near sharks or private46:17planes, so my odds are pretty low.46:18>> That's fine. If somebody volunteers and46:20donates their jet for us to use, Aaron46:22can fly commercial and wait in Florida.46:23[laughter]46:24No, you can wait in Florida. And when46:26that happens, we're gonna go, "All46:26right, Erin, you stay here. You enjoy46:29this. We'll we'll we're gonna get We're46:30gonna go home.46:32>> You're gonna change your tune46:33ultimately."46:33>> Yeah, that's true.46:34>> Does anyone have a submarine we could46:36borrow? I really [laughter] wanted to46:37see the Titanic.46:40>> It's not that ridiculous. It's cheaper46:42than the jet. So,46:43>> I don't know why you're looking at me46:44like I'm crazy.46:45>> No. Get in the submarine. How does the46:47submarine get from We'll see you back in46:49LA in46:50>> 3 months.46:51>> I just want to visit the Titanic. It's46:52not about travel. Oh, see46:53>> if anyone has a submarine.46:55>> Selfish reason. Not going to happen.46:57>> Yo, do you still think there's dead46:59bodies like in Titan? Like like dead47:03skeletons trying to47:04>> dead skeletons? Probably47:05>> skeletons.47:06>> I think fish and stuff eat the bodies.47:08>> Dang, that's crazy, bro.47:10>> It's been a long time now.47:11>> Do you guys know the conspiracy about47:12the Titanic?47:13>> No.47:14>> What is it?47:14>> What is it?47:15>> Basically, uh there's levels to this47:18conspiracy. So the the major one is when47:21they were trying to create the c the47:23federal bank.47:24>> I forgot it was like yeah people that47:26were against the people trying to create47:28like a unified bank and then they sunk47:30that and the people that were supposed47:31to be on it47:32>> decided not to get on that that ship47:35>> and they just they basically just like47:36wiped out all their ops in one boat47:38crash. The other level of the conspiracy47:40is that it was a different boat.47:42>> It's like a completely different boat.47:44>> I saw that one too.47:45>> Yeah. So,47:46>> and I believe47:47>> I think a lot of information is always47:49lost to time like and people just don't47:52know and they hear things and whether47:53it's a conspiracy or real, but like47:54there's no like there's not a lot of47:56proof of a lot of things. Like I was47:58watching this guy who who does like he48:00he's like a historian of old commercials48:02in the '90s and you just can't find48:04stuff stuff that ran every single day48:05for 10 years and no one saves it.48:07There's no record because unless you48:10very intentionally save something to be48:12to last a hundred years, it just gets48:14lost in time. Like even our old Google,48:16my old Google drives, even from years48:17ago, it's like stuff just disappears.48:19>> Aaron's going aliens are going to love48:21when they find Aaron's phone. Every48:24single screenshot saved, every file,48:26they're going to be like, "Wow, hey, we48:28thought we didn't have all the history48:30of time, but we have this guy's48:32>> I lost my phone last weekend, and it was48:34like it was like the second burning of48:36the Library of Alexandria. [laughter]48:38>> Like so much history just lost."48:42>> Um, it was funny. [laughter]48:44I'm just kidding. Luckily, I have a48:46backup. Everyone back up your iPhone.48:48>> Carbon footprint is literally like a48:50small country's48:52>> Aaron himself.48:53>> Speaking of of conspiracies, like it48:56kind of made me think there's a lot of48:58people that go down rabbit holes even48:59when it comes to like like Christianity49:02that they just get lost in the sauce,49:04bro. Like so many people come to me and49:07I'll see how smart they are. They're49:08super intelligent, but they'll dig and49:10dig and dig. Hey Johnny, what do you49:12think about the book of Enoch? And what49:13do you think about the49:14>> Right. Right. Right. They'll be like the49:15book of Enoch and you know there's49:17actually three books and there's49:18Anunnaki and49:19>> have you read the book of Enoch? So you49:21have So you were one of those guys?49:23>> Of course I was that tinfoil Johnny.49:25>> 100% bro.49:28>> What was one of the crazier discoveries49:31when you went down the rabbit hole?49:32You're like what?49:33>> I mean it's all demonic. That's the49:34craziest thing was overarching when you49:37look at the book of Enoch. First and49:39foremost, the person who wrote the book49:40of Enoch is not Enoch. He was a false49:42scribe and he was in he was kind of49:44impersonating Enoch in this way. And so49:47there was a lot of debate about that.49:49>> What do you mean impersonating versus49:50back then someone's like hearing49:52somebody talk and recording?49:53>> Well, yeah, that's what he was saying,49:54but it wasn't true. He was saying Enoch49:56told me all of these things, but it's49:57not true. Right. And there's three49:59books. It's first Enoch, second, and50:00there's Mcabes, and there's all these50:02different books, right? That's called50:03the Apac Apocrya or Apocrypha. You've50:06read them all. Yes. And that stuff is50:08like it's crazy, bro. It's crazy.50:11There's things about Mary. There's all50:12kinds of different things, right? And so50:14when you when you when you look at50:16specifically the book of Enoch, right,50:18this is people love this type of stuff.50:19I never really share the information,50:21but it talks about the fallen angels50:22coming down sleeping. It talks about50:24Anunnaki. It talks about Nephilim. It50:26talks about how they were created. It50:28talks about how Samson was a Nephilim50:30and he had four other brothers. And50:31that's why King David had, you know,50:33five rocks. And it's all this stuff,50:35right? It's it's partially biblical. And50:38that's the thing about Satan is he'll50:39give you these halftruths and then the50:41[clears throat] other stuff he'll let50:42you kind of just wander, right? And so50:45it says in the Bible in 1 Corinthians50:4613, knowledge puffth up. So it makes you50:49puffed, but then just like anything50:51that's inflated, sooner or later it it's50:53got to be deflated and it just it comes50:55back to nothing. That's why Paul is50:58gangster. Paul wrote the most books in51:00the Bible, 14 epistles to his name. his51:03apostles and his disciples wrote books.51:06Titus, you know, as as goatated as John51:08is, no disrespect, he had Polycarp.51:10Polycarp did not have a book. Now, Paul51:13had Timothy, he had Titus, he had all51:14these people that made it into the51:15Bible. Bro was super goatated, right?51:18And he says one thing in in 151:20Corinthians chapter 2:2, he says, "I51:22determined not to know anything else51:23save Jesus and him crucified." Cuz what51:26he realized was he learned from scribes,51:28Pharisees, Sanhedrin, everybody. He51:31goes, "Dang, I honestly I'll get51:35strayed. I'll talk about dreams,51:36visions." He he spoke about gifts and51:38interpretations of dreams and tongues51:40and you have to have two or three that's51:42gathered and they have to interpret the51:43tongues and it's not real tongues if you51:45don't do that. He realized, dude, I'm51:47straying. And so he pulled his brain51:49back to if I could know all about51:51Nephilim, I can know all about Anunnaki,51:53I can know all about Enoch, I could know51:55all about Noah, all these other people,51:57but if I sit here and I don't know about51:59Jesus Christ, it's over for me. And so52:02he pulled everything back to that52:03position and he realized I'm nothing cuz52:06he was studied and Luke was one of his52:08disciples. People don't know that,52:09right? The Luke, when you look at the52:11book of Luke and you look at Hebrews,52:13people say it's Paul, but there's52:14debate. Actually, it's Luke who wrote52:16it. So when I read Hebrews, I could see52:18the characteristics of Luke. For anyone52:20who's a Bible scholar, check me if I'm52:22wrong. Go and read Luke and then read52:25Hebrews. It's literally mirrored the52:26same the way that the writing style is a52:28high level of Greek. Especially if you52:30read the Septuagent correctly, it's a52:32high level of Greek. And so what they do52:34is there it's like you could just tell52:36it's the same person. Now Paul was52:37orchestrating everything but under the52:40guise of Luke. Similar to what you're52:41saying, like having a scribe scribe for52:42him and write for him, right? So when I52:45look at that, I'm like, "Bro, you guys52:47can go down rabbit holes." I've been52:48down rabbit holes. I would go to Venice52:50Beach and argue with people. I would sit52:52there and catch people. How many, you52:55know, I was a straight up apologia,52:57apologetic. I was straight up a52:58Pharisee, straight up read the Bible53:00front to back, would catch up, trip up53:02pastors, would know things about53:04Mormonism that was incorrect, would know53:05things about Southern Baptist that was53:06incorrect. I smash them. And I was53:09winning arguments, but not winning53:11souls. genuinely just sitting there and53:13I was smashing people. I took the gang53:15banging energy and I put it into the53:17gospel where I was like divide and53:19conquer. I come here, I'm going to I'm53:21going to show you what time it is. I'm53:22going to be the big dog and I'm going to53:23I'm going to strip that away from you53:25guys. And I would make pastors pissed53:27off and I would bait them. I was a53:29master rage baiter. I was just like53:31>> I thought you were about to say53:32something else.53:33>> A master debater. I was a master53:34debater.53:35>> No, you said you were even saying53:37baiter. You would bait people and you53:39were a master. You're a you're53:40>> a master. [laughter]53:45>> I was like, "No, [laughter] don't say53:47it."53:47>> I was a master rage baiter.53:50>> There goes our sponsors. [laughter]53:52>> Hey, someone clip that, but cut out a53:54word.53:55They would do that. This guy said master53:57B. But yeah, no, I would literally sit53:59there like the one thing I would trip54:01people up so badly, and I know you guys54:03are going to use this because these are54:04horrible, okay? Don't use this. I would54:07sit there and I would ask any pastor,54:08"How many wise men were there?" That's54:10all I would say.54:11>> I already know this one.54:12>> What is it?54:12>> It's not three.54:14>> Yes, it is.54:14>> No, it's not.54:15>> Just kidding. [laughter] No, it's not.54:16You're right. They brought three gifts,54:18but it never says there's three. Right.54:19And so when I sit there, I would trip54:22them up. And the pastors would be like,54:23"Three?" And I'll be like, "Oh, really?54:25Where does it say three?" And I'd open54:27the Bible. And they'd open the Bible.54:28And they'd be like, "Well, uh" and then54:31they'd look at me and they would fume,54:33bro. like, well, that doesn't matter54:35because of, you know, and I'm just like,54:37yeah, but you say you studied the Bible54:39how many times? 70 times. Okay, cool.54:41And you missed that little detail. It54:42would be this. This energy was bad, bro.54:45>> And so I had to go through that to54:47realize,54:48>> oh my gosh, I'm I'm nothing. And that's54:50when Pastor King cra he literally broke54:52me. He was like, Johnny,54:55>> you're like doing so well, right? You're54:57going to Venice Beach. You're you're54:59you're debating people. you're amazing,55:02but how many souls have you saved? And I55:05was like, dang. Like, it's so true.55:08>> Wait, but so with the conspiracies, so55:10where were you leading with that? Cuz we55:12were talking about the Titanic.55:13>> Yeah. Yeah. So, when you go down rabbit55:15holes, like conspiracies cause you to55:18research and waste hella time. Whereas55:22>> when you when you and you can do that55:23with the Bible,55:24>> Satan, he really wants us to to like55:27think about what he tricked us with in55:28the beginning. He tells Eve, God tells55:31them, don't eat from the knowledge, from55:33the tree of the knowledge of good and55:35evil. So sometimes people don't realize,55:37but it says in Proverbs that the more55:39knowledgeable you are, the more55:40sorrowful you are. That's why there's55:42things like ignorance is bliss, right?55:44The less you know, honestly, the less55:46you could be offended and feel some type55:48of way, right? But the more informed you55:51are, there's actually I've seen people55:53go on on the other edge like everything55:55is CIA. They're all trying to hurt us.55:57It's like, bro. And they're not happy.56:00>> They're genuinely not happy people,56:02right? And so when I when I think about56:04it, it's like you, Satan makes you God56:07in that you're trying to control56:09everything. Having knowledge is okay,56:11but people don't realize that they56:12idolize knowledge, too. So people in our56:15core of the heart, they'll come in and56:16they go, "Dang, Johnny knows a lot. He's56:18super wise, but their their thinking is56:20dopamine hit. Dang. Okay, I didn't see,56:23you know, the gift of magi like that. I56:25didn't see, you know, the the the Isaac56:27and and J, you know, and and Abraham56:30being foreshadowing of Jesus. Oh my56:32gosh, I didn't know Samson to Elijah was56:33about Jesus Christ and us. I didn't know56:35King Saul and this. They start to do56:37this and so I'll catch them cuz I'll sit56:39there and I'll talk about stuff like56:40this and they'll feel uncomfortable and56:43they'll literally say, "Can we move on,56:44bro? I just want to hear the gospel."56:46What they're really saying is, "Can I56:48can we move on? I want more unlocks cuz56:50this is getting boring." You're not56:51you're not like dance monkey dance type56:53of energy. Coco Melon preacher,56:56>> right? And so for me, it's like I I went56:59through that path. I think God made used57:01me as an example for everything. I went57:03through getting frustrated at church,57:06going against church, leaving church, uh57:08becoming a Pharisee, becoming a sody and57:10a scribe, sitting there just studying57:12but not having any fruits. I had to go57:15through all those levels and the 1057:16years that I walked through to be like,57:18"Dang, I understand now." Because I57:19think God was trying to prepare me for57:21this position that I'm at now where we57:23can understand why a person is going57:25through certain things. Why they're, you57:27know, uh, why idolizing knowledge and57:29worshiping knowledge is actually a bad57:31thing. There's so many people that do57:33that, bro. Like they're literally57:35sitting there debating like, "Yeah, I'm57:36better than you." This energy of holier57:38than thou, it's so you could it bleeds57:41through the screen. You're like, "Oh my57:42gosh, what are you doing to push this57:44guy towards Jesus?" Nothing. you're57:46basically just telling them that they're57:47they're garbage and you're better than57:48them. And and it's basically pride57:51wearing church clothes. It's just what57:52it is at the end of the day. And so I I57:55try my best to like recognize that and57:57go, "Dang, I I don't want to push that57:59energy towards people. I want them to58:01only go to Jesus Christ, only focus on58:03Jesus Christ, and that's it." Dreams and58:05visions is the same thing. People focus58:08on dreams and visions. No disrespect. So58:10much so that they feel disconnected when58:13they don't have a dream. They feel58:14disconnected when they don't have a58:16prophecy. They feel disconnected when58:17they don't hear audibly the voice of58:19God. And it's like they're like, "I'm58:21separated from God. I think I did58:22something." People come to me and they58:23mentor with me. I separated from God.58:26You know, like I I Why do you say you're58:28separated? I don't I did something58:29against the Holy Spirit. Like I opened58:30my ear gates and my eye gates to58:32something and now I need deliverance.58:33And I'm like, "But what do you mean you58:35separated from?" No, I'm separate. I58:37could feel it. There's distance. I could58:38feel it in my soul. And they're so58:40serious. And then I go, "But if God is58:43omnisient and omnipotent, meaning he's58:44everywhere all the time and he knows58:46everything all the time, how can you58:47separate from him?" And then they go,58:50"Oh, damn. That's true." Right? So58:52you're basing your feelings as proximity58:55in relationship. Like if I feel closer58:57to God, that must mean I'm closer to58:59God. If I feel further away from God,59:01then I'm further from God. But that's59:02not true. Feelings are deceitful, right?59:04And so people don't realize that rabbit59:07holes, idolizing knowledge, all of that59:09comes down to I want to be my own God. I59:13want to know things like God, which is59:15exactly what Satan was tempting all of59:17us with. The knowledge with the tree of59:19the knowledge of good and evil. I want59:21to know good. I want to know evil. I59:22want to be able to like be God59:24essentially without even realizing59:25that's the undertone and the foundation.59:28Guys, my core of the heart daily app59:31where you get free devotionals every59:33single day is almost here, guys, and59:38join the weight list right now. This is my life's work1:00:12and the best way to make God a habit in1:00:14your life, and I can't wait to share it1:00:16with you guys.1:00:17Is it necessarily bad to have to let1:00:20someone kind of like run through their1:00:22thoughts? Like for example, like I kind1:00:24of went through that experience that1:00:25other night where I basically just had1:00:26like a bad trip, you know, it was with1:00:28my1:00:29>> seeing my family friend's dad in that1:00:31position that he was in and then I1:00:33forgot the other things that I was it1:00:34was straight up like a bad trip. But1:00:36what was really interesting was the next1:00:38morning I kind of came out of it where I1:00:40was like, "Okay, I'm going to call1:00:41Johnny." And I wasn't as I didn't have1:00:44the anxiety and fear that I did have,1:00:45but it was like, whoa, that was kind of1:00:47crazy.1:00:48>> Yeah.1:00:48>> But it was kind of like a reflection of1:00:51look at where my thoughts could take me.1:00:52>> Yep. Yep.1:00:53>> Is that1:00:54>> That's good.1:00:55>> Yeah. I'm like to me it was almost like1:00:56good. It was like a sweating exercise,1:00:58you know?1:00:59>> That's beautiful.1:00:59>> But1:01:00>> that's a level up, Jeremy. A lot of1:01:02people don't want that.1:01:03>> They would just be like, "Oh my god,1:01:04that was like demonic." Or something1:01:06like that.1:01:07>> And that's what Satan does.1:01:08>> Instead of being like, "Oh, okay. That1:01:09was me. my thoughts just running wild1:01:12and1:01:12>> it's not actually that bad and I'm gonna1:01:14leave it up to God.1:01:15>> Exactly. If something is demonic, guys,1:01:18Satan is not going to warn you about it.1:01:20Like, he's literally He wants you to1:01:21walk that path. When I was doing drugs1:01:23and doing all that, I never had the1:01:25thought of like, "Oh, I need to stop1:01:26doing this." But when I went the first1:01:28time to go preach the gospel, I straight1:01:30up panic attack like, "Oh, don't do1:01:32this. You're a fraud. Your homies going1:01:33to see you. They're going to denounce1:01:34you." Blah, blah, blah. How is it that I1:01:36went there and I I joined a gang and1:01:38shot at people, put some dude in a1:01:40wheelchair, bench shot myself, all that.1:01:42And I never was like, I shouldn't do1:01:43this. But when I go and I want to save1:01:45souls, boom, all these thoughts start1:01:47flooding me and like, you need to stop1:01:49doing this. You got to be careful. And I1:01:50thought that was discernment. I1:01:51literally was having a panic attack. So1:01:53God gives us panic attacks. No way.1:01:55Right? In the same way, what you're1:01:57saying is it's such a level up. People1:01:58can't even say it like that. What they1:02:00want is I don't want any pain. I don't1:02:02want to feel any of that stuff. But the1:02:03thing is that's what makes you go to1:02:05God. You immediately called me after1:02:06that, right? And then we were able to1:02:08kind of work through it. And it was1:02:10again, you were you were good. You're1:02:11like, "Yeah, it's kind of weird like I1:02:13was tripping." But then there's like a1:02:15sense of peace like what what was the1:02:16purpose of it? And it's because it's to1:02:18show that if God doesn't hold on to our1:02:21mind, if he doesn't hold on to us by1:02:22grace even for 10 minutes, we're going1:02:25to spiral. We're going to do our own1:02:27thing. It's like a highway back to hell.1:02:29We literally are just people who are1:02:31flawed. We We can't do it. And we tend1:02:33to like again our expect our our1:02:36blessings turn into expectations. We1:02:38expect to have a sound mind. That's why1:02:40he allows us to get sick. There's times1:02:42where like I get so congested I get an1:02:43upper respiratory infection and I can't1:02:45breathe. And and it makes me think,1:02:48dang, how many times when I could1:02:49breathe was I thankful I wasn't. But it1:02:52takes things like that to go, oh my1:02:54gosh, bro. I'm over here like in1:02:56Liberia, Africa when I'm doing my1:02:58missionary. They have no running water.1:03:00They're hiking two, three hours a day to1:03:02go and pull water from a well that1:03:05literally makes you sick. Like when I1:03:06was there, I had a diarrhea for a week1:03:08straight because Why you laughing, bro?1:03:10You laughing at my pain. [laughter]1:03:13>> Why are you laughing?1:03:13>> I'm not laughing. If you laughed, you1:03:15would hear a sound come out of my mouth.1:03:16>> Yo, why are you smiling?1:03:17>> I'm not smiling,1:03:18>> guys. You see what I'm saying? This guy1:03:20don't care about nothing. I'm teaching.1:03:21I'm I'm sharing my heart.1:03:23>> Why' you have1:03:24>> Is that why it's so hard to be1:03:25vulnerable?1:03:25>> Why did you have to add I had diarrhea1:03:27for a week? You could just say I had1:03:29>> I did. I sat there. I had the choro as1:03:31as you Hispanics know the choro, right?1:03:34Literally green apple splats.1:03:37[laughter]1:03:38>> Someone someone was someone was at work1:03:41listening to the unlearn wisdom podcast.1:03:42>> Too bad enjoying their lunch.1:03:44>> Enjoying their lunch.1:03:46>> Yeah. Sorry. But yeah, so I I had to go1:03:49through all of that to go man to go1:03:50through a week of diarrhea.1:03:52>> Literally had to go through [laughter] a1:03:53week of diarrhea. No running water, no1:03:56lights. Right.1:03:57>> And you know, he didn't wipe his booty.1:03:58He, you know, crusty booty for a while.1:04:00>> Yes, I wasn't crusty booty. I'm a clean1:04:02kid.1:04:03>> I had diary for a week. And they didn't1:04:04even have toilet paper there. [laughter]1:04:06>> Didn't wipe. Didn't shower.1:04:09>> No running water to wash my hands. I had1:04:11to eat with my hands.1:04:12>> My cheeks were glued together.1:04:14[laughter]1:04:17>> No.1:04:18>> Was running down my leg.1:04:20[laughter]1:04:20>> Okay. Not not not1:04:22that crazy. But no, it it made me1:04:26realize, dang, I need I needed that.1:04:28When was I thankful for running water?1:04:30When was I thanking for straight up1:04:32toilet paper? I mean, I'm serious. When1:04:34was I thankful? We would eat half a meal1:04:36to one meal a day. Jeremy, you know, you1:04:38guys know how how much of a big back I1:04:40am.1:04:40>> That was the most torturous thing. I was1:04:42like, just put me back in prison.1:04:44Straight up. Put me back in prison.1:04:45Three hots in a c on everything. I could1:04:47program. I could do my burpees. I don't1:04:49got to sit in this hot weather just1:04:51beating down on you.1:04:52>> You were ready to go back to prison.1:04:54>> Yeah. On everything that I love on1:04:55Whisper's Grave. RIP. Genuinely, I I1:04:59genuinely was like, "Oh my gosh, I I I1:05:02can't do this. I I hated it." But the1:05:05one thing that kept me there was the1:05:06kids. The kids would sit there and they1:05:08were thankful for everything. They were1:05:11playing with a a a soccer ball rolled1:05:14up. It was a It was a beach towel that1:05:17was rolled up in duct tape.1:05:19>> And they were so happy. They were so1:05:21happy. Till this day I get emotional1:05:23thinking about they're they have either1:05:24barefoot or they have so like like1:05:26sandals, right? And they're just playing1:05:29and they're having fun and we're1:05:30preaching the gospel to these kids1:05:32talking about God and they're like1:05:33sponges soaking it up. They're like,1:05:35"Jesus loves me." I'm like, "Yes, Jesus1:05:37loves you. This is why you're righteous.1:05:38You're holy. Yes, I'm right. Are you1:05:40righteous?" "Yes, I'm righteous." And1:05:41they cry and they dance. And I'm sitting1:05:43there like, "Dude, when you come out1:05:45here, people are like heretic. They're1:05:47like, you know, giving you your1:05:49unsolicited opinions and one-star Yelp1:05:51reviews. These kids are just thankful to1:05:53be able to hear the word." It was just a1:05:54different heart posture. And I'm like,1:05:56man, I understand now why God says, "I'm1:05:59nigh close to the broken in spirit, to1:06:01the poor in spirit, right?" And so these1:06:04kids have nothing. They have nothing to1:06:06be happy about. And yet, honestly, they1:06:08were way more happier than I was. Yeah.1:06:11I've been to prison. Yeah. you know,1:06:12grew up in section 8, but they would1:06:15kill to have things in section 8. You1:06:17guys know what I'm talking about. The1:06:18white canned peaches, the government1:06:20bread, all that. And these kids don't1:06:22even get that. They're literally eating1:06:24sugar cane. They're eating like just1:06:26random things like things wrapped up in1:06:28banana leaf. I'm like, bro, these kids1:06:31are have nothing nothing to be thankful1:06:33about. And they're sitting here being1:06:34way more happier than I was. That's the1:06:36one thing that shifted my whole mindset1:06:38was to go, "Dude,1:06:40you could have whatever you want. If1:06:42your heart posture isn't correct, you're1:06:44never gonna be happy. You're never going1:06:45to be happy." And so, yeah, I learned1:06:47that and I I carry that till this day to1:06:49be like, "Dude, to be on the plane, I I1:06:51reflect back on all the things like when1:06:53was I free? When was I not free? When1:06:55was I having something? When was I1:06:57didn't have something?" And in this way,1:06:59I just became so so thankful. And I hope1:07:01you guys can think about that, too.1:07:03>> We need to send Aaron. I got from that.1:07:04We need to send Aaron to Liberia, Africa1:07:06[laughter]1:07:06ASAP. He needs to go immediately. I1:07:09could use it honestly. Mr. PJ, you'll be1:07:12>> We could take the PJ there and then drop1:07:13him off.1:07:14>> Yeah.1:07:15>> Some real perspective.1:07:16>> Yeah.1:07:16>> No, but it is crazy. Like even the1:07:18poorest, least fortunate, homeless1:07:21people in America1:07:22>> are still like the top percent of the1:07:24world in terms of fortunate like1:07:27>> Yeah. Even even just the the most least1:07:29fortunate people in America, they have1:07:31clothes usually have access to water for1:07:34the most part.1:07:35>> Yeah,1:07:35>> bro. We give them cell phones and like1:07:38iPads and stuff like that. Like, you1:07:39know, it's crazy, bro.1:07:41>> Also, you didn't get sick this trip.1:07:43>> I didn't I've been I've been I've been1:07:45good. I've been a good boy, man. I've1:07:47been gargling salt. I've been doing1:07:49nasal rinses and I've been praying.1:07:52They're like, "Father God, please help1:07:53me." Like genuinely, I just Yeah. I1:07:55didn't get sick and I've been eating1:07:56healthier, right? Right. M Jerome,1:07:59>> have you been?1:08:00>> I have. I have. I I Uber eat stuff. Yes.1:08:03But I mean, obviously we're out there,1:08:05you know, traveling, but I was again1:08:08chicken and rice.1:08:09>> It's like hella expensive. Like the1:08:11chick the bowl that I ordered as a1:08:13chicken bowl was 27 bucks.1:08:16>> And I was like, "Dang, bro. This better1:08:18be like Jesus chicken. Like it better1:08:20give me some wings after." Like it was1:08:22legit good,1:08:23>> but it was healthy. It was clean. Brown1:08:25rice, you know, no not a lot of salt,1:08:27etc., etc.1:08:29>> So hungry.1:08:29>> So So was that whole lesson of Easter.1:08:32That's it. It's like1:08:34>> you focus on I'm not saying it was like1:08:36>> that's it. No, no, no. Sorry. Sorry.1:08:38>> The tone The tone was1:08:42honestly I know that was m that was1:08:43mean.1:08:44>> Like what? Why do you do that?1:08:45>> No. No. No. [laughter]1:08:46>> That's it.1:08:46>> No.1:08:47>> You just spit bars. I mean1:08:49>> I didn't mean it like that. Liberia,1:08:50Africa, green apple splats. That's it.1:08:53>> That was all a good lesson. That was all1:08:54a good lesson,1:08:55>> man. Bro, I'm just done with this guy.1:08:57>> No, but I thought the Easter lesson. It1:08:59was so It was like literally a sentence1:09:00long.1:09:01>> It was like, "Hey, you guys, you're1:09:02celebrating it the wrong way. It's about1:09:04everything."1:09:04>> It wasn't a sentence long, Jeremy. I was1:09:07bringing it to the foundation. Yes, I1:09:08know. But that's what it is. You know,1:09:10you know us. We're simple, bro. That's1:09:12profound.1:09:12>> What are your takeaways? Let's see. What1:09:14did you learn from the Easter section?1:09:16It's not No, it's not a singular day.1:09:18It's not a singular day. you're focused1:09:19on and it's not this idea of of a rule.1:09:22Like1:09:23>> like he said, I used to trip about the1:09:25other thing cuz I would literally work1:09:26on Sundays. I'm like, dang, am I doing1:09:28something wrong? Like I just1:09:30>> That's legalistic.1:09:31>> That's why I treat every day like1:09:32Sunday. [laughter]1:09:34>> Oh, you treat it.1:09:35>> Never works.1:09:36>> Yeah. Yeah. He took it the opposite.1:09:38>> The rest [laughter] I always honor the1:09:40Sabbath.1:09:41>> I'm just kidding, guys. Every day for me1:09:43is like International Women's Day.1:09:45[laughter]1:09:46You guys really got to lock in. Okay.1:09:49I'm sorry. I'm sorry.1:09:50>> The type of guy to be like, "We're1:09:51pregnant." [laughter]1:09:54>> Why would you do that?1:09:55>> Periods make me so angry. [laughter]1:09:59>> But that's the ultimate thing. It's1:10:00like, "Hey, don't listen to your pastors1:10:02cuz they're just spitting like garbage1:10:04at you."1:10:05>> Yeah. Not not not [laughter]1:10:09completely get you caught up.1:10:10>> Completely wrong.1:10:12>> No, he said, "Yeah, clip that."1:10:13>> All I learned is that I need to go read1:10:14the book of Enoch.1:10:16>> [laughter]1:10:17>> I need to know anu.1:10:18>> I'm not going to lie. I'm not going to1:10:19lie. You made me mad curious, though.1:10:21You're like, "It's1:10:22>> I'm sure it made everybody curious." But1:10:23that's where But then, how did you How1:10:25did you then unravel and find out that1:10:27Enoch was not that? You know what I'm1:10:28saying?1:10:28>> Well, I mean, I did the research and1:10:30then I sat there and was like, "Bro,1:10:31it's leading me astray.1:10:33>> I'm not saving souls. I I had pride1:10:36behind it. If I'm keeping it a buck,1:10:38hundo P." Seriously, I'm sitting here1:10:39and I'm going, "Man, I'm so smart." Like1:10:42outwardly, I'm like, "Yeah, guys, the1:10:44book of Enoch, I'm soft, right?" But1:10:46inwardly, I'm like, "Yeah, I I found1:10:48something. Like, I know what's up." And1:10:50you guys know what I'm talking about.1:10:51You guys do that too, man. Like, there's1:10:53this thing where we're like, "Oh, no.1:10:55It's okay." But deep down, we love the1:10:56ego stroke. We're made for that if1:10:58you're honest with yourself. That's the1:11:00rawness about human beings, right? It's1:11:02like we genuinely love being right.1:11:05Right. We love discovering new things.1:11:07We love feeling like, "Dang, this is1:11:10amazing." Like I even [clears throat]1:11:12see it in little parts of my flesh where1:11:14when we were like riding back from the1:11:16Uber, there was an accident on the other1:11:18side and it was packed, right? And it1:11:21took me 17 minutes to get get home,1:11:23which is crazy. Like you can't on the1:11:26west side to get over there. It's like1:11:28it's nuts normally. Yeah. And so there1:11:31was a part of me where I was like,1:11:32"Yeah, that's right, suckers." Like I1:11:35was It was bad, bro. It was bad. I'm1:11:38being I'm I'm just like, dude, oh my1:11:40gosh, I'm so thankful.1:11:41>> A truck full of puppies.1:11:42>> I know. I know. But but what I'm I'm1:11:44just being real, right? I'm like, dang,1:11:46there's that heart of like, yeah, I got1:11:49something and they did it.1:11:51>> As crazy as it is, yes, I'm your pastor.1:11:53Yes, I'm ordained. Okay, but I'm just1:11:56keeping it real. If we're being honest,1:11:57we have that in us where somebody goes1:12:00like if somebody's sister and they do1:12:02that where where they did this with me,1:12:03right? They sat everyone go around and1:12:05say one good thing about Johnny. I was1:12:07like, "No, it's okay." But inside, I was1:12:08like, "You better say something good."1:12:10Like, literally, we're just we're just1:12:12like that. It's just how we go around1:12:14and say one good thing about Johnny.1:12:15Actually, let's skip it.1:12:16>> No. No. [laughter]1:12:17>> I'm like, skip it. Wait, what do you1:12:18mean? Sorry tripping out. No, but we1:12:21have that feeling. It may not be super1:12:23big, but there it's there. It's this1:12:25feeling of like,1:12:27>> oh yeah, words of affirmation. That's1:12:28amazing. Or it could be like you feed1:12:30off of that. Some people feed off of it.1:12:32Different levels, right? Different1:12:33devils. But yeah.1:12:34>> No, [snorts] I was just pointing at him.1:12:36Oh, sorry.1:12:36>> Disagreeing [laughter] with what you're1:12:37saying.1:12:38>> He's not baiting. You're being a master1:12:41>> baiter again, my dude. [laughter]1:12:44>> But yeah, so1:12:45>> I'm done masturbating. Okay.1:12:47>> Okay. [laughter] Okay. Good.1:12:48>> I'm done masturbating with both of you1:12:50in the room.1:12:51>> What the1:12:52>> What?1:12:53>> Dude, you're [laughter] going to get the1:12:55sponsors pulled.1:12:56>> What do you mean? There's no sponsors.1:12:59[laughter]1:13:01>> No, but but yeah. So it it's what I ask1:13:05what the takeaway that I want from you1:13:07guys from our ministry is always just1:13:10act as if Jesus is there, right? Like1:13:13>> when you're speaking to somebody,1:13:15he's in the room whether you think it or1:13:17not. He's everywhere all the time. He1:13:20understands everything all the time. So1:13:22when [clears throat] you when you move1:13:23in that way, you start to treat people1:13:25with respect. You start to be like,1:13:27"Dang, I can't really lie because I1:13:29could trick them. I could gossip about1:13:32them. I could, you know, deceive people.1:13:34But like God is here and he sees me.1:13:37Like how could I move like that, right?1:13:39It's it's he knows every single part of1:13:41my heart. He knows every single, you1:13:42know, thought in my brain. So why would1:13:45I why would I do that, right?1:13:47>> What would you say to the person that1:13:48then takes that a little too legalistic1:13:50or it becomes a fear thing? Oh no, I1:13:52messed up. God is in the you know what I1:13:54mean?1:13:54>> No, I mean first and foremost, the Bible1:13:56says fear is not from God, right? Fear1:13:58and reverence are two different things.1:14:00Obviously, the beginning of wisdom is is1:14:02fear of the Lord. But the fear, the word1:14:04for fear is reverence, to have respect1:14:06for God. So, what I'm actually trying to1:14:09align you guys with is respect. If1:14:11there's a person that comes in, if it's1:14:13your boss, and God is the boss, right?1:14:15You're not just going to mess around.1:14:18You're going to you're going to treat it1:14:19and you're going to carry yourself in a1:14:20way that any human being would would be1:14:23like, "Oh, wow. There's a level of1:14:24respect." It's not that you fear the1:14:25person. You're like, I respect this1:14:28person enough because I know that they1:14:29know what I'm thinking and I'm feeling.1:14:31It should actually motivate you to live1:14:34more upright than it is to be like, oh1:14:36my gosh. Again, it comes down to1:14:38obedience through love and gratitude and1:14:41going, "That's my my father there. I1:14:43don't have to lie. I don't have to1:14:44gossip. I can sit there and he's1:14:46listening to me and he knows my heart1:14:48versus I need to manipulate. Oh, I need1:14:50to be careful about manipulating because1:14:52he's here now and I can't." If you have1:14:54fear that you shouldn't manipulate, it1:14:57means you want to manipulate and you1:14:59don't want to. Why are you Why are you1:15:00laughing?1:15:01>> I feel shameful.1:15:03>> You think Jesus would have laughed at1:15:05the master that joke or not?1:15:07>> I think he would have laughed at it.1:15:09[laughter]1:15:09>> I don't know actually. I don't know.1:15:11>> Yeah. I was just like, "Oh man."1:15:12>> Oh, you feel shameful? Yeah. Everybody1:15:14pointed him. Shame. Shame. Shame. I'm1:15:17just kidding.1:15:17>> Shame. [laughter] Shame. Shame.1:15:20>> No, guys. Condemnation isn't from God.1:15:22But genuine. That's funny, Jeremy. Your1:15:25your brain be going off tangents, bro.1:15:27I'm sitting here teaching a deep lesson.1:15:29You're like this.1:15:31[laughter]1:15:31>> I felt shame in that moment. I was like,1:15:33"Oh my shame in your smiling."1:15:35>> Like, I'm a 35year-old man making1:15:37[laughter]1:15:37masturbating jokes. When1:15:39>> you're literally 35 manchild.1:15:41>> Yeah. When like Jesus could have been in1:15:42the room, I'm like, "Yeah, what if Jesus1:15:44Jesus would be like this guy?"1:15:45>> Yeah. We're talking about Jesus1:15:46listening to everything you say and then1:15:49the jokes we're making. Oh,1:15:51>> can't help but1:15:53>> social anxiety right now in front of1:15:54Jesus.1:15:55>> Yeah, literally. I'm sweating.1:15:57>> Yeah.1:15:57>> Thanks.1:15:57>> He's like, "Ah, Jeremy." He's like1:15:59waiting for you.1:16:00>> Just like Jeremy, can we uh talk1:16:02outside? [laughter]1:16:03>> Yeah.1:16:04>> Like a principal.1:16:06>> I'm so curious. I can't wait to go to1:16:09heaven and be like, "What was, you know,1:16:10like you were saying, like, what was1:16:11that? Why'd you do that? What' you think1:16:13about that joke I made?"1:16:14>> Yeah. [laughter]1:16:15>> Things will become known, too. Once you1:16:17get up there, you'll know everything1:16:18because like like sin doesn't taint your1:16:21judgment anymore.1:16:22>> You get a crazy download1:16:24>> 100%. It's it's biblical. It's1:16:26Revelations Thessalonians. It talks1:16:28about this.1:16:28>> I knew Aaron was1:16:30>> Oh my gosh.1:16:31>> Okay, we could just Jesus is still here,1:16:33man.1:16:34>> Yeah,1:16:34>> he's literally standing that in my1:16:36brain.1:16:36>> He's standing in the corner. Whenever1:16:38you make a joke, he's like,1:16:40[laughter]1:16:41>> "Okay,1:16:45teaches." cookies and John like John is1:16:48just like rubbing his head cuz he's like1:16:50you guys are like undoing everything1:16:52that I teach [laughter]1:16:53everything1:16:54>> 10 minutes he's just like1:16:57[laughter]1:16:58>> that reminds me if you're listening on1:17:00audio please uh download it rate five1:17:02stars if you like this go watch and1:17:03download the audio sorry you couldn't1:17:05see that last joke but just download1:17:07this [laughter]1:17:08>> yeah go after you listen on video go1:17:10listen to it on audio it helps us1:17:12>> yeah and uh maybe share what you guys1:17:15learned from this episode? Did you guys1:17:17learn something about Easter? Like what?1:17:19Or maybe share like one of your most1:17:21fondest memories of Easter? Like Aaron1:17:24had a lot where he painted the eggs red1:17:26and found stuff and whatever.1:17:27>> New question. New [clears throat]1:17:28question. It's still okay to then enjoy1:17:31those little Easter egg hunts and do1:17:33those things.1:17:34>> Of course. So people think like cuz cuz1:17:36the heart posture is there, right? If if1:17:39that's the case, guys, the the the weeks1:17:42are the days of the week are paganistic,1:17:44too. When you think of Thursday, it's1:17:45it's literally after Thor. It's Thor's1:17:48day, right? So, what are you going to1:17:51say? The fourth day of the week. Like,1:17:53you're you're going to, right? You're1:17:54going to sit there go, "Hey guys, I'll1:17:56meet you on the fourth day of the week.1:17:57Don't really think you're1:17:58>> If it makes If it makes me closer to1:17:59God, I'd do it." Not like you.1:18:01>> That's legalistic, right? My heart for1:18:05if Jesus was in the room, he would not1:18:06want me celebrating Thor's Day. I'm1:18:08learning this all from the unlearn1:18:09wisdom podcast. [laughter]1:18:11>> This bro missed the whole message.1:18:13>> Bro is special.1:18:15[laughter]1:18:16>> No, but genuinely though, you you you1:18:18guys, if you live legalistically, okay,1:18:20that's fine. You there's there's the way1:18:23I say it is there's an elevator to1:18:24heaven, which is Jesus, and there's the1:18:26stairs. And you could take the stairs if1:18:28you want to. You can do all the1:18:29legalistic stuff, but just make sure1:18:31that when you guys do it, you do it1:18:32perfectly. Right? God says in John1:18:3414:15, "If you love me, keep my1:18:36commandments." He doesn't say try to, he1:18:38says do it all. And what he's trying to1:18:40teach us is you can't do it. That's why1:18:42in Matthew 5:17, he says, "Don't think I1:18:44come to abolish the law. I come to1:18:46fulfill it." Me, why would he have to1:18:48fulfill the law and why would he have to1:18:50die on the cross if you could just1:18:51fulfill the law and get to get to1:18:53heaven? Right? It's it's because you1:18:54can't. He's trying to show us that he's1:18:56the only person that loves God. That's1:18:58why it says God is love, not human1:19:00beings are love. Agape love means it1:19:02comes from God and it's unconditional.1:19:04Human beings, no matter what, have1:19:06conditional love, right? And it's just1:19:08how it is. Trust me. I came from a gang1:19:10life. I would have did a hundred years1:19:12for any of my homies. They know that.1:19:13I've been shot. I done did evil evil1:19:15things for them. I didn't did 13 years1:19:17for them. And at the end of the1:19:19[clears throat] day, love changes1:19:21because when when things get real and1:19:23things start to hit the fans, you start1:19:25to see really how people's real. You see1:19:28who folds and who doesn't, right? And1:19:30and you'll realize how stupid you are. I1:19:32sat there and I was like, "Dang, I'm I'm1:19:34dumb. I went to prison alone. I1:19:36literally did my time alone and I came1:19:38out alone and I didn't have I had to1:19:40make a way for my own self. I literally1:19:43I couldn't lean on anybody, right? And1:19:45and these are people that once you grew1:19:47up with and you're like known them for1:19:4920, 30 years and you start to see the1:19:51switch up. It's just the truth. It's1:19:53just how life is, right? And this isn't1:19:55even gang culture. This is just humans1:19:57in general. People all day grow distant,1:20:00you know? uh no friends they don't talk1:20:02to anymore. People get married and1:20:04they're just like, "Oh, you're different1:20:05now." It's all kinds of different stuff1:20:07that just gets kind of convoluted. So,1:20:09it's important to realize that it's only1:20:12God that can do anything good. And so,1:20:15if you want to produce good, that's1:20:17okay. I'm not saying don't try to1:20:19produce good, but you have to understand1:20:21it has to stem from the root. It has to1:20:23come from God. A lot of people say yes,1:20:25it's from God, but inside they're trying1:20:27to take the credit. And that's why when1:20:29you tell them they're not doing good,1:20:30they feel some type of way. Right? If1:20:32it's really from God and someone goes,1:20:34"Hey, Johnny, you're not good." I'm1:20:35like, "Well, that's biblical. I'm not1:20:38good. If you strip Jesus away from me,1:20:40bro, I'll be in your house. I wouldn't1:20:41just be on your screen. I'll be taking1:20:42your screens. I'll be like literally1:20:44robbing you, right? I'll lay you guys1:20:45down, right? Home invasions is just what1:20:47we used to do straight up." And so, in1:20:49this way, I know that. And that's why1:20:52when people say that about me, I'm like,1:20:53"That's cool. That's how you feel. And1:20:55you're entitled to your opinion. This is1:20:57America. It's [laughter] great. You can1:20:58say whatever you want. China, Jimmy1:21:02Chang. No, I'm just kidding. But1:21:03basically, right, it's it's important to1:21:05realize, oh, you can think what you guys1:21:08want, but you have to match it up to the1:21:11Bible. And the Bible says, "There is1:21:12none righteous, no not one." Psalm 14:21:21:14to3 is very clear. Says, "The Lord1:21:17looked down on heaven, on the children1:21:19of man, to see if anyone doeth good, to1:21:21see if anyone seeketh him. There is none1:21:23that doeth good. All of them have went1:21:25astray." Right? And there's none that's1:21:27righteous, know not one. And then Paul1:21:30reiterates this. He quotes that in1:21:31Romans 3:10. He's basically saying there1:21:33isn't people who's good. Now, when you1:21:35compare horizontally, hundo P, you guys1:21:38are better than certain people. People1:21:39are better. They have accolades or they1:21:41just there's certain people didn't rob1:21:42people like I did, that didn't get shot,1:21:44didn't shoot at people 100%. But when1:21:46you compare vertically though, that's1:21:48the problem, right? If I compare myself1:21:50to God and you compare yourself to God,1:21:52we both lose. we're both going to the1:21:54same hell if Jesus doesn't die for us.1:21:56It's just the truth. And if you think1:21:58about it in that way, then you start to1:22:00realize something. Oh my gosh, I'm a1:22:02sinner. Judging other people for sinning1:22:04differently, and we're both going to end1:22:06up in the same place where sinners go.1:22:08Probably not the smartest thing to do.1:22:10Probably have to humble down and go, you1:22:11know what? We literally all need grace.1:22:14That's why I love grace and mercy. It1:22:16literally levels the playing field. It1:22:18goes, you don't deserve it and you don't1:22:19deserve it, but I'm going to give it to1:22:20both of you guys. So, a lot of people1:22:22are like, "Well, how come they get to go1:22:23to heaven?" They you better be happy1:22:25that they get to go to heaven because if1:22:26they don't get to go to heaven, you1:22:27don't get to go to heaven either because1:22:28in front of God, we're all the same. If1:22:30that's the case, then you you start to1:22:32see it from a perspective of like, "Wow,1:22:34this is deep." Like, thankfully God did1:22:36that. And so, when I see my little1:22:38homies who don't change, when I see, you1:22:40know, OG's in my neighborhood who are1:22:41still the same, I start to have peace1:22:43cuz I go, "Oh my gosh, that was me and1:22:46God changed me. Why wouldn't he change1:22:48them? He's the God of all. I it's1:22:51because I don't trust him. I don't think1:22:52that he's going to change them. Yeah, it1:22:54may take 10 years. It may take 20 years,1:22:56but that doesn't matter. I'm trying to1:22:59make God work on my timing when it's not1:23:01my timing. Nothing ever worked on my1:23:03timing. Whenever I followed myself on my1:23:05timing, everything was rushed.1:23:06Everything was impulsive. When I started1:23:08to trust God on his timing, things were1:23:11beautiful. From core of the heart, I1:23:14think this starting 5 years ago, it1:23:16wouldn't have worked out. I wouldn't1:23:17have been seasoned enough to actually1:23:19deal with people calling me certain1:23:21things. I wouldn't be studied enough.1:23:23It's like God's timing is so perfect,1:23:25right? Me being in YA, California Youth1:23:27Authority, all the way to level four,1:23:29level three, maximum security to then do1:23:31all of that and then understand it. Like1:23:33if if God made me famous when I just got1:23:35out of YA, I would have fumbled it. I1:23:37would have died 100%. I would have died.1:23:39But the fact that he he's his timing is1:23:41so perfect and I'm over here like, why1:23:43did you send me to prison at 12 years1:23:45old? Why'd you do this? Why' you do1:23:46that? I didn't understand it. I didn't1:23:48understand it. And now I'm like, bro, I1:23:50get it now. And so, how can you not1:23:52trust him when you look at your life and1:23:54go, I'm really glad God did hold out1:23:56because that that day if he gave it to1:23:58me, that blessing would have crushed me1:24:00on everything. It would have became a1:24:01curse 100%.1:24:03>> The thing you said that really like1:24:06pinged into my brain1:24:08>> was [snorts] the God's timing thing,1:24:09right? And it's always my own selfish1:24:12thoughts of if I had this now, then I'd1:24:14be good. And God, if you gave this to me1:24:15now, I would do I would use it in the1:24:17right way.1:24:18>> Most times, 99.9%1:24:20of the times I'm wrong. [laughter]1:24:23>> Amen.1:24:23>> I was also just laughing where you're1:24:25like, "Yeah, you could take this stairs1:24:27to heaven." It's like when you get up to1:24:28heaven, you see everyone with like1:24:29monster calves, you know, who's like the1:24:31live by the law. [laughter] You're like,1:24:33"Oh, you got look at the heart.1:24:35>> There's no way you can get to heaven the1:24:37stairs, man. That's crazy." But yeah.1:24:40>> Amen. You have any silly1:24:42>> before we get on out of here? Should we1:24:43talk about the app?1:24:45>> Bang bang.1:24:46>> But when this app when this episode1:24:49comes out, the app is mere weeks, maybe1:24:51even days away from release.1:24:53>> Unless you're in in any of the inner1:24:54circle groups.1:24:55>> A few people are beta testing right now.1:24:57Actually, a lot of people are beta1:24:59testing right now. So, if you're in the1:25:00communities, maybe, you know, there's a1:25:02lot of ways to kind of, you know, find1:25:04Johnny, but1:25:05>> there is ways that you can beta test. If1:25:07you wait if you are a paid subscriber to1:25:09the old website coreoftheheart.com or1:25:11yeah the previous core of theart.com go1:25:13check log into your core oftheheart.com1:25:15account look at the main feed read that1:25:17message check your email go into the1:25:19discord into the membersonly chat1:25:21there's a lot of places you can find it1:25:22so1:25:23>> you have early access to the app and 141:25:25days free so definitely just go check it1:25:27out1:25:27>> yes and if you're a newer person just1:25:30get on that playlist in the description1:25:33>> this the reviews are crazy already1:25:35>> crazy And what I love what I love is1:25:38everybody that's been using it is giving1:25:39us legit feedback that's going to make1:25:41it even we're we're developing so fast1:25:44that in a month or two it's going to be1:25:45a completely different place.1:25:47>> We literally put on we hired on a new1:25:49developer like two developers directly1:25:52dedicated to this project so that we can1:25:54crank out the bugs.1:25:55>> They're just reading your notes1:25:56>> other literally literally otherwise it1:25:59would take months to like get back to1:26:01you guys and we don't want to do that.1:26:03So, we genuinely care about your guys'1:26:06feedback. Keep giving the feedback. It's1:26:08amazing. We don't take any, you know, we1:26:10don't take it lightly, right? We're1:26:11always for you guys. So,1:26:12>> yeah. And the app will keep growing and1:26:14getting better. Like, usually like a1:26:16whole team built this app, but then1:26:17usually when it's done, they kind of1:26:18pass it off and walk away. We decided to1:26:20have two full-time people on to keep1:26:22continually upgrading it, listening to1:26:24your feedback.1:26:25>> So, the app's only going to get better.1:26:26Also, I want you guys to know it's1:26:27completely free. Yes, there are paid1:26:29features, but you can use the app1:26:30completely free. the Bible, the daily1:26:32devotionals, a lot of past content or a1:26:34little bit of it.1:26:35>> Listen guys, I I created this app with1:26:37the with the mindset of 10 years ago,1:26:40what were the things that I struggled1:26:42with that didn't that that I I wish I1:26:45had as tools and resources and so I1:26:48really thought it out like we need to do1:26:49this, we need to do that with the help1:26:50of the team as well also given their1:26:53kind of pain and ailments as well and we1:26:55mixed everything in. So that's why we1:26:58have things like notetakers. We have,1:27:00you know, the actual correct Bible in1:27:02the correct translation. Just all of1:27:04these things, guys, that that you guys1:27:06can and and the Gospel bot is the number1:27:08one thing for me personally.1:27:10>> It's like you're you got those 2 a.m. 31:27:13a.m. spiraling thoughts. You guys know1:27:14what I'm talking about. One thought1:27:15leads into 10 other thoughts and then1:27:16you're sitting there, you got a1:27:17pressure, you got tears down your face,1:27:19you're wondering why God, right? During1:27:22those times, I've been through that and1:27:23I didn't have people. I can't wake up1:27:25pastor when we created this AI to1:27:28literally put all of my teachings in it1:27:30from 10 years ago from my notes to1:27:32everything inside of it, right? It's1:27:34such a it's such a banger. Like when I1:27:36use it and I test it time to time, it1:27:39answers exactly how it would answer.1:27:41It's kind of crazy. It's kind of crazy.1:27:42And so, you know, we we that in itself1:27:46is an app all alone. Like genuinely by1:27:48itself, this thing is so beefy. There's1:27:51so many things in it that you guys can1:27:53use. And I'm not just trying to glaze my1:27:55own app. Like genuinely, I use it. I1:27:57wake up in the morning when I think1:27:58about a devotional. I read through it. I1:28:00ask Gospelbot, "Okay, how would we do1:28:02this?" And all of that, I start spinning1:28:04it and I and I, you guys have the1:28:06devotionals as well. You guys see,1:28:08right? It's getting better and better1:28:09because I'm sitting there and solely1:28:11through this app. It's helping me1:28:12produce more better content for you guys1:28:14and deliver this type of message more1:28:16clear to you guys. So, yeah,1:28:17>> it's ultimately like these are tools to1:28:20just make God a habit in your life.1:28:22100%.1:28:23>> Yeah. My favorite my favorite feature is1:28:25the streak tracker.1:28:27>> Sleeps is on a 14 day on a 15-day1:28:29streak.1:28:30>> Yeah. Let's go sleep.1:28:31>> He has the longest streak in app1:28:32history. That means if you check the1:28:33daily devotional at the end of it every1:28:35day, you can mark it as complete and1:28:36then it shows you how many days in a row1:28:38you've been doing it. If you break your1:28:39streak, you still see your past streaks,1:28:41but you you it'll go back to zero,1:28:43literally. So, it's honestly I love that1:28:45feature. I think it keeps you cool.1:28:46Keeps you honest, keeps you checking in.1:28:48The most important thing too that helps1:28:50us is if you guys have you got to1:28:52download the app and use it for a couple1:28:53days and then leave us a fivestar1:28:55review.1:28:56>> Write a nice long review. Write about1:28:58what about it doesn't always have to be1:28:59about core of the heart. It's like what1:29:01do you love about the features of this1:29:02app that helped you grow in your own1:29:04spiritual life? Like how has this app1:29:06helped you?1:29:07>> Yes. And what we really what the what1:29:08the goal of the app that says that it1:29:10sets out to do is making God as a habit1:29:12in your life. The easiest way to make1:29:14God a habit in your life. So let us know1:29:16how did it help? How could it better1:29:18help you make God a happen in your life?1:29:20What things like the streak tracker and1:29:22and it's a small you have to compile1:29:24over time like it's like going to the1:29:25gym when you go one or two days nothing1:29:27happens but when you look back after 141:29:28days you're like whoa1:29:29>> it's like before core of the heart after1:29:31core of the heart.1:29:33>> Oh my goodness.1:29:34>> But yeah, it's fun. It's fun being on1:29:35it. It's fun that it's finally working.1:29:37>> We should make those commercials like1:29:38Mac verse PC. [laughter] He's like this1:29:40is me before the core of the heart. This1:29:42is1:29:42>> I love the memes like [clears throat]1:29:43before verse before.1:29:45It's super buttery, too. Like when I1:29:47touch I'm like, "Bro, it's so smooth."1:29:49And that's one thing a lot of people are1:29:51saying. They're like, "Bro, it's it's1:29:52cuz we You guys don't know. We sunk like1:29:57>> hundreds of thousands of mug." Okay.1:29:59Okay. Okay. Sorry. [laughter] Hundreds1:30:01of thousands.1:30:02>> No, just use the app. Just use the app.1:30:03>> No, don't use it. You We We sunk like1:30:06>> That liquid glass wasn't cheap. Okay,1:30:08>> dude. Legit. Oh my god. And I'm a1:30:10Chinese aer, you know? So expensive1:30:12everything. My god, man. Hey, but what I1:30:14will say is this is like the coolest,1:30:17funnest thing that we've built and it's1:30:19just going to grow. So that's another1:30:20thing too. There's a lot of people that1:30:22are like, "Oh, but I have a membership1:30:23on the old core of the heart website."1:30:24Your experience doesn't change. You1:30:26going to go to the Bible classes. You1:30:28can watch everything. But that was owned1:30:30by a third party. So we can't get1:30:32features that you guys wanted. You guys1:30:34would want simple things we just1:30:35couldn't build because1:30:36>> we'd be in a box. Literally, we're in a1:30:38we're marginalized to we're at the mercy1:30:40of these third parties. It's basically1:30:43Squarespace. Like we were basically on1:30:44app similar to1:30:45>> Squarespace1:30:46>> or Patreon, whatever it is.1:30:47>> But now, but now this is our own.1:30:51>> Yeah, we're going to do1:30:52>> in house, baby. We got developers,1:30:55>> real developers who are like E= MC². We1:30:58don't say that about our developers.1:30:59>> Also, I want to say1:31:00>> they're smart. What the heck?1:31:02>> No, it's better than calling people1:31:03masturbator.1:31:05[laughter]1:31:07>> I'm saying they're smart, dude.1:31:09>> They are really smart.1:31:10>> They're hella smart. For anyone who1:31:11understands what what I'm going to say1:31:12is 0% of the app was vibe coded.1:31:15>> There's no AI in genuinely real people1:31:18who coded this thing. So, it's going to1:31:20work and it's going to work well and1:31:21it's going to work forever.1:31:22>> Yeah, they broke at least 17 keyboards1:31:25because of us. Because of you.1:31:27>> Well, Johnny, I wanted1:31:30[laughter]1:31:31man. This guy, man. No pay me nothing,1:31:34man. He think everything free. Free1:31:37free. Why? What the hell, man? You can1:31:39use that accent. [laughter]1:31:41cuz that's my accent. Okay,1:31:45>> this weekend is Baptize Arizona, a huge1:31:49multi,000 person event in Arizona.1:31:52>> Johnny is finally officially going to be1:31:54baptizing people.1:31:56>> He's only baptized people once before1:31:58publicly, but now and it was kind of not1:31:59really announced that you were doing it.1:32:01It was kind of on the in the moment, but1:32:02now officially if you want to get1:32:04baptized.1:32:05>> Yeah. By Johnny Chang and George Chang.1:32:09>> Yeah. George is going to be there.1:32:11George is going to be there too. So,1:32:12special guest, Pastor Israel as well.1:32:14Um, if you guys want to sign up, link in1:32:18the bio. And you guys can also text1:32:20after. No, Arizona. [laughter] So I did my1:33:20job.1:33:21>> No, I'm just kidding. But basically,1:33:23yeah, we we we'll all hang out, right?1:33:24It'll be like a a a hood function. No,1:33:27it's not. Okay.
